St Louis Circuit Attorney Kim Gardner, a Democrat, announced on Monday that she is charging the St. Louis couple who defended their private property using firearms last month with felony unlawful use of a weapon.“Mark and Patricia McCloskey each are facing a single felony count of unlawful use of a weapon — exhibiting,” The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported. “Charging documents say he pointed an AR-15 rifle at protesters and she wielded a semiautomatic handgun, placing those protesters in fear of injury.”In a statement, Gardner said, “It is illegal to wave weapons in a threatening manner at those participating in nonviolent protest,

However, the "protestors" will not be charged with trespassing, making terrorist threats, insurrection, rioting looting, and arson. I see how it works.

The McCloskeys should file a personal civil suit for false prosecution against the DA immediately. A DA is not protected from criminal behavior.

I would love to see a march on Kim Gardner's home waving guns and threatening violence and see if she makes an effort to protect her home and family! Believe me, I will wave my guns if a group of scum come marching toward my home! Gee, how much has Soros contributed to her bank account?

This is pure harassment and dereliction of duty. Felonious abuse of power on her part. She won't be able to even get an indictment. She is also violating this couple's civil rights and the McCloskeys should be getting set to file a massive lawsuit. They are supposedly both liberal lawyers. I wonder if they are starting to re-think their voting choices now.
Per No. 7, if this group trespasses on my property and threatens my family, I won't just be "waving" my AR-15 at them.

The Goobernor has insinuated he will pardon this couple. He should come out with a statement that he will not only pardon this couple if convicted, he will launch a state investigation into the DA's office on this. The DA answers to the mob. Make her answer to the state!

KimGardner is a racist scum ignorant liar who should be herself charged with criminal felonious behavior and removed from office immediately.

The State Attorney General has weighed in recommending that the charges be dropped. Perhaps he should file charges against the Persecutor Gardner for civil rights violations and malicious abuse of office or some other such stuff.

Yes, Gardner is Democrat scum -- and a few other things -- and the charge is politically motivated, but the McCloskeys were brandishing. He should have kept the AR slinged on his shoulder, and she should have kept the pistol holstered. Hopefully, the jury will nullify and/or the governor will commute.

Couldn't you charge every cop who ever holstered a pistol with the same crime?

What if the protest was nonviolent because someone had them covered with an AR15?

#17, just making a person aware that you are armed has been used to charge "brandishing" in some cases in some states. Even slung or holstered, probably would have made zero difference to the evil witch persecutor.
And she went for felony charges to ensure that they could never again own any gun, EVER. I'm not sure if a pardon would have any effect on that, so they need to go to jury trial, get a change of venue to central MO where they will be cheered and found innocent in about 10 minutes.

The governor should pardon before the Sun sets. Say it’s absurd and completely attack the political prosecutor.

Shameful, of course. A racist prosecutor. This effort to discourage people from protecting themselves will hopefully result is another firearm buying surge, by people who actually know how to use them, or will learn. This is a shameful, pathetic attempt to destroy our last great country. Most of the cowardly mob would flee from a BB gun, while throwing their rocks.

We have all seen the video. I saw no pointing of the weapons at anyone - brandishing or 'exhibiting' yes but simply a warning display to those who had broken down their gate and were threatening the couple from within their own front yard. There was never a peaceful protest. Such media lies!

First thing I would ask for is a change of venue. Actually, I think that in the end the prosecutor is going to end up eating this one big time.

Of all the absolutely crazy stuff going on over the past few months, this is the first time I've been genuinely "scared" for the future of our once great country. This isn't one of those "you don't need an assault weapon to shoot a deer" arguments, this is a family protecting themselves, their loved ones, and their property from an unruly mob while the police are nowhere to be found.
Basic. Fundamental. Right.

The McCloskeys will win their suit, Gardener will be outed for serving blatant and obvious bias charges. Gardener will lose twice, time for her to pack up and leave her paid-for-by-Soros office.

"Nonviolent" is the key word here, Kimmy. Maybe they did not beat or kill the McCloskeys because of the weapons. But never mind, we know where you head is. Tell us, how did the protesters get through the gate?
