Protesters have drawn national attention after setting a fire inside the Portland Police Association building Saturday night.
Portland Police said around 10:45, protesters broke into the PPA’s building and almost immediately started a fire.
The building on North Lombard Street is still covered with graffiti and remnants from the fire set Saturday night are still scattered inside.
Ash Leabenworth lives a few houses down from the PPA and said while it’s scary to see this happening on his street, he says dramatic action needs to be taken in order for change to happen.

Chicago may see an influx of federal agents as soon as this week as President Donald Trump readies to make good on repeated pledges he would try to tamp down violence here, a move that would come amid growing controversy nationally about federal force being used in American cities. The U.S. Department of Homeland Security is crafting plans to deploy about 150 federal agents to Chicago this week, the Chicago Tribune has learned, a move that would come amid growing controversy nationally about federal force being used in American cities.
The Homeland Security Investigations, or HSI, agents are set to assist other federal law enforcement and Chicago police in crime-fighting efforts, according to sources familiar with the matter, though a specific plan on what the agents will be doing had not been made public.
One city official said the city was aware of the plan but not any specifics. The Chicago Police Department had no immediate comment.

Before you open this book or turn a page, look at the cover. What do we see? A handsome, young Donald Trump, in dashing cadet uniform, during one of the finest periods of his life. In his five years at New York Military Academy, he reaped undiluted acclaim from faculty and classmates — a model student in behavior and academics, popular with classmates, a star athlete elected to the school's Athletic Hall of Fame, garnering offers from Major League Baseball. For a book entitled Too Much and Not Enough: How My Family Created the World's Most Dangerous Man, what is the meaning of this charming cover?

The last thing you want to hear from your brain surgeon (aside from “Oops”) is “Wow, I’ve always wanted to do one of these.” You’ll feel a lot better hearing, “I’ve done 30 operations like this over the past month.” Expertise like that is essential for brain surgery . . . and much, much more. Our modern world is built upon it. We need such expert advice as we decide whether to open schools this fall, and we should turn to educators, physicians, and economists to get it. But ultimately we, as citizens and the local officials we elect, should make the choices.

President Donald Trump is one step closer to putting an end to Barack Obama’s disastrous housing rules that would give the federal government full control of how suburban homes are built, where they are built, and who is allowed to live in them. Just before he walked out of the White House door for the last time, Obama’s administration passed regulations with the Orwellian title of the Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing (AFFH) rule. The plan would give the federal government full control of what sort of houses are built in every American community, in part by requiring a certain amount of low-income housing to be part of every suburban subdivision.

“While this approach to product naming may have been rooted in a lighthearted attempt at inclusiveness, we recognize that it may now have the opposite effect — one that is contrary to the welcoming, rewarding customer experience we strive to create every day,” Trader Joe’s spokeswoman Kenya Friend-Daniel said in a statement.

But I can’t help but think that in current conditions the polls are not only not worth the paper they’re printed on, digital or otherwise, they’re about as accurate as a thermometer run over by a six-wheeler.
No one sensible is talking about their political allegiance these days in public—especially to an anonymous pollster.

Why? Because it’s “misogynistic.”

Democrats learned the hard way 10 years ago that elections leading up to a decennial census aren't just about the White House.
State-based Democratic parties are jostling for power in their legislatures so they can exert some influence on the congressional and local redistricting process set to take place in 2021 after the 2020 census.
Doing so can help them tip congressional contests in their favor or secure control of their statehouses until the next decade's headcount when it's constitutionally mandated that district maps be re-drawn. If they don't have independent redistricting commissions, that is.

Police later said they used pepper balls and a can of pepper spray to disperse part of the larger BLM supporters crowd, after some people "made aggressive moves" toward officers. The protesters said there was no reason for police to use the spray. Joe Biden signed the death warrant for his campaign last week, even if he doesn’t know it. The joint manifesto he released with Bernie Sanders is 110 pages of radical far-left policies — from a job-killing $2 trillion climate agenda to eliminating cash bail and dismantling border protection.
It betrays the working-class voters Biden claims to represent and destroys any pretense that he is a “moderate.”
As Sanders has boasted, Biden would be “the most progressive president since FDR.”
Well-meaning people might stick their fingers in their ears and vote for Biden out of nostalgia for a Democratic Party that no longer exists or out of exhaustion at the relentless anti-Trump barrage.

