New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) said Monday that early responses to the antimalarial drug hydroxychloroquine "anecdotally" suggest its use in the coronavirus fight has been "effective," but that official data was still forthcoming. Asked about the progress of the trials at his daily press briefing, Cuomo noted that state officials have allowed use of the drug in combination with the antibiotic Zithromax in hospitals "at their discretion." (Snip) "There has been anecdotal evidence that it is promising; that's why we're going ahead," he added, noting that some patients have a pre-existing condition or medication regimen that prevents them from taking it.

He must have had the taste of bile in his mouth when he forced himself to admit even that much.

My idiot gov doesn't know the difference between "Anecdote" an Antidote.
Is your brother on it? He can tell us some amusing anecdotes later!

I just posted another article about this -- but what they're finding (in NY, Italy and Spain) is that COVID 19 is not causing pneumonia. It is depleting the body of Oxygen by separating the iron ion from the hemoglobin -- iron ion is running freeing throughout the body but is not carrying O2 like it supposed to. This is why Boris Johnson, for example, has been put on Oxygen but not a ventilator because he doesn't have pneumonia. Hydroxychloroquine has been used for years to treat malaria because what does malaria do -- it eats up the hemoglobin and depletes the body of oxygen. This is why this drug is working because it is treating the same effect -- even though it is a different disease (malaria is a bacteria not a virus). They need to push Fauci out of the way and start using these Hydroxy/Zpack treatment on everyone who is presenting (that can take the drug, some people can't for other reasons).

Where do I begin with Andrew Cuomo (who looks "good" because DeBlasio is so earth shatteringly bad and because he puts a calm face on his interminable tv appearances)? He was a disaster at HUD, he was elected Gov. to clean up Albany but just as his committee was bearing fruit he mysteriously shut it down, he won't allow fracking in upstate NY so just over the border in Pa people are flourishing but the up staters are in semi poverty), he and DeBlasio closed down hospital after hospital in NYC and environs in the last few years as they were "non-essential", he parks the ventilators in N.J. and then screams he doesn't have enough, all the while posing in front of the Mercy Ship and the Javitts Center (he and DeB. push each other out of the way!), and he decides that Drs. can't prescribe something that, anecdotally or not, seems to be helping people and only has side effects if used in massive doses for multi (5 to 10) years. PLUS he never slaps down the Media, who are doing anything they can think of to destroy Trump, so even when Trump is misrepresented, Cuomo says nothing. Unfortunately, the majority of votes are in packed NYC and suburbs, and they are largely rabid Democrats who hate Trump more than they love the lives of their neighbors or their own.....those who haven't fled to the Hamptons, that is.

"Use of antimalarial drug in NY hospitals "anecdotally' positive". A lot of deaths may have been prevented if NY allowed the use of these drugs by physicians when the patient showed signs of the virus. When they are admitted to the hospital most times it is too late for the elderly. Shame of you Cuomo! This was a Cuomo decision to allow the use of these drugs only by the hospitals.

It is better to be anecdotally positive than demonstrably dead. If I get the thing I plan to claim I have malaria. Stay safe and out of Michigan and Washington state where effective treatment is a crime.

I still think he is one of the dark horse candidates that the DNC is looking at. Why else would he force himself to be so reasonable in public right now?

Anecdotal can have different meanings. It could be the same as hear-say, as labeled in court proceedings, which means repetition of what has been heard someplace, which is no more than rumor or gossip. It could also refer to witnessing an event, which is allowable as evidence in the courtroom.

"Anecdotally" is just a term them lefties used as a derogatory term for "real life," This is just another instance where our real world and the fantasy world they live in don't coincide.

I thought Cuomo's statement was deceptive. He could have been commenting about what NY's experience regarding the efficacy of the drug is or he simply could be repeating the comments made before NY starting using it. In fact, it seems NY is staying quiet about whether or not the drug is helping.

Blood will be on Sfacim Jr.'s head if people die because he refused to allow the use of the drug outside of a hospital. Who is he G-d?

Someone needs to point out that ALL eye witness testimony is...
...anecdotal.
On the other hand, I shut down a critic who was using this word to deny the lifesaving properties of the AZ/HCQ/Zn protocol and only having an anecdotal understanding.
