Massachusetts Rep. Democrat Daniel J. Hunt is driving a bill that would essentially make it illegal to call someone a “bitch” as part of his act “regarding the use of offensive words.”
Hunt — a Democrat — introduced a bill in May that would criminalize calling someone a “bitch” in an insulting manner.
The act states:
A person who uses the word “bitch” directed at another person to accost, annoy, degrade or demean the other person shall be considered to be a disorderly person in violation of this section, and shall be subject to the penalties provided in subsections (a) and (b). A violation of this subsection may be reported by the person

OP- The further we drive down the road of insanity, it is becoming very clear (and I pray it never comes to pass) why the Founders included the 2nd.

Better criminalize calling anyone “Hillary” since that word and the B word are the same thing.

No worries. I can think of a lot of nasty names to call someone and the rest of them are apparently still legal.

Maybe instead of suing someone for calling me that, I could just call them a ‘B*tch’ right back with impunity. Life sucks, then you die. Oh well. Back to the grindstone.

But can you still call someone a son of a b*tch? It's not the same as the single word.

Our Deputy Base Commander came up with a similar rule in the early 1990's. I suspect she was tired of people describing her. In any case, it was universally ridiculed and caused most of us to wonder what the hell we were offering our lives to defend.

If this were to pass there would be a lot of Black people in front of a judge.

Apparently Danny was absent too many times during 8th grade civics.
You are more than welcome to make that illegal but you need to do so legally. Start with he repeal of the first amendment then present your damned bill you bi tch.

On the bright side, this will make listening to music in Massachusetts a lot more bearable.

Massachusetts has a law which states that any citizen may go to his/her state senator or representative and propose a bill. The legislator (again, according to state law), MUST then submit the bill for a vote. So maybe the state rep is just following the law and is not actually that stupid.

Be careful what you wish for, ladies: were this to become law, I am confident a large number of the fines would be levied against women. Especially in Massachusetts.

It's more than evident why he thinks this way.
Fortunately (for some salty writers, at least) "b*tch" and "weenie" are permutable.

If this proposal becomes law, and is effectively enforced. The result would put much of the Massachusetts ghetto black community in criminal jeopardy. Surely the leftist, liberal, and socialist Democrats in Massachusetts won’t go along with jailing their most faithful identity based constituency group.

You might as well arrest me now. That word is so often appropriate and a favorite part of my vocabulary.

RE #12, You make a valid point. I remember back in the 1980's a NYS Representative put forward a bill to make wearing seatbelts a requirement for motorcyclists. It caused a big protest rally in Albany and the Speaker of the house was quick to appear before the crowd and state the bill would be withdrawn.

I suspect Hunt is sensitive to the word for some reason. Far from me to guess why.

Even the Demon-Rats have to have enough working brain cells to know that this is a massive infringement on the 1st amendment!!!!
But, hey, if it works, I think any state with a Republican legislature and governor immediately needs to make the word "Democrat" illegal, with jail time and major fines for anyone who uses it. It's a much nastier word than the "B" word after all!!!!!

I suspect many can relate to working on something such as a car and getting frustrated at stubborn bolts or inaccessible parts. Many are the times I have said out loud, "come out of there you b*tch," or "get in there you son of a b*tch!" If this bill passes, many mechanics personal or professional will be at the mercy of someone hearing them working on their vehicles. Now I need to go work on my own "b*tch."
