We are approaching the never-before-reached strata of “too much winning”.Today President Trump held the third press conference over thirty minutes in the past four days. Sunday a chopper presser on the tarmac in New Jersey (36 minutes). Tuesday a presser in the Oval Office (32 minutes). Today a South Lawn chopper presser (35 minutes). No questions filtered; direct responses from President Trump; all questions answered…. and the media can’t take it. Earlier this week, Facebook took down several Trump campaign ads over alleged violations of their advertising policies. They must have been terrible, horribly offensive ads, right? Heck, even I thought they must have been tasteless ads that were reasonably taken down... and then I saw one of the offensive ads: (Photo) That's right. The above ad violated Facebook's advertising policies. What did this and other offensive Trump ads do that was so terrible? They targeted women. The notion that the world might not be real may seem like madness but it is a serious proposition at least in academic circles. Congressional Democrats, even their leaders Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer, have been bullied into silence by the radicals who have grabbed media attention and who appear to have the ability to mobilize their followers to defeat recalcitrant Dems in primaries, the way that Joe Crowley’s long House career was abruptly terminated by Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. LOUISVILLE, Ky.-- President Donald Trump focused on his military record and took a new step in wiping out federal student loans for disabled military veterans. He spoke at the 75th AMVETS National Convention in Louisville, Ky. "No President has said we are keeping America First, before, except me," Trump proclaimed to a cheering crowd. He cited his support of the Veterans Affairs Accountability Act, which was signed into law last summer. The law helped pave the way to fire unethical managers and cut red tape to speed up healthcare for VA patients. “We’ve removed more than 7,600 employees who failed to give the vets the care they deserved,"

The 10th US Circuit Court of Appeals in Denver ruled Tuesday that the presidential electors can cast their vote for the presidential candidate of their own choice and are not bound by the popular vote in their states. A panel of federal judges ruled 2-1 saying that Colorado was wrong in 2016 to force an elector to vote for Hillary Clinton in the Electoral College. Free Beacon reported: State law in Colorado mandates that presidential electors cast their Electoral College vote for the candidate receiving the most votes statewide, which in that instance was Hillary Clinton.

By any standard of decency, the Antifa movement is a mob of thugs. Unfortunately, standards of decency have fallen upon hard times. So, anytime the Antifa guys (and gals?) attack and maul people or property, the news is failing to show the thuggery. When the far-Right Proud Boys agitate, the police can do nothing about the violence. City and state leaders, the always liberal mayors and governors, bind the hands of the police. So, reels of films show these cowardly lunatics beating, smashing, cursing and otherwise wrecking civilization virtually with impunity.

North Korea has miniaturised nuclear warheads and made them small enough to fit on ballistic missiles, Japan believes.
Tokyo defence chiefs warn in a new white paper that North Korea's military activities pose a 'serious and imminent threat'.
In last year's report Japan said it was 'possible' that North Korea had achieved miniaturisation, but Tokyo now appears to have upgraded its assessment, according to Japanese newspaper Yomiuri.
Japan is seen as a 'primary target' of nearby North Korea's weapons capabilities and fears that Pyongyang's nuclear programme is 'growing unabated', experts say.

Part of what makes the term so tricky to nail down is the fact that there are certain ineffable qualities that a true honky-tonk must possess. A Best Buy deliveryman allegedly doused a woman with a liquid chemical and beat her to death after installing her washer and dryer in Florida, cops said. Jorge Luis Depre Lachazo, 21, arrived at the Boca Raton home with his co-worker to install the appliances on Monday and was eventually left alone with Evelyn Udell to explain how to use the devices, according to the Boca Raton Police Department. The co-worker suddenly heard screams and ran inside to discover the 75-year-old Udell lying on the floor covered in blood. Lachazo then hopped into the delivery van and fled, cops said. Five people were fatally shot in a 24-hour period throughout Brooklyn and Queens — and the gunmen in each case are still at large, police said Wednesday. The bloodshed began early Tuesday, when 18-year-old Angel Nixon was fatally shot in the head, torso and legs around 12:30 a.m., when a fight broke out near the corner of 176th Street and 145th Avenue in Springfield Gardens, police said. Later in the evening, Queens cops found Gregory Haskins, 25, lying on the pavement with a gunshot wound to the chest on Sutphin Boulevard in Jamaica, according to police sources. He was rushed to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, but could not be saved.