Kentucky resident Elizabeth Linscott was planning to visit her mother in Michigan. Despite having no symptoms of the Wuhan coronavirus, Linscott decided to get tested out of an abundance of caution. Her results turned up positive and she was told to self-quarantine at home.
“My grandparents wanted to see me, too,” Linscott told WILX-TV. “So, just to make sure if I tested negative, that they would be OK, that everything would be fine.”
Once the health department alerted her to her positive test results, they wanted Linscott to sign the Self-isolation and Controlled Movement Agreed Order, a document stating she would not leave her house

The Republican National Committee (RNC), the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC), and the Florida GOP won a federal court victory upholding Florida’s ban on ballot harvesting.
Priorities USA, a progressive advocacy group, and other Democrat plaintiffs dismissed their claims in Nielsen v. DeSantis, a lawsuit challenging Florida’s ban on ballot harvesting which also aimed to force the state to count ballots that arrived after Election Day. The plaintiffs also dropped their claim that Florida needed to provide pre-paid postage on vote-by-mail ballots.
RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel said in a statement on Sunday:
Today’s victory is a win for Florida voters and a win for election integrity.

Missouri Governor Mike Parson (R) suggests he will pardon St. Louis couple Mark and Patricia McCloskey if they are charged over brandishing firearms to keep protesters from their home.
On June 28, 2020, a video was posted to Twitter showing the McCloskey’s holding firearms to protect their home: [Tweet]
On June 30, 2020, Breitbart News reported an investigation had been opened against the couple.
The New York Post quoted St. Louis Prosecutor Kimberly Gardner saying, “I am alarmed at the events that occurred over the weekend, where peaceful protestors were met by guns.”
She added, “We must protect the right to peacefully protest, and any attempt to chill it through intimidation

It was a Big Deal when New York Mayor Bill de Blasio, after asking the federal government for over $7 billion in federal aid for Wuhan virus losses, nevertheless managed to scrounge up the money to pay city workers to paint a giant “Black Lives Matter” sign on the street in front of Trump Tower. The fact that Trump lives in the White House and that de Blasio is a man running New York into the ground was irrelevant. Mayor de Blasio had made his statement.
The New York BLM sign has already been attacked several times. The most dramatic attack came from Bevelyn Beatty,

On the last full day of his life—October 6, 1966—Eduardo Tirella flew into Newport, Rhode Island, the storied summer colony of the country’s old money families. He was met at the airport by Doris Duke, the richest woman in America, and they drove to Rough Point, her 10-acre estate on Bellevue Avenue—Newport’s Millionaire’s Row. Eddie, as friends knew Tirella, had just told intimates that after a decade as the artistic curator and designer of Duke’s estates in New Jersey, Bel Air, Honolulu, and Newport, he was planning to sever his professional ties with her, for good. The polls currently show Biden in the lead, but there are reasons to suspect their accuracy. For example, in 2016, at the same time during the election cycle the polls also showed Hillary in the lead. Another problem is that many of the polls are national, which is irrelevant. We don’t have a national vote; we have fifty state votes, plus D.C. Whether Biden wins by one vote or three million votes in California, he still gets the same number of electoral college votes.
But the single most significant indicator that the polls are untrustworthy is the fact

Conservative author and activist Michelle Malkin was brutally assaulted and prevented from speaking as she made her way to the speaker’s platform at a pro-police public rally in downtown Denver on Sunday. The New York Times is standing by a February 2017 report alleging that Trump associates were in communication with Russian intelligence officers, even after the release of an internal FBI memo that identified numerous inaccuracies in the story.
“We stand by our reporting,” New York Times spokeswoman Eileen Murphy told her own paper for its report on the newly released documents.
Attorney General William Barr declassified two documents this week related to the FBI’s investigation of the Trump campaign. One released Friday is a 57-page memo of interviews that dossier author Christopher Steele’s primary source conducted with the FBI in January 2017.

Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse (D., R.I.) accused the FBI of running a bogus tip line while investigating allegations of sexual misconduct against Justice Brett Kavanaugh, the latest in a sequence of serious but unsubstantiated claims the Rhode Island Democrat has made about Kavanaugh and his confirmation process.
The senator spoke Wednesday by Zoom to an Ohio chapter of the American Constitution Society (ACS), a progressive judicial group. Three attendees told the Washington Free Beacon that Whitehouse twice asserted that the FBI operated a "fake" tip line while purporting to investigate the justice.

