Covid passports 'WILL be compulsory in

Britons will need Covid certificates to enter pubs, bars, restaurants and clubs under plans to stop a fourth wave of the virus in the autumn. Experts hope the move will boost the stalling vaccination rates among young people and stave off another surge in cases. The proposals would see entertainment venues in England demanding vaccination passports as proof of either two doses or a recent negative test. The Government's certification review release earlier in the week said although the so-called vaccine passports would not be mandated now, it did not rule out the prospect if England faces 'a difficult situation in autumn or winter'.

We had all our tickets paid for, hotel reservations, race tickets, driving school tickets, and much more for our 2020 UK vacation. All cancelled, and couldn't get any of the venues to guarantee that they would be open, so cancelled again for 2021. I may never visit UK again. There were several things that I still wanted to see and do, and I really enjoyed driving on the Goodwood racetrack, plus watching the vintage races. Oh, well. Brits are clearly deranged, as a country, and Boris is such a total disappointment. What a fool.

Twenty years ago in response to draconian DUI laws I built a beautiful bar in my garage. Fully stocked with booze and soft drinks, had a dance floor, disco lights, lasers (later), nice sound system, fun decorations and even a few little cafe tables. Drinks were free and if you needed to crash I had a living room, a parlor and a guest bedroom. I've moved since then and had to relocate the bar to the new basement. Dance floor is much smaller and no parlor anymore. The place is still a blast and no government rules. No mask, no problem. Want to smoke? Have at it. Moonshine is available on request, as well as regular booze and lots of beer and wine. Who needs places that have to obey rules? Freedom is important, not government requirements.

Hey #1. I always check out your posts. They're informative and interesting. You have received many "likes" from me. But calling all Brits deranged is out of line. I was one before leaving in 1966. Go over there again, into the lesser traveled places. You will find the English, like Americans, have had it with their government. Sometimes we start something and they follow. And they start something and we're not far behind. Countries that have marauding tribes the exception, I do think most people of the world want what we want and have, sometimes. Check out the leaders and their parties. They're the ones that dream up these restrictions. Look at the people in the pubs and the parks. We're pretty much alike.

Of course, you are exactly right, #7. I tried to clarify with the "as a country" addition.....and clearly failed. Frankly, the USA is clearly deranged AS A COUNTRY these days, too, sad to say. Lots of fine people....but the things we are doing officially as a country, are wrong, stupid and terrible. We have leaders doing wrong headed things. I have met a lot of great Brits, and really have enjoyed visiting, even made friends with some. But the current leaders, like our current leaders, aren't doing well.

I've been to the UK many times, mostly for business but a few for vacation. The best thing about going there is the foreign food. The worst thing is the British food. I had never taken 2 bites and spat out a meal before but it was truly inedible. I'm not sure how they managed to make a simple sandwich so horrible but they did it. A special cultural talent for sure. As far as passports and the rest of the UK control creamery goes, remember Oceana in 1984 was Britain. He chose there for a good reason.

More businesses will close and more people will be without employment. Marx never worked. First his father and then his wife supported him, and his thesis was completed by someone else - too lazy to do it himself. Not too concerned about personal hygiene either. Fathered a child with one of his household help and forever after ignored the child, only allowing her to enter his home through the back door. Still a lot of people think there is something positive about Marxism. They must want to be controlled, or, more likely, like to control.

Millions of dead, a hobbled economy, unknown numbers of citizens damaged financially, psychologically, emotionally, and China sits back grinning like the Cheshire Cat. In a time when MAD eliminates the possibility of using nuclear weapons, the Chinese Communist Party figured out how to wage a devastating war against America and against the world without suffering any repercussions. Don't think you have seen the end of this kind of attack. It worked far too well not to be repeated.