On her weekly Sinclair TV show, "Full Measure," on Aug. 18, former CBS News correspondent Sharyl Attkisson interviewed pollster Scott Rasmussen about journalists' standing in the public square. They're about as trusted as Wikipedia, the website considered so unreliable that school teachers often tell students they can't cite it as a source for their research papers.
Only 38 percent said national political coverage is accurate and reliable, while 42 percent said it is not. "We asked about national political reporters. Are they credible? Are they reliable?" said Rasmussen. "And you know, a little more than 1 out of 3 people say yes. When we ask about Wikipedia,

For many parents, August is a month of both pride and tears. Pride because their teenager is taking that big educational step and tears because for many it's the beginning of an empty nest. Yet, there's a going-away-to-college question that far too few parents ask or even contemplate: What will my youngster learn in college?
The American Council of Trustees and Alumni provides some answers that turn out to be quite disturbing. ACTA evaluated every four-year public university as well as hundreds of private colleges and universities. That's more than 1,100 institutions that enroll nearly 8 million students, more than two-thirds of all students enrolled in four-year

The ongoing crusade against America’s civic rituals and founding values picked up pace this summer.
The city council of St. Louis Park, Minn., stopped reciting the Pledge of Allegiance before its meetings, lest immigrants feel “uncomfortable.” Nike junked a commemorative Fourth of July shoe with an embroidered Revolutionary War flag on its heel because the flag could “offend and detract” from the national holiday. The Charlottesville, Va., city council scrapped the city holiday celebrating Thomas Jefferson’s birthday. The San Francisco School Board voted to cover up a mural of George Washington. It is an article of faith in some circles that if the U.S. economy stops growing, President Trump will not be reelected in 2020. Thus opines Ross Douthat in The New York Times in a recent column headlined “What Happens in a Recession?”
Answering his own question, Douthat writes: “First, the easy part: Donald Trump loses re-election. It will be ugly and flailing and desperate and – depending on recession-era geopolitics – potentially quite dangerous, but there is no way a president so widely disliked survives the evaporation of his boom.”
Is Douthat sure about that?

A U.S. military MQ-9 drone was shot down in Yemen’s Dhamar governate, southeast of the Houthi-controlled capital Sanaa, two U.S. officials told Reuters on Wednesday, the second such incident in recent months.
A Houthi military spokesman had earlier said that air defences had brought down a U.S. drone.
The officials, speaking on the condition of anonymity, said the drone was shot down late on Tuesday.
This is not the first time a U.S. drone has been shot down in Yemen. In June, the U.S. military said that Houthi rebels had shot down a U.S. government-operated drone with assistance from Iran.

So deep is the fear that virtually the entire presidential field has offered lip service to socialized medicine for all – including anyone who can cross our southern border, while keeping that border wide open.
As serious policy, it is madness, as anyone who can think two chess moves ahead realizes.

According to the reports, a very large and very inebriated man dressed in a nightgown showed up at a women's shelter in downtown Anchorage, Alaska seeking entry. He was not admitted to stay the night.
As a result, the shelter is now embroiled in a legal battle.

