This week’s White House Report Card finds President Joe Biden bumping along a rocky path that includes a surging border crisis, spreading inflation, concerns about his infrastructure bill, a wobbly CNN town hall, and a weak show against Russia. Democratic pollster John Zogby gave one of his lowest grades of the new administration, a D-, and cited “a miserable week” that also included a court loss for Biden’s amnesty plan for illegal immigrants brought into the United States as children. Conservative analyst Jed Babbin also graded a D- and focused on the government’s wild spending that could push inflation further.

Communist China is refusing to comply with further investigation into the Wuhan lab, located in the city the pandemic originated. While the Chinese Communist Party throws a fit about the “shocking” and “offensive” proposal by the World Health Organization to audit Chinese labs claiming it projects “arrogance towards science,” some U.S. legislators haven’t given up on finding where COVID-19 came from and who needs to be held responsible for unleashing the virus on the world. Last week, the bipartisan House Appropriations Committee voted to ban funding for the Wuhan Institute of Virology

The 2020 Olympics officially got underway on Saturday with the first 11 of 339 gold medals, plus their silver and bronze siblings, meeting their new owners in Tokyo. For the first time in nearly a half-century of the Summer Olympics, none of those new owners were American. According to Olympic historian Bill Mallon, it was the first medal-less Day 1 for the United States since Munich in 1972. While a medal-less Day 1 isn't infrequent in the Winter Olympics for the U.S. — the same thing happened in 2018 at Pyeongchang — the only other time the United States didn't have a

According to the leftist "narrative," the migrant-child border surge and Biden administration's work to open the borders to "unaccompanied minors" entering the country illegally are just his being humanitarian and all: "The idea that I'm going to say, which I would never do, if an unaccompanied child ends up at the border we're going to let them starve to death and stay on the other side, no previous administration did that either, except Trump. I'm not going to do it. I'm not going to do it," Biden told ABC's Cecilia Vega. (Snip) But as the child-migrant surge proceeds as a result, it's getting obvious that something un-humanitarian is happening to them

Drone video captured the moment police fatally shot a 19-year-old man after he pointed a gun at an officer — a weapon that turned out to be a "real-looking" BB gun, authorities said. The man, Gerardo Martinez, 19, was fatally shot by Salinas Police Officer Mario Reyes on Friday night, Monterey County District Attorney Jeannine M. Pacioni said in a statement. On Monday, Monterey County district lawyer Jannin Pasioni updated the public about what happened before and after police officer Mario Reyes fired three rounds at Gerald Martinez. The office also released a deadly shooting drone footage included in this report.

Excessive taxes, spending, and government regulation have once again gripped America thanks to the policies of Biden, Harris, and the progressives. The predictable result is higher prices for everything and a repeat of the Carter Misery Index from which President Reagan rescued us beginning in 1981. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, and as confirmed by Americans for Tax Reform, since January 2021: Gasoline prices have increased by

LIFE ELEVATED, Utah’s state slogan, well describes the geology (high desert, mountains), the culture (adventurous), and the almost endless opportunities for outdoor recreation (world-class skiing, hiking, fishing, biking, hunting, golfing, etc.) and affirms living rather than merely existing – not bad for only two words! Contrast this with many places struggling through the COVID and BLM hell of 2020 and beyond.Consider someone with means spending the last year locked down in Portland, Seattle, Minneapolis, Chicago, NYC, San Francisco, et al in a cramped apartment among a sea of cramped apartment buildings. With edicts and “Karens” preventing enjoying even a walk in the park let alone dinner out,

Two centrist sources, one of them explicitly Democratic, provided further reasons why Congress should reject the Democratic Party's massive $3.5 trillion “reconciliation” spending bill. The best new reason to oppose Democrats' massive, $3.5 trillion reconciliation spending bill is that even its outlandish price tag represents an exercise in budgetary sleight of hand. In other words, it is a lie.The Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget — a respected, non-partisan arbiter — notes in a statement that its true cost "could exceed $5 trillion.”

That doesn’t mean tomorrow, former FDA commissioner Scott Gottlieb tells CNBC. The CDC hasn’t provided any modeling on the Delta wave yet, which Gottlieb finds odd, but other academic institutions have produced some models — and those suggest that the peak might come as soon as next month: “I think the bottom line is we’re going to see continued growth, at least in the next three to four weeks. There’s going to be a peak sometime probably around late August, early September,” Gottlieb said on “Squawk Box.” “I happen to believe that we’re further into this delta wave than we’re measuring so this may be over sooner than we think.

A cyber security media outlet called The Record is reporting that the NSA, after an investigation of themselves, say that they weren’t targeting or spying on Tucker Carlson. Oh, goodie, I’m always comforted when government agencies investigate themselves. Especially given the sketchy statement that they put out when the issue exploded last month. Attorney Harmeet Dhillon went through some of the problems with the statement. What they are admitting, at least according to this report, was that his name came up in a discussion and his name was unmasked when some government official asked for it to be. Fox was furious at the report. From The Record: “For the NSA to unmask

Alabama Governor Kay Ivey (R) turned her ire toward unvaccinated people on Friday and blamed them for the rise in Covid cases. Kay Ivey dehumanized unvaccinated people and put a target on their backs. Ivey referred to vaccinated people as “regular folks” – so unvaccinated people are now “others” – this rhetoric is dangerous and must be denounced. “Folks are supposed to have common sense. But it’s time to start blaming the unvaccinated folks, not the regular folks. It’s the unvaccinated folks that are letting us down,” Ivey told reporters in Birmingham.
