It's no secret that technology plays an important role in our lives. Almost every single aspect of our life is ruled by technology, from smart phones to computers and the internet. That's why it's not surprising to know that Google and Facebook are keeping tabs on gun owners' firearms.
According to The Firearms Blog (TFB), the two tech giants are scanning users' pictures to look for serial numbers. They're then creating an index of every person's firearms based on the image scans. If you've posted a picture of your firearm on a social networking site and didn't smear out the serial number, chances are it's indexed on Google images.

By the late 1960s, The Who eventually conquered America thanks to Pete Townshend’s endless (in every definition of the term) interviews with journalists, including Jann Wenner, leader of the burgeoning world of rock journalists.
In 1969, Led Zeppelin conquered America through word of mouth, thanks to their blazing live sets, often as the opening act, blowing the headliner off the stage, and through the new medium of freedom FM radio, whose stations accepted longer songs, and sometimes even

Georgulas, who has been telling her son he was a girl since he was 3, supports giving hormones that would block his adolescence. ORLANDO, Fla.— An effort by the U.S. Census Bureau to collect state driver’s license records as part of President Donald Trump’s order to gather citizenship information has been a bust so far.As of Wednesday, the vast majority of state motor vehicle agencies had not agreed to share their records with the bureau, according to an Associated Press survey of the 50 states. The effort over the past couple of months has alarmed civil rights groups, which see it as part of a backdoor move by the Trump administration to reduce the political power of minorities. In August, the bureau began requesting five years’ worth of driver’s license records,

From the beginning, I have been impressed by Gilbert’s diligence in exposing the fraud at the heart of America’s most publicized and racially charged trial since O.J.’s. I refer here to the 2013 murder trial of George Zimmerman for the 2012 shooting of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin.
Not having any financial stake in the success of either the book or the film, I thought I might serve as a useful go-between in reaching out to the media.

Four years ago, Donald Trump’s candidacy was the craziest thing any of us had ever seen. But since then, his opponents have gone so far off the deep end that they have made him seem the sensible alternative. For whatever reason – jealousy? bad advisers? – Mitt Romney hasn’t come to the realization the rest of us have: that President Trump is now the thin orange line between order and chaos.
Happy enough to accept the president’s endorsement last year, Romney quickly turned on him to become a virtue-signaling headline-chaser. He began his Senate tenure with an attack piece in the once admirable Washington Post, refusing to support border security,

Naomi Wolf’s publisher Houghton Mifflin Harcourt officially pulled the plug on releasing her new book in the United States, likely due to substantial errors discovered in the midst of an unfortunate press tour interview.
Trouble came for Wolf in May, during an interview with BBC radio host Matthew Sweet. Wolf told Sweet that her new book, Outrages: Sex, Censorship and the Criminalization of Love, delves into evidence she found of “several dozen executions” of men convicted of sodomy in Britain, which she inaccurately claimed “corrects a misapprehension … that the last man was executed for sodomy in Britain in 1835.”

There’s nothing the political press likes more than a bandwagon. When a candidate is on the rise, reporters and pundits climb over one another trying to get on board. The effect is even more pronounced if the candidate is a progressive. Then the moral and cultural attitudes of journalists align with their professional interest in drama and hype. The result is the transformation of the most banal campaign activities into symbols of the candidate’s superiority, heroism, and indestructibility. Consider Elizabeth Warren’s photography habit.
Warren has been sticking around after the conclusion of events to take pictures with fans. It’s standard practice for candidates to pose for photographs

Busted on Sunday for his Twitter nom de twit, Sen. Willard M. Romney whined, “Being called a lurker is a new low.” No, Willard, being a lurker is the new low. Obviously, Romney’s official Massachusetts gubernatorial portrait, unveiled at the State House more than a decade ago, is going to need an update. At the very least, the identifying plate at the bottom of the frame will have to be replaced with a new one: “Gov. Pierre Delecto 2003-07.” Actually, don’t we need a whole new painting? The White House said it wouldn’t renew subscriptions to The New York Times and The Washington Post on Tuesday after President Trump hinted at the move earlier in the week on Fox News’ “Hannity.” Trump suggested that he would "probably terminate" both papers during a Monday interview with Sean Hannity, in which he called them "fake." Press Secretary Stephanie Grisham told Politico on Tuesday that Trump was referring to subscriptions “which we won’t be renewing,” as opposed to terminating reporters from the papers’ access to the White House.

The New York Times reported recently that Democrats have “resigned themselves to the likelihood that the impeachment proceedings against President Trump will extend into the Christmas season…”The reason for the extended timetable, we read, is that Democrats want to make the “simplest and most devastating case” possible against the president. What rot. Despite the numerous witnesses that have been questioned, the numerous closed-door interviews and purposeful leaks, it is quite clear that Democrats have discovered little beyond the original phone call between President Trump and President Zelensky of Ukraine with which to make their case.

Criticism came fast from Democrats, President Donald Trump critics and some Republicans on Tuesday after Trump compared the impeachment inquiry into him to a "lynching." Last month, a research paper briefly posted on a Nasa website – and since removed – suggested that Google had achieved quantum supremacy. This means that its quantum computer could, in theory, take on calculations that are impossible even for the world's highest-performing supercomputers. The paper claimed that Google's 53-qubit quantum system had taken three minutes and 20 seconds to carry out a calculation that would have taken the world's most advanced classical computers 10,000 years to complete.
But now, IBM's research shows that a classical system can actually perform the same task in two and a half days, "and with far greater fidelity".