No one set out to turn the airwaves into a political weapon—much less deputize talk-radio hosts as the ideological enforcers of a major American political party. Instead the story of how the GOP establishment lost its power over the Republican message—and eventually the party itself—begins with frantic AM radio executives and a former Top 40 disc jockey, Rush Limbaugh.
In the late 1980s, AM radio was desperate for new content. Listeners had migrated to FM because music sounded better on there, and advertising dollars had followed. Talk-radio formats offered a lifeline—unique programming that FM didn’t have. And on August 1, 1988, Limbaugh debuted nationally. At the outset, Limbaugh wasn’t

The recent shooting deaths of 31 fellow Americans (in El Paso, Texas, and Dayton, Ohio) have prompted the familiar “blame game.” Democrats are blaming President Trump; Republicans are blaming the Democrats.
Of course, dreadful events have taken place under administrations of all stripes— Clinton, Bush, Obama and Trump. Trying to place blame on any single party or president is silly. Yet, the game goes on. As usual, whenever we experience this kind of national trauma, our political leaders come up with “plans” by which the problem will be solved and such terrible things will never happen again.

Echoing the “You didn’t build that” claim made famous by former President Barack Obama, Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) made a pitch for a new tax while addressing the Black Church PAC's Youth Leadership Conference in Atlanta on Saturday.
But, Obama’s controversial 2012 comment actually appears to have been a paraphrase of remarks Warren made a year earlier when she was running her successful campaign to unseat incumbent Republican Senator Scott Brown.
On Saturday, promoting her proposal for a new “wealth tax,” Democrat presidential hopeful Warren told her audience that, if any of them have built a fortune, they didn’t do it on their own, because “all of us helped” them:

Former Vice President Joe Biden remains the clear front-runner in the race for the Democratic presidential nomination in a new national poll that also indicates a big drop in support for Sen. Kamala Harris of California.
According to a CNN survey conducted by SSRS, Harris stands at 5 percent support, down 12 percentage points from CNN’s last poll, which was released in June. Harris saw her poll numbers surge after what was regarded as a strong performance in the first round of Democratic presidential primary debates in late June, when she knocked Biden on his heels over his opposition to federally mandated school busing integration.

President Trump will move Wednesday to cancel the family “loophole” that’s allowed illegal-immigrant parents and children to pour into the U.S., proposing new rules that would replace the 2015 Flores Settlement court order that created a de facto catch-and-release policy for the families.
According to details provided by an administration official, migrant families could be held in detention together while their cases are heard by immigration judges. That would supersede the 20-day limit imposed by the federal judge in Flores.
If the families can be held in detention, they can be deported, security experts say, and once people in Central America see an increase in deportations, they’ll stop coming.

While the moniker “fake news” is typically reserved for cable news and some of the more prominent newspapers in America, the term could also be applied to presidential polls. How many pollsters predicted Hillary Clinton would win the 2016 election by a landslide up to and including the day of the actual election? The “paper of record,” the New York Times, told readers on election day, Nov. 8, 2016, that Hillary Clinton had an 85 percent chance of winning the election. Their prediction was updated on 10:20 PM ET, oblivious to the evening smiles on cable news shows that were curdling into frowns and outright hysteria.

The moderator at a Native American forum was shocked on Monday after Democratic presidential candidate Elizabeth Warren (D., Mass.) received very little enthusiasm about her potential election.
Warren participated in the presidential forum on Native American issues in Sioux, City, IA, where she apologized for the "harm" she caused for her past claims of Native American ancestry.

Imagine a group of people who work to destroy Italy because, they claim, Italy’s origins are illegitimate. Imagine further that these people maintain that of all the countries in the world, only Italy is illegitimate. And then imagine that these people vigorously deny they are in any way anti-Italian. Hammer thrower Gwen Berry raised her fist and fencer Race Imboden took a knee while on the medal stand last week in Lima, Peru. All athletes at the Pan American Games and the Olympics agree to rules forbidding political protest.
The committee also warned other athletes that future protests could face more serious consequences.

President Trump on Tuesday abruptly canceled a planned meeting with Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen, saying there was no point to the trip after Frederiksen called the idea that the U.S. might buy Greenland from Denmark "absurd" -- and insisted there would be no Copen-haggling about it.
Trump had been expected to visit Denmark on Sept. 2-3 as part of his trip to Europe, but until his tweets Tuesday, there were no solid indications the visit to Denmark was centered on buying Greenland.
