Washington Post Warns: Calling Food ‘Exotic’

Referring to food as “exotic” creates distance between individuals and groups and “reinforces xenophobia and racism,” according to a recent Washington Post article which, instead, suggests people ask themselves why they are unfamiliar with certain foods and question their willingness to change that. The Thursday article, written by the paper’s food section staff writer, Daniela Galarza, and titled “Stop calling food ‘exotic,’” begins by quoting a couple who praised Afghan restaurants and referred to the cuisine served as “exotic,” in an old Post essay. Though she admitted the couple “meant no harm,” their use of the term “exotic” indicates that they see the world through a “presumptive Anglocentric perspective,” according to Galarza.

Every single day individuals who can actually still THINK make discriminatory decisions on all aspects of their lives. But the Thought Police, in the GUISE of the Post, must discriminate against those who discriminate. A such most such discriminatory decisions are deemed racist by those who are unqualified to "deem" ANYTHING. Choose (discriminate between) coffee or tea and the Thought Police will tell you why you are a racist for that choice ... anything to create fear, guilt, indecision, or second guessing oneself such that someone else is enabled to TELL YOU WHAT A BAD PERSON YOU ARE. Allow this utter stupidity to rule your every move (as those obsessed with big tech DO) and you will deserve exactly what you get: transformation into a SHEEP.

Oh just shut up you East Coast Elitist! To someone who always eats hot dogs, an Italian sausage may seem exotic. Someone used to boxed cookies might find bakery cookies exotic. It is not racist to enjoy and acknowledge that something is different than you are used to. You might like it or might dislike it. If you like it thats great. If you don't like it, that's ok too. It doesn't mean you are racist. It means you didn't like the food item. Stop being so PC and sensitive.

No, it doesn't. Exotic simply means "originating in or characteristic of a distant foreign country." Write about something that matters, without lying, if you can, and stop trying to find xenophobia and racism everywhere you look. You might have more luck looking in the mirror.

Christina Pushaw, press secretary for Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R), slammed the media Thursday in reaction to a report which failed to mention that a 2008 Florida law, which could have ushered in repairs for the collapsed Surfside condo, was repealed under former Gov. Charlie Crist’s (D) leadership — a significant point, as he is vying to challenge DeSantis in the upcoming gubernatorial race. An NBC Miami report details the repealed 2008 Florida law, which some experts surmise would have expedited multimillion-dollar repairs needed at the Surfside condo, which collapsed last month, resulting in at least 68 dead and dozens of others missing.

MSNBC’s Al Sharpton on Friday warned that the United States is “on the precipice of” eroding the voting rights of minorities. Sharpton, who was part of a group of civil rights leaders that recently met with President Joe Biden to discuss battling new voting restrictions put in place in some Republican-led states, said on “Morning Joe” that he and other protesters will “turn up the street heat” to fight for voting rights because they “cannot sit by and allow them to erode our voting rights.” “We met with Joe Manchin, eight of us a couple of weeks ago, and he even convened 13 Republicans that met with us by Zoom,” Sharpton advised.

Search teams recovered 15 more victims in the Surfside, Florida condo building collapse as of Friday afternoon, bringing the death toll to 79, Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava said at a Friday afternoon press conference. "This is a staggering and heartbreaking number that affects all of us very, very deeply," she said earlier Friday. Fifty-three of the 79 victims have been identified, and another 61 people are potentially unaccounted for, Cava said. Amid the devastation, Cava announced a bit of good news: A black cat named Binx, who lived on the ninth floor of the building, was reunited with its family on Friday.

I voted for Donald Trump twice, but that has nothing to do with my hesitancy to get the vaccine. I'm a Christian, and that has nothing to do with it, either. Even the fact that I had COVID and should be immune doesn't matter to me. My reason is based on science and science alone. It's still an experimental vaccine; it doesn't have FDA approval; and although mRNA vaccines have been studied for years, they were not used before. My biggest fear of the vaccine is that I can't get any information about why mRNA vaccines were not used before COVID.

One executive sees no end in sight for gas above $3.00 per gallon. Patrick de Hann — the Head of Petroleum Analysis for GasBuddy — said on FOX Business’ “Cavuto: Coast to Coast” that gas prices may remain high through the summer. “Traditionally we see gas prices start declining in mid-to-late August as we start to see things [going] back to normal, kids going back to school, vacations basically ending,” de Hann remarked. “This year, though, I think the concern is that…the normal seasonal down-turning could be mitigated by the fact that offices are starting to see returns by fall and so commutes could start to increase.”

While the U.S. media frequently look the other way at President Joe Biden’s verbal and intellectual foibles, foreign media have questioned the president’s mental acuity. Australian reporters have lamented that “the leader of the free world” is “struggling,” “barely cogent,” and a “human corpse” who has sunken deep into “cognitive decline.” Those quotations come from Sky News Australia, the center-right cable news network launched in 1996 by NewsCorp Australia. Its collection of hosts and journalists have told their growing audience what many in the U.S. media have refused to say: Joe Biden’s declining intellectual capabilities threaten all Western democracies.

When I appeared on a Heritage Foundation panel discussion in 2019, I said people are manufacturing trans gender kids. They are hurting the most vulnerable members of our society by encouraging children and adolescents to live as the opposite sex, inject hormone blockers and cross-gender hormones, and undergo surgeries that irrevocably alter healthy body parts. These protocols are dangerous and unstudied, and shouldn’t be pushed on children. Yet this madness rages on like an unchecked forest fire. I was a transgender child who “transitioned” to female as an adult. I lived as female for eight years, until I woke up and admitted it wasn’t working.
