Harley-Davidson Inc. says it is eliminating 700 jobs this year as part of its comprehensive effort to rebuild the company.
Chief Financial Officer John Olin, who has been with Harley 17 years, has left the company. His duties are being assumed on an interim basis by Treasurer Darrell Thomas, the company said in a news release.
"Significant changes are necessary and we must move in new directions," Jochen Zeitz, chairman, president and CEO said in the release.

Michigan medical professionals will need to undergo implicit bias training in order to be licensed by the state, Gov. Gretchen Whitmer and state leaders announced Thursday.
The state Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs is in charge of licensing medical professionals. Under a new executive directive from Whitmer department will create new rules that make implicit bias training mandatory for people to qualify for licensure, renewal or registration.

The Daily Caller News Foundation (DCNF) and Judicial Watch announced on Wednesday that it is suing the University of Delaware for access to Joe Biden's Senate records.According to DCNF, Judicial Watch filed the joint lawsuit in the Superior Court of Delaware related to Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests both groups made back in April in hopes of obtaining documents from Biden's decades-long career as the Delaware senator as well as any logs of those "who have visited the location where the records are stored."The lawsuit comes after the Delaware Department of Justice denied DCNF's appeal on July 1 when its FOIA request was previously denied.

An American medical student imprisoned in Egypt for more than a year returned to the United States on Monday, the State Department said.
Mohamed Amashah, an Egyptian-American from New Jersey with dual citizenship, had been held in pretrial detention for over 500 days on charges of “misusing social media” and “aiding a terrorist group,” according to the Freedom Initiative, which advocated for his release.
“We welcome the release of U.S. citizen Mohamed Amashah from Egyptian custody, and thank Egypt for its cooperation in his repatriation,” the State Department said.
