Washington State suggests schools
give priority to nonwhite students
during reopening

Washington state is considering a plan that would give priority to minority and disadvantaged students when schools reopen in the fall following months of closure during the coronavirus pandemic. Like most state chief executives across the country, Washington Gov. Jay Inslee shuttered his state's public schools earlier in the year as part of a coronavirus mitigation plan. States have lately begun considering how they will re-open their schools in the fall, if at all. Education officials across the country have proposed various plans incorporating alternating schedules, "cohorting" of students, and distance learning programs, while others have suggested the entire upcoming school year may consist entirely of virtual classrooms.

OK with me if Inslee want to send in minority kids first. We will find out which schools have the highest infection rate. When they're safe again, the privileged white kids can go back to school safely

Hadn’t thought of it from POV of OP and #1, but wonder if it will strike those segments of our society that their kids are to be the canaries sent into the mines? I was thinking that the best and brightest were being held back. But they may be better off learning on their own at home.

The Left is looking to provoke a Race War. And by 'Race War' I mean violence between any disparate group of People to cause, or excuse violence that then causes the majority to turn to them for protection and Security. Nazis did this with the Jews. KKK did this with Blacks. The French did this with the Huguenauts... It's an old strategy of people who imagine themselves to b Elite, and their victims uninformed and malleable peasants. They do this by little degrees, trying to cause greater and greater divisions between us, confident on their ability to place the blame... The question is, will we let them succeed?

The teachers in my state are rebelling at going back to their jobs, claiming they could catch Wuhan virus from the kids. My wife suggested that the governor should terminate the teachers' receiving full salaries as gov't employees until they actually return to work, so they can see how the rest of us have had to make do. Teachers will be more anxious to return to work if they are no longer paid a full salary while sitting at home doodling with little online exercises and "I miss you" texts and emails to their students.

The black kids sit in the same rooms as the others. They choose not to participate in their own education. Most of them are sent to school by their parent(s) for the free breakfast and free lunch. What makes them think they will suddently become brilliant and care about school. Yeah, good luck with that. The State of Washington may be faced with hate crimes against minorities for requiring their children to return to school ahead of white kids. LOL I am so over the race discussion -- because whites aren't allowed to discuss race without being accused of being racists. If others want me to see their point of view, I want to be treated with respect. I don't want my language to be regulated. Isn't that what we all want for ourselves? I'm happy to talk with respectful people -- and there are many -- probably most! -- among minorities who are respectful to all folks, regardless of color. But I won't talk to ideological thugs, many of whom have become physical thugs perpetrating physical violence and mayhem.

If I were a classroom teacher in Washington, I'd be furious with this. The three bozos who compiled the so-called "planning guide" have put together a great progressive document that insults just about every teacher in the state and every non-white student in the state. If there is the problem these political hacks claim there is, why has the state waited until now to address it?

Detroit police chief James Craig said he released the video hours after the incident to quell "a false narrative" that the shooting was unjustified. Coronavirus has been in the news lately. We’ve seen a surge in new cases. Yet, the fact remains that there will be no second shutdown. There can’t be. The credibility behind them is dead, which members of the media and Democrats did an expert job of filleting over the past month. The George Floyd riots killed the lockdowns. After weeks of being told to stay inside, the officer-involved death of Floyd in Minneapolis on May 25 lead to the media forgetting about the virus. Go out and protest was the message from liberal America, with the media excusing or defending the rioters. For two weeks,