Joe E. Collins III grew up in South-Central Los Angeles in a neighborhood where crime literally struck home the day a drive-by shooting left bullet holes in both the windows and the family sofa. Inner city life did not faze the young man, who later joined the Navy, became a fighter-jet mechanic, saw combat in Operation Iraqi Freedom, served as a Navy recruiter, and was certified as both a financial planner and a mental health counselor.
Following the 2016 election, Mr. Collins became acutely aware of the huge populations of disenfranchised Americans, a news media which promoted outrage and politicians who were failing their constituents.

Where is the Biden boat parade? “Raise your Trump flags and sport your Trump gear to show your support at the Statue of Liberty,” the “TrumpStock NY” event page said. Boats and jet skis waved Trump 2020 flags as they cruised through the Hudson River. VIDEOS:

According to science, which we recently learned is racist except when it is useful to the libs, for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. Putting aside the gender and pallor privilege of Sir Isaac Newton that has the sociology students in Goucher College’s “Physics for Liberal Arts Majors and other Dummies" course literally shaking, his Third Law of Motion provides a glimpse of the future as the center-left and the ravenous tiger it is riding, the radical left, seek to lock in their domination of the culture through physical and social terrorism. Former House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI) claimed during a recent private event that President Donald Trump risks losing key swing states in November’s presidential election that he won in 2016, according to a Sunday report. The New York Times states: Ryan, for instance, offered a bleak assessment of Mr. Trump’s electoral standing at a recent event hosted by Solamere, a company with close ties to Senator Mitt Romney, Republican of Utah, and his family. According to a partial transcript of the comments, shared by a person close to him, the usually tight-lipped Mr. Ryan said Mr. Trump was losing key voting blocs across the Midwest and in Arizona,

We’ve been writing about Kim Gardner, the incompetent leftist St. Louis prosecutor, who is persecuting the McCloskeys for defending their home against a mob. We’ve also been encouraging readers to contribute here to the campaign of Mary Pat Carl, who is running against Gardner in next month’s primary.
The importance of this primary is highlighted by news that a George Soros-linked group has contributed $78,000 to Gardner’s campaign. This is part of Soros’ effort to undermine order in the U.S. by electing prosecutors who want to hamstring the police and go easy on criminals. His organization backed Gardner financially in 2016, and it’s doing so again this year.

You have probably never heard of Sean Ernest Ruis, but the Michigan man’s death last week marked the convergence of two current media propaganda themes — police shootings and the threat of COVID-19. The proximate cause of Ruis’s death was Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (“The Worst Governor in America”), who expanded her state’s mandatory mask policy on July 10:
Businesses in Michigan must now require all of their customers and employees to wear a face mask or face a $500 fine and other penalties.…
“Masks can reduce the chance of spreading COVID-19 by about 70 percent. …

We often hear that what this country needs is an honest conversation about race. Here’s a whole lot of “honesty” for you, from an unexpected place:
Black people are less likely than white people to be self-reliant. Black people are less likely to emphasize “rational linear” and “quantitative” thinking. They are less likely to think that “hard work is the key to success.” They believe in punctuality less, and instant gratification more, than whites do. Black people aren’t as likely to believe in a Christian God and more inclined to be tolerant of pagan or polytheistic religions.

Hours before what is expected to be the 53rd straight night of protests in the city, the head of the Portland police union said the community has “had enough.”
Portland Police Association President Daryl Turner, surrounded by 20 faith leaders, business owners, police officers and neighborhood residents, held a news conference in front of the union’s offices in North Portland. On Saturday, protesters broke in and lit a fire inside. The building itself was covered with graffiti.

At least two people were arrested in Seattle and a police officer is in the hospital Sunday after a march through downtown devolved into property damage and looting, police say.
Police said Sunday evening the demonstrators had broken out several windows of the East Precinct, then threw a device into the lobby that ignited a small fire.
The fire was later extinguished and no injuries were reported, police said.
The demonstration started between 2 and 3 p.m. near the intersection of 3rd Avenue and Pine Street. A photo posted on Seattle’s DOT traffic channel showed crowds blocking an intersection.

Members of the left are upset that Attorney General Bill Barr has appointed an immigration judge who actually respects and believes in America’s immigration laws.
“The judge, Matthew J. O’Brien, was officially named to his new position in the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) Executive Office of Immigration Review (EOIR) in June — but was just formally inducted into the largest ever corps of immigration judges along with 45 others,” Law & Order, a far-left news website, complained Saturday.
“‘From 2016 to 2020, he served as the director of research at the Federation for American Immigration Reform.’ … The group, known in immigration law circles by its acronym, FAIR,