I suspect that President Trump deliberately used the word “lynching” in a tweet to describe the efforts to impeach him knowing that it would evoke hysteria from Democrats accusing him of racism. Lest I be accused of attributing to him mastery of 3-dimensional chess, it doesn’t take a mastermind to understand that the media and other Democrats will take any bait at hand to accuse Trump of nefariousness. The word “lynch” has roots far predating the Reconstruction period during which the KKK, the paramilitary arm of the Democratic Party, summarily executed by hanging many freed slaves, as well as many white Republicans who supported Reconstruction measures,

Every headline basically reads the same: "Orange man bad!"
Coming from the supermarket tabloids, right next to the alien abduction and the miracle weight loss stories, that would be kind of amusing. But coming from the "important" people -- the NY Times, the WaPo, the major networks -- that is not funny at all.
But if the fact of it is nothing to smile about -- and the dissolution of once respected institution isn't, or at least shouldn't be -- we should be able to find at least some peace and quiet in understanding the 'whys' of it.
And indeed that we can.

One of the most common pro-abortion arguments is that legalization keeps abortion safe. The rationale goes something like this: whether people like it or not, some women will always seek out abortions. No matter what other services or programs are offered to help with crisis pregnancies, abortion is so needed, so necessary, that keeping it legal is the only way to keep women fully safe.
When legislation is brought up to limit abortion to certain gestational periods (such as before 20 weeks) or to limit abortions to only ambulatory surgical centers, abortion advocates oppose these measures, claiming it places undue burdens on women, seeks to control them,

There's been a lot of confusion about what, exactly, President Trump's concerns were before withholding and later approving U.S. military aid to Ukraine. Mick Mulvaney, the acting White House chief of staff, made a hash of things during his much-discussed press conference on Thursday. Media coverage of Mulvaney's appearance just made things worse. So now, some clarification.
In various statements, the president or top aides have listed five reasons for his concern about U.S. aid to Ukraine:
1.) Trump's general dislike of foreign aid. "President Trump is not a big fan of foreign aid," Mulvaney said Thursday. "Never has been; still isn't. Doesn't like spending money overseas, especially when it's poorly spent."

Two elements of the turbulent current American political scene became clearer over the past week. One is the determination, attested to by almost all Washington insiders whatever side they are on, of the Democratic leadership to force an impeachment trial of the president. Also developing, as a further bleat from the vanishing NeverTrumpers, is the theory that large chunks of Republican loyalty in Congress are starting to peel off and desert the president.
Since all polls show Republican opinion in the country is rock solid behind the president and by any normal criteria—the economy, declining illegal immigration, and his delivery on election promises—he will be reelected easily.

Democratic Party leaders have reportedly been struck by anxiety as the 2020 election approaches — and some fear they have no viable candidate to back.
Leaders and activists in the party are wary that all their top contenders have major weaknesses and are urging other possible candidates to get in the race, The Washington Post and The New York Times reported Tuesday.
“You can imagine much stronger candidates,” Democratic National Committee member Elaine Kamarck told The Washington Post. Kamarck would back Sen. Sherrod Brown or retired Navy Adm. William H. McRaven if either could be convinced to throw their hat in the ring, according to the report.

The Chinese government is reportedly drawing up a plan to replace Hong Kong Chief Executive Carrie Lam, whose leadership sparked the protests ravaging the global financial hub.
Sources “briefed on the deliberations” said Lam’s successor would be installed by March and serve the rest of her term until 2022, if Chinese President Xi Jinping decided to move forward with the plan. Lam was appointed for office in 2014 despite the fact her rival for the job, John Tsang, was far more popular with the general public, according to the Financial Times.

A local CBS reporter in California was apparently fired after he — during a live news segment — climbed atop classic, privately-owned cars, even seemingly damaging one of them in the process.
Angel Cardenas, a correspondent with KMAX-TV's "Good Morning Sacramento," was on air Sunday at the Sacramento International Auto Show, a weekend-long event at Cal Expo that was about to begin its final day. Someone who caught the segment on air, Adam Copeland, posted a clip of it to Facebook, as he has "never seen such a disregard to someone else's vehicle."
Cardenas playfully tells viewers "the only person out here is a media coordinator,

Joe Biden has apologized for using the word 'lynching' when describing the impeachment of President Bill Clinton in 1998. His apology comes after the former Vice President lambasted President Donald Trump for also using the exact same word as he described his current impeachment process 'This wasn't the right word to use and I'm sorry about that,' Biden wrote in a tweet late on Tuesday night. Biden used the word during a 1998 CNN interview as he defended then President Clinton on-air. But the former VP went on to imply that unlike him,

We should all realize that the Democrats are floundering badly, like fish out of water, because their activists, their defenders in league with the corrupt media, are the grossly dishonest and deluded Hillary Clinton; Adam Schiff; and now the poor, pathetic Mitt Romney. Pelosi is right there with Schiff; she's the wind beneath his little flapping wings. Hillary has, for all to see, gone completely bonkers. Since she lost the election, she has blamed too many people and groups and mindsets to list. This past week, she escalated her paranoia by claiming that Tulsi Gabbard and Jill Stein are both "Russian assets."

If journalism isn't dead, it must certainly be on life support when it can be knocked so easily on its collective butt by an 84-year-old Stolen Valor fraud, who flimflammed even Fox News with her tales of wartime heroics, faux medals, and a handful of push-ups. Margaret DeSanti, a self-proclaimed retired lieutenant colonel (sometimes captain) Army nurse, is a known phony Vietnam vet who was first exposed as such five years ago by TAH (This Ain't Hell), one of the military blogs that long ago took on the mission of guarding the veterans' community from those who falsely claim honorable service.
