Mayor Lori Lightfoot wasn’t messing around when she warned of a rollback if young people didn’t stop their risky behavior. Now, bars, restaurants, gyms and salons are paying the price. (Snip) Arwady branded bars “one of the higher-risk scenarios,” in part because they’re a magnet for 18-to-29-year-olds, where cases are rising faster than any other age group in Chicago.
“People are not only talking and socializing and having fun. They’re often needing to raise their voice, project and yell. For all of those reasons, they are broadly considered one of the higher-risk settings,” she said.

Smart move. We don't want these kids to be drunk - - when they are shot to death.

She suggests that you take a walk on the southside of Chicago instead. Wave at the Census Cowboy before you get shot in the head.

The Mrs. and I were considering a little getaway to Chicago at the end of the month. But between the riots er I mean "peaceful protests" and the iron fisted shutdown rules, we called it off. That's several hundred $$ worth of spending that we won't be sending Chicago's way.

There must be a time when enough Americans get tired of this crap and tell Government to shove it.

Re #5 -- If I were Mrs. Know-It-All, I'd send you to Chicago for vacation by yourself and I'd use my share to buy lots of term life insurance on you. And not worry about paying the second or third month premiums.

Smart move. Best to stop behavior that can cause the spread of this virus while protecting the right to riot, loot, arson and murder. Note she didn't shut down drive-by shootings which will have a real impact on the covid cases. Imagine the explosion in cases if people had to get real close to murder someone.

Seems like they need to get closer, #9. Most of them can't hit their intended targets but take out children behind them.

Lightfoot is in here safe zone away from all the flying bullets while folk fall in the streets. We get daily battlefield reports from the Windy City but they are not encouraging. Enjoy Lori.

Lori (with an i ) There are more people dying every weekend on the south side of your city than in all the bars, gyms and restaurants in town. Most of them are not old enough to drink. Tighten regulations on gangs. This thing called a police department can do it.

Young people talking and having fun is risky behavior, but BLM using bats, bricks, pepper spray, and molotov cocktails is condoned by the Chicago Mayor. The Democrats advocate masks to hide their identities.

She should have put a ban on BLM protests, since that seems to be the reason for the slight spike. Only 9 deaths in Illinois today but I guess that doesn't figure into her equation.

Right, the spike is due to people raising their voices and yelling in bars, not at "peaceful" marches and protests.
