Activist and free agent NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick called for the release of Mumia Abu-Jamal, a former Black Panther who was convicted of killing a White Philadelphia police officer in 1981. He made the comments during a virtual conference with supporters fighting for his release on Monday. "We're in the midst of a movement that says 'Black Lives Matter.' And if that's truly the case, then it means that Mumia's life and legacy must matter," Kaepernick said in a video statement. "And the causes that he sacrificed his life and freedom for must matter as well." Abu-Jamal, a former radio

Comments:

I assume the Georgia Democrat Senate candidates will fully embrace Kaepernick's plea.

WASHINGTON — Heading into the election, Democrats dreamed it would go something like Star Wars, with rebel forces blowing up the Death Star and celebrating in the streets as a blue wave swept them into power in Washington and state capitals across the country. In the wake of weekslong public attacks on the slogan by Democratic elected officials, movement leaders are mulling counteroffensives to push back on the criticism. A major theme of any response would be that moderate Democrats have failed to produce evidence to prove that the “defund” push caused unexpected defeats in House and Senate races. That baseline question is not dependent on any answer within a court or Trump campaign team filing. That question is simply a matter of investigative journalism finding out… but they are disinterested. If the U.S. uses election machinery that is capable of being manipulated, that alone should initiate a serious line of inquiry about why such a function would even be present. Why would any ballot counting machine even need to have a feature to shift votes or change outcomes?
