A federal judge has ordered former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to submit to a deposition by lawyers for the conservative group Judicial Watch over her fateful decision to use of a private email server.
Judge Royce Lamberth issued the order in response to litigation by the group that has dragged on for more than five years and seeks the public release of information from Clinton's tenure at the State Department.
'Any further discovery should focus on whether she used a private server to evade FOIA and, as a corollary to that, what she understood about State's records management obligations,' the judge wrote about the federal open records law.

Bernie Sanders just lost his first primary of 2020. He’ll lose a few more on Tuesday. But as of now, in terms of delegates and polling alike, Bernie Sanders remains the Democratic front-runner. And Joe Biden has wound up, ironically, not as the frontrunner but as the ‘Stop Bernie!’ candidate.
South Carolina was Biden’s first primary win in any of the presidential races he’s ever run, which stretch back to 1988. He’s had his eye on the White House for a very long time, and voters have consistently found other Democrats more compelling — other Democrats like Michael Dukakis, not just other Democrats like Barack Obama.

Former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg explained in an interview with “60 Minutes” why he believes America will choose him over President Donald Trump this fall by characterizing those who swept Trump into office as mounting a “revolution” against the educated elite.
“A few years ago there was a revolution against the intelligentsia,” Bloomberg told CBS’ Scott Pelley. “People said, ‘you know, those people, particularly on the coasts, are trying to tell us what to do.’ They wanted a change. That explains Donald Trump. Now, people seem to have changed. This cycle, people want stability.”
Mayor Pete Buttigieg has told his staff that he's pulling out of – suspending – his Democratic presidential campaign.
The former South Bend, Ind., mayor had his campaign staff leak the news to media outlets Sunday afternoon. Buttigieg was expected to speak to supporters in South Bend Sunday night.
CNN, which also received a head's up from Buttigieg insiders, said his biggest problem was money:

Coronavirus, the mysterious illness blanketing the world courtesy China, continues to spread. The United States has been, until this past weekend, spared breakout flares. They are occurring now. Soon, and with better and more ubiquitous testing, America’s COVID-19 numbers will spike. That will scare a lot of people. It shouldn’t. It’s what happens when the government broadens testing criteria and has more effective tests.
When local COVID-19 hot spots happen, some communities, school systems, hospital systems, etc. will be under quarantine. Many of those tangentially related to the outbreak will be asked to quarantine at home. It’s time to think ahead about this possibility.

Case closed: Judge Judy Sheindlin is ending her blockbuster first-run syndicated series “Judge Judy” after 25 seasons, Variety has confirmed. Sheindlin is set to make the announcement on “Ellen” this Monday.
The final full season of “Judge Judy” is yet to air, which means it will remain in originals through the 2020-2021 TV season. After that, CBS Television Distribution will continue to offer “Judge Judy” repeats to stations, while Sheindlin told “Ellen” host Ellen DeGeneres that she plans to launch a new show, “Judy Justice.”
This morning, with all but a handful of precincts reporting, it became clear that Joe Biden had a very good night in South Carolina. In fact, he appears to have overperformed against even the most optimistic polls, coming in dangerously close to the 50% mark. Bernie Sanders, by contrast, underperformed a bit, registering just shy of 20%, but that will be more than enough to ensure he grabs some delegates on his way out the door. At least 74 cases and two deaths have been confirmed in the U.S., according to authorities. Washington state officials said Sunday night that a King County resident had died from the coronavirus, making them the second person in the U.S. to die deadly to those with medical issues.from COVID-19. The first victim, a man in his 50s, was also a King County resident.
A federal judge ruled Sunday that one of the Trump administration's top immigration officials, Ken Cuccinelli, was unlawfully appointed to his post because of a decades-old law on federal vacancies.
U.S. District Judge Randolph Moss ruled that Cuccinelli's appointment as the acting director of U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) circumvented a law that said a senior government position could be filled only if the Senate first approved the individual.
It was not immediately clear what impact this would have on Cuccinelli's tenure, if any.
