I hate being right sometimes, and this is one of those times. As I feared, Brett Kavanaugh’s cowardice in not vacating the stay on the original eviction moratorium is coming back to haunt property owners across the country.
In my previous pieces on this topic, I noted that Kavanaugh had the chance to join the conservatives, vacate the stay on the original moratorium, and do so in a way that clearly prevents any future issuance given how blatantly unconstitutional this theft of property is. Instead, perhaps in some misguided attempt to get the left to love him, the Trump-appointed justice joined the liberals, allowing the moratorium to continue and expire.
Kavanaugh fears attacks on his family after his Senate confirmation hearing. That now governs how he rules on cases before the Supreme Court. Senators like the crude, arrogant whore Harris have bulied him into neutrality at best.
I would be afraid for my family, too.

Don't expect any decisions that affirm moral conservative American values and principles from these supremes..
They are terrified that the reigning party will dilute the court with additional justiced

I hate it that most of us supported the big crybaby when Doctor Little Girl Voice was picking on him. He should have dismissed her in the first five minutes by saying that he never had such bad taste in women so a rape was unthinkable.

As much as I love Trump, his SC picks and his cabinet picks give me good reason to not want him again in the WH.

Well #4, Let us remember who Trump was elected. He was an OUTSIDER, and we were (are) fed up with the career politicians who morph into swamp creatures. As an outsider, he did not know who the good and bad persons were, and no doubt relied on advice from many persons he chose to give him guidance. Many of these people gave him bad advice. If he returns for a second term, he will be much wiser as to who to trust, and will surround himself with those who have proven a consistent loyalty to him and his vision for making America great again.

I agree with reply number 5, .
He relied on unreliable people and made some bad mistakes in picking his administration.
One of the worst was Faucci who he should have fired early on, but he was facing a bad situation.
If not for Covid he would still be President, and I am still not so sure the Democrats were not in league with the Chinese and Faucci when they released this virus.

Five justices, INCLUDING ROBERTS and Kavanaugh siding with the liberals, denied the request to lift the stay.
Why is only Kavanaugh being criticized? He was no more a "swing vote" than was Roberts?
The court was acting on the emergency request to stop the moratorium.
The Court simply issued an order denying the request to stop the moratorium.
In his concurring opinion, Kavanaugh explained his vote by writing that he agreed that the CDC had exceeded its authority by issuing its eviction moratorium, but as the moratorium would expire in a few weeks he would deny the application.
If Kavanaugh is criticized because he did not anticipate that the CDC would extend the moratorium, such criticism should apply equally to Chief Justice Roberts (unless it is to be assumed that Roberts anticipated that the CDC would extend the moratorium).

#4- MacCurdle the Turtle is nobody's' pick' for guidance.
In Fauscist America, he is the only 'choice' you get; and, likewise with his pre-packaged TV dinner nominee$ for everything.

I agree #5. I note so many jump on blaming Trump for a less than stellar appointment yet Dubya knew EXACTLY what he was doing with the choice of Roberts. He not only chose Roberts but he made him CHIEF Justice. Trump was sabotaged every step of his job from day one as our President.
As far as giving Kavanaugh a pass because he fears for his family, I say that does not fly.
Brett Kavanaugh has been in Washington, D.C. since birth. He did all the things one does if they wish to join the swamp creatures club in D.C. During Yale law school, he began working with Judge Ken Starr regarding Clinton issues. He has worked in the swampy creature caves of that town since the early 90’s while in Yale Law School. He saw all that happened to those who got crosswise with Hillary and Bill. He was not naive about D.C. when he said yes to the appointment!! Brett had a horrific confirmation process. However, he did not go through any worse than our consistently courageous Justice Clarence Thomas. If Brett is that scared for his family he can step down. He took an oath. God holds him to that oath and so do I. He has the position and wealth to have the best security for his family. Other courageous patriots do not and they still take their oaths seriously.

#7, Kavanaugh is being criticized, rightly IMO, because he said the eviction moratorium issued by the CDC was unconstitutional but he let it continue for “one more month.” If it was unconstitutional, it was illegal, and something’s that illegal and unconstitutional cannot be granted a grace period, not for a month, not for a week, not for an hour. He should be ashamed, very ashamed.

Even if Kavanaugh leans right, he clearly views the court’s role as a mini-legislature, crafting policy rather than ruling on the law. This does not bode well. Republican presidents always get snookered by at least one SCOTUS nominee, 43 has Roberts.

Renter's amnesty is now a gov't program.
Has any gov't program ever been temporary?
I think we just lost our property right, whether we're landlords or not.

Why are conservatives so timid? When you criticize them, they curl up into the fetal position and whimper softly.

No excuse for Kavanaugh #1. He was put in that position to make the honest verdicts not to be a coward. This is very disappointing. What is being done to landlords is wrong and getting out of hand.

FTA: "No one is going to take the Federalist Society and their 'vetted' lists seriously again if that is the result."
Why were they taken seriously to begin with? Washington think tanks are all the same. What they think about is how to position themselves for a little power and fame...and contributions. The politicians plump and steer for their particular favorite. And ultimately the President chooses and nominates. Remember when "conservatives" were one vote away? Seems like it's more than that today. Ike learned his lesson with "conservative" Earl Warren, to his everlasting regret. FPDT has a handful of "conservative-originalist" disappointments that we and our children will live with for decades.

Busy with Life 101. I missed Kavanaugh’s vote. This is a big hit on America’s landlords, many/most of whom are middle class… Bonchie previously said Kavanaugh had a “gelatinous spine”… Landlords should remember this in 2022 and 2024...
