In one of the most liberal places in the U.S. — New York City — a Democratic primary for mayorship shows a microcosm of how the majority of the public takes to “defunding the police” campaigns and attitudes.Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams, a former NYPD officer, currently leads Maya Wiley, who is endorsed by Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, by over nine points with 82% reporting in the Democratic mayoral primary. One of the reasons Adams was leading in prior polls is that people of NYC were made weary with high crime rates. Eric Adams promised to take a tough approach to the streets and Maya Wiley called for defunding the police.

I don't remember much of Orwell's 1984 from my jr. high days, but I DO remember that seemingly overnight, the government suddenly did a 180 - its former enemy of many years was now spoken of as its ally and friend, and its ally was now its enemy. Such a blatant reversal reminds me of this Dem tactic.

Typical DIm propaganda. no funding was "cut", the bill was to provide extra federal funds not normally provided. Besides, why should the Feds be funding local law enforcement? Federal funding leads to federal control. I don't want Gestapo in my city. The dim political trick is always to pack a favorable bill with pork and when the repubs don't vote for it the dims scream the repubs are heartless.

They Marxists lib candidates can promise whatever, but in the end they still want to weaken law enforcement. Once the anarchy and chaos gets out of control, they'll initiate a federal police force to solve the "crisis" and outlaw local forces they can't control. And we have seen how a federal law enforcement goon squad can grow into an diabolical cabal. Yesterday, the Louisiana State Police arrested David Harris, a career FBI agent, for numerous sex crimes involving young children, aggravated crimes against nature and indecent behavior with juveniles, obscenity, and witness intimidation. He faces charges of sexual battery and attempted third-degree rape. Amazingly, he most recently was assigned to head up a regional division of the FBI that investigates online crimes against children, including child porn. It seems he was passionate about his work. This story has been barely covered in the media, but is just another example of the current state of the FBI. They're too busy arresting Trump supporters while an agent abuses children right under their nose. And just like in the Maxwell case, we're not allowed to see the details. Charges have been made secret as "Harris’ entire arrest record has been ordered to be sealed from the general public." What the hell is going on?

#13, I find that withholding information from the public about what this FBI agent, David Harris, did is extremely disturbing. After everything we see and hear about criminal behavior, the evidence in this case is just too heinous? Come on, man! Do you think they could be setting up an excuse to without all the details in the Maxwell/Epstein matter? Now we wouldn’t want to know what our better have been up to now, would we? The absolute hubris of this depraved anti-American party and its followers is disgusting! Their behavior despite how horrific it would be would surprise no one. Trying to claim Republicans want to defund the police is absurd. However, democrats believe they have such a hold on the population that they will believe whatever they say. Frankly, I don’t believe a word that comes out of the mouth of a democrat and I believe only half of what comes out of the mouth of a Republican. The corrupt political class are to be loathed and never ever trusted. In fact, I would more clearly describe them as enemies in every sense of the word.
