American Express, which made a $2.3 billion profit last quarter, invited the great-grandson of the Nation of Islam’s founder to tell its employees that capitalism is evil.
It was part of the credit-card giant’s critical-race-theory training program, which asks workers to deconstruct their racial and sexual identities, then rank themselves on a hierarchy of “privilege.”(Snip)In another handout, the instructions for white employees are even more explicit: “identify the privileges or advantages you have”; “don’t speak over members of the black and African-American community”; “it’s not about your intent, it’s about the impact you have on your colleague.”

Olympic gymnast Simone Biles said Monday evening that she is “very much” pro-abortion as “someone who was in the foster care system.” (Snip) Biles also criticized those who suggest putting a baby up for adoption, saying, “It’s not that easy & coming from someone who was in the foster care system TRUST me. & adoption is expensive…I’m just saying. Foster care system is broken & it’s TOUGH. Especially on the kids & young adults who age out.”

Former President Barack Obama dialed back his planned 700-person birthday bash, set to take place this weekend, after sustained criticism for the large-scale gathering at a time when Democrats are telling ordinary Americans to hunker down or wear masks. But that’s just the tip of the hypocrisy iceberg.
Obama is using his birthday to raise funds for his planned “presidential center,”(Snip)Chicago, which has massive pension debt and an impoverished tax base, agreed to essentially give the land to the private group in the form of a 99-year “land use agreement” for a sum of $10. Epstein estimates the value of the land at $200 million.

A coalition of housing groups led by the Alabama Association of Realtors on Thursday filed a lawsuit in federal court in Washington, D.C., challenging the latest eviction moratorium, calling the Biden administration's action "nakedly political" and "unlawful." "[T]he CDC caved to the political pressure by extending the moratorium, without providing any legal basis," the emergency motion says. "In substance and effect, the CDC’s latest action is an extension of the same unlawful ban on evictions that has been in effect since September 2020."
"Justice Kavanaugh’s controlling opinion was clear that the CDC could not extend the moratorium past July 31 absent ‘clear and specific congressional authorization (via new legislation),'"

U.S. wrestler Tamyra Mensah-Stock was asked a simple question by a reporter after she won gold at the Tokyo Olympics in the 68kg final over Blessing Oborududu of Nigeria. "How does it feel to represent your country like this," Mensah-Stock was asked.
"I love representing the U.S. I freaking love living there," the Olympic gold medalist said before pumping her fist, smiling, and pulling the stars and stripes tighter to her body. (Snip) Mensah-Stock, an unknown to Mainstreet USA before today’s interview after winning gold, is easily the most likable athlete to come out of the Games. Her smile, love of country, and positive nature have captured the attention

A man is demanding answers after sharing distressing footage of his elderly dad collapsing and suffering spasms as he's arrested for failing to wear a face mask in public.
The stomach-churning incident was filmed on Monday morning in Brisbane's Botanic Gardens after Queensland's lockdown was extended to stem the spread of Covid in the community.
According to the man's son, who shared the footage online, he suffers from a medical condition which causes him breathing difficulties and heart problems.
During the arrest, he fell to the floor and started to spasm, gasping for air and flailing as he tried to reach for his backpack - which contained his medication.

Tokyo - Jade Carey traveled the world for a spot in the Olympics. Germany. Qatar. Azerbaijan. Australia. (Snip) Carey earned a spot in Tokyo by taking advantage of what turned out to be a one-time-only offer by the International Gymnastics Federation. The sport’s governing body made a provision for the 2020 Games that allowed athletes to lock up an individual nominative spot if they racked up enough points at World Cup events.
So the Careys spent 16 months flying to different continents, piling up podiums on vault and floor exercise along the way. They formally accepted the spot on the eve of the U.S. Olympic Trials, even though they knew it

At the British Open golf championship last month, Collin Morikawa cantered to victory and became the first player in the event’s 161-year history to take home more than $2 million in prize money.
While that was a profitable week’s work for the young Californian, it also meant a bumper pay day for his caddie (Snip) “Life is a lot better these days than it once was,” he said. “Nobody who has a bag on the PGA or European Tours is sleeping under hedges and sharing a two-person RV with six other caddies any more. Think of their life as a reasonable middle-class American existence with the added bonus

Diversity is not the end point, but the starting line.
That’s what Sekile Nzinga believes.
Nearly three and a half months after joining Gov. J.B. Pritzker’s administration, Nzinga will get to put that theory into practice as head of a new office of equity that the governor plans to create Friday through an executive order.(Snip)Nzinga’s new office will be tasked with taking the lead on diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives, legislation and policy, as well as identifying barriers to equity, for the state and coordinating trainings.

Chicago — Lollapalooza officials announced masks will be required by all patrons in any indoor spaces at Grant Park beginning Saturday, based on advice from the Chicago Department of Public Health. The requirement is in place for all attendees regardless of vaccination status (Snip) The announcement comes as state and local health officials are grappling with a rapid rise of COVID-19 cases, many of which can be attributed to the more contagious Delta variant. Illinois has reported over 11,600 new COVID-19 cases over the last 7 days, although COVID-19 patients comprise just 4 percent of total hospitalizations and 7 percent of ICU beds.
