Are you ready for more shutdowns? Reports show virus numbers rising, and some governors are cracking down. But if you’re in America’s two largest Republican hotbeds, you may not have to worry about singing the shelter-in-place blues. Both the Sunshine and the Longhorn states have made clear: There’ll be no increased clampdown. As relayed by the Texas Tribune Wednesday, Gov. Greg Abbott said he won’t impose “any more lockdowns.” Rather, Greg wants to focus on “working to heal those who have Covid.” The goal: Those infected leaving hospitals and getting back to their normal lives.

Barack Obama allowed female staffers to be sidelined by their male colleagues because of his own ‘tolerance for a towel slapping atmosphere' in the White House. In his memoir the former president writes that he learned of a ‘deepening dissatisfaction’ among senior women in his administration that was a ‘blind spot’ for him. The women were sick of men talking over them or passing off their ideas as their own during high level meetings, Obama writes in ‘A Promised Land’. As a result they felt ‘diminished, ignored and increasingly reluctant to voice their opinions’—and some broke down in tears.

With little more than a month to go in 2020, many Americans are only too happy to see the year pass. While there are still pending legal challenges from President Trump’s campaign, a year that went south early on when the Chinese plague came calling seemed to reach its low point when a complicit media rushed to call the 2020 election in favor of their guy, Joe Biden — who may or may not be in the early stages of senility. But then, the iconic 2020 Rockefeller Center Christmas tree made its grand debut in midtown Manhattan and we learned that the year’s disappointments were not done,

We’ve reported on multiple incidents of ‘glitches’ that people observed related to the 2020 Presidential Election. These incidents seem odd and so we sought out and found a data set from the 2020 Presidential election. A group of IT patriots analyzed a data set of election vote data and found millions of votes in the election that were either lost or transferred from President Trump to Joe Biden. We reported this and our post was retweeted by the President. Although the poorly documented, sudden appearance, of thousands of "Biden" ballots may appear to be fraud, it's not proof. And in any event, they're mixed in with the full ballot pool, and can't be disentangled. Or can they? Let's consider the dumping scenario. Due to the limited time frame required to falsify ballots, it's likely that only a limited number of people participated. So what does this mean? It means that (1) the same sets of fingerprints should appear on multiple ballots (likely in the same place(s) on the ballot), and (2) these identifiers won't match known voting ballot handlers (eg election workers or ballot manufacturers).

The publication of Barack Obama’s new memoir Tuesday was timed to carry the news cycle regardless of the election’s outcome. The opinions expressed in “A Promised Land”—on America, race, Donald Trump, and so on—are more vivid than anything the Democratic candidate has said in his last year of campaigning. And so even after Joe Biden and the press corps have declared him president-elect, he continues to walk in the shadow of his former boss. That is intentional. Obama wants it understood that Biden is an avatar for a third Obama term. Now he can complete the work of “fundamentally transforming America,” as he put it days before the 2008 election.

It should surprise no one that Nevada has problems with election security and voter fraud, especially after the state mailed an absentee ballot to every registered voter this year whether he requested one or not, then received back more than eight times as many mail-in ballots as they did in 2016. That’s part of the reason Republicans in Nevada filed another lawsuit on Tuesday alleging widespread voter fraud and irregularities.

Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) is in listening mode as colleagues are venting their disappointment over falling short once again of winning back the Senate majority. Schumer has presided over two conference calls in which his fellow Democratic senators analyzed the disappointing results of races in Iowa, Maine, Montana, North Carolina where they thought they had a chance to knock off GOP incumbents. So many Democratic senators wanted to speak out during last week’s call that Schumer scheduled a rare Sunday conference call to give them a second chance to unburden themselves. The senators spent close to 90 minutes

Twenty-five years ago, I met Scott Morris, when we both worked at The Weekly Standard. He asked, “What kind of conservative are you? What is the basis of your conservatism?” I attempted a couple of answers, which did not satisfy him. Scott was an intellectual, who had studied philosophy, including over in Oxford. Finally, I said to him, “Look, Scott, I’m a simple fellow: I just hate the Reds. Hate, hate, hate the Reds.” He laughed and laughed, and let me off the hook, for a while.

The lockdown hammer landed hard on California and several other states Monday. At one time it seemed absurd to think government officials’ pandemic orders were a dry run for future attempts to confine and subjugate the country to mitigate global warming. It’s time we rethink that. Observant and cunning politicians have gone to school since March and are now likely convinced they can use the pretext of a climate emergency to control Americans and break the back of capitalism. No, we’re not likely to see the open-ended lockdowns we’re enduring during the coronavirus outbreak. Those would be too obvious. Politicians

REDDING — A man wanted for his role in an alleged $35 million Ponzi scheme was arrested Monday after evading FBI agents by swimming into California’s largest reservoir using an underwater “sea scooter,” federal prosecutors said. Matthew Piercey spent nearly 30 minutes in frigid Lake Shasta using the Yamaha 350Li submersible device before he eventually resurfaced and was handcuffed, the Sacramento Bee reported. It wasn't immediately known if the 44-year-old has an attorney. When agents went to arrest Piercey, he hopped in a pickup and led them on a chase that ended at the shoreline of the lake north of Redding.

American voters sent a clear signal in this election that while they are ready to move on from President Trump, they are wary of giving Democrats the power to impose a sweeping left-wing agenda. In a best-case scenario for Democrats, the Biden administration will start with a smaller Democratic majority in the House and a 50-50 Senate. If Republicans can win just one of the two Georgia Senate runoff races, Democrats will be stuck in the minority in the upper chamber. Preparing for that possibility, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer is urging President-elect Joe Biden to bypass Congress to wipe away student loan debt.

Ahead of the 2020 election, Cook listed 27 races as “toss-ups,” meaning they were too close to predict one way or the other. Republicans won all 27.That’s not a typo. The newly unearthed comments threaten to complicate Warnock's candidacy in a tight Georgia Senate race: Georgia is home to the fifth largest active duty military population in the country, according to a 2018 Department of Defense report. "America, nobody can serve God and the military," Warnock said in the sermon delivered at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta, where he serves as senior pastor. "You can't serve God and money. House Democrats are re-electing their entire leadership, despite the most embarrassing showing by their party in House races since at least 2010. In short, they took a “shell-ack-in.” With just a few races uncalled (and Republicans leading in 4 of 5 contests), Democrats have lost nine seats. What makes those losses doubly painful was explained by Dave Wasserman of the Cook Political Report:(Snip for tweet) The Iowa race for District 2 features Republican Marianette Meeks-Miller against Democrat Rita Hart. With nearly 400,000 votes cast, Miller-Meeks leads by just 47 votes in this Democratic district. Pelley kicked off the misdirection with the question, “Did you watch the video of George Floyd’s strangulation?” Yes, strangulation. Knowing Obama’s weakness for racial scare-mongering, I was not at all surprised by his refusal to correct Pelley. He probably did not know enough to do so in any case. “Of course,” said Obama. “It was heartbreaking.” He then blathered on about an African-American “reality” that exists only in America’s newsrooms. Joseph’s life took a sharp turn when his brothers sold him into slavery because of that coat.
