The Supreme Court on Thursday said President Trump is not immune from New York’s subpoena for his tax returns, but that a prosecutor will not get documents now. The decision was the first of two Thursday by the high court on the matter. The case appears headed back to a lower court, which appears to mean the years-long matter will not be resolved before the November elections. In the second decision, the high court blocked House Democrats' requests to get Trump's tax records.

Then, while I was looking for a specific link, I stumbled across Tucker Carlson’s monologue about Biden and the debates. I knew I had nothing to add. Carlson is getting increasingly angry about what’s going on in this country. The thread of humor that used to underlie his opening monologues is gone. During the 2016 presidential campaign, candidate Donald Trump pledged to end government abuse of the so-called contraception mandate. Health and Human Services (HHS) bureaucrats had been using this bizarre interpretation of Obamacare’s preventative care provision as a pretext for trampling on the conscience rights of organizations whose principals had religious or moral objections to paying for certain types of birth control. In October of 2017, President Trump made good on his campaign promise by instructing HHS to issue a new rule dramatically expanding the mandate’s conscience exemption. Wednesday, in a 7-2 ruling, the Supreme Court upheld the exemption in Little Sisters of the Poor Saints Peter and Paul v. Pennsylvania.

The proposed Democrat platform would expand asylum for migrants arriving at the U.S.-Mexico border, freeing them into the interior of the nation while they await their hearings.