We visited Ireland a few years back and met two very nice English women and had a very eye opening conversation. They did not like at all the direction their country was going. In particular, they did not like their immigration policies. This was in the early 90’s and even as Londoners then there were places that they would not dare venture into and that upset them quite badly. It is a shame what happens to a country when you bring in massive numbers of people who do not respect your culture. They do, however, enjoy the benefits they are given. They also know if they get into politics they can make a huge difference in the country and not in a good way and they have. These ladies were very saddened by what their country had become and my husband and I were so saddened by their stories. They clearly loved their country but they just didn’t know if the very aspects of what had made their lives so lovely would continue for their children and grandchildren. The UK is unbelievably beautiful with its quaint villages and towns, but even the best of places can be destroyed when men with evil intentions gain power. The most devastating policies usually begin with good intentions. Many Brits have embraced the globalist worldview and they have been swallowed up in its madness. This one world agenda will destroy Western Civilization as we know it if it is allowed to proceed to its conclusion. It means to create countries that devolve into tribalistic factions which make it easier for the global overlords to control the population. I don’t expect the monarchy to last beyond Queen Elizabeth. Upon her death, the country will be up for grabs and I don’t see how Prince Charles can prevail. The media will swoop in and declare the monarchy racist and that will be the end of that. Prince Harry, unbelievably, seems to want to usher that in probably due to the influence of his very woke wife. It appears that the Globalist worshippers are everywhere doing the evil bidding of their masters.

It's happening where I live (Cyprus). They are essentially forcing people to be vaccinated. If you can't prove you have been vaccinated or had a test in the past 72 hours, you cannot enter a restaurant (not even eating outdoors), a bar, a club, a department store or mall, a hotel. Up until yesterday the police were checking and fining people, now they are requiring the businesses to check your vaccine/test status. The police will fine both you and the business if you violate the decree (it's a decree, not a law). Some businesses say they will refuse to check a person's vaccine/test status - good for them. The tests here have been free, but starting 1 August we will have to pay for them ( 20 euros). I am furious about this. I am holding out for as long as I can. And to those who say that the Brits will not stand for this, think again. There is a huge British population in Cyprus and they see nothing wrong with the draconian measures here. And protesting has just been made illegal in the UK.

The administration of Democratic Gov. The Pennsylvania Department of State said in a two-page directive that the request by state Sen. " Such access by third parties undermines chain of custody requirements and strict access limitations necessary to prevent both intentional and inadvertent tampering with electronic voting systems,” the department said.

Increasingly, Americans are trusting the media sources less and less that they used to rely on unquestionably to keep them informed but that is the fault of those same media outlets, not the people who distrust them.Americans, and especially conservatives, already had their doubts about the veracity of many in the “mainstream media” after eight years of sycophantic treatment of Barack Obama. But after four years of Donald Trump, a wide majority of Americans now see the media for what it is: A dishonest gaggle of partisan Democrats who serve as that party’s propaganda wing.

Crowds cheered as workers removed a statue of Confederate General Robert E. Lee in Charlottesville, Virginia on Saturday morning following a contentious four year legal battle. The 26-foot tall bronze monument - which has stood in the city's Emancipation Park since 1924 and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1997 - was hoisted off it base with a crane shortly after 8am. It will now be placed in storage. A separate statue of Confederate General Thomas 'Stonewall' Jackson will also be removed in Charlottesville on Saturday afternoon. Both Lee and Jackson fought against the abolition of slavery in the US Civil War.

The administration of Democratic Gov. Tom Wolf of Pennsylvania has ordered counties not to comply with a Republican state senator’s request for voting data to be used in an audit of the 2020 election. The Pennsylvania Department of State said in a two-page directive that the request by state Sen. Doug Mastriano of Franklin County, an ally of former President Donald Trump, “jeopardizes the security and integrity” of the counties’ voting systems. " Such access by third parties undermines chain of custody requirements and strict access limitations necessary to prevent both intentional and inadvertent tampering with electronic voting systems,” the department said.

Haitian government officials said they’ve asked the United States to deploy troops in an auxiliary effort to help shield Haiti’s infrastructure from attack amid the political turbulence the country is experiencing after President Jovenel Moïse’s sudden assassination Wednesday. They requested U.S. forces to help protect Haiti’s port, airport, gasoline reserves, and other facilities. There are concerns that the leader’s murder could exacerbate the already fraught situation in the country, which is afflicted by civil unrest, economic instability, gang violence, and a COVID public health crisis, among other woes.

Carve out some time this weekend for this WSJ piece, one of the best hate-reads I’ve had in ages. It’s long but I promise that it’s worth it. How often do you a read a major investigative piece in which literally every person mentioned in it sucks? The Journal pulls back the curtain on a preposterous higher-education scam run by corrupt elite universities like Columbia at the expense of imbeciles who can’t manage a budget and lavishly enabled by the federal government, which of course also can’t manage a budget. During the Bush era, the feds passed a new loan program called Grad Plus
