Former U.N. He has been a loyal and trustworthy VP to the President. He has my complete support.” It’s not clear why Ms. Haley, the former governor of South Carolina, felt the need to speak out on Wednesday. Three days earlier, President Trump said that he’s “very happy with Mike Pence.”

Under a new resolution by the city’s Board of Supervisors—which voted to use “person-first” language in the criminal justice system—they’ll be referred to as “justice-involved persons,” the San Francisco Chronicle reported. The guidelines nix other terms too, such as “prisoner,” “convict” and “inmate,” along with any words that “obstruct and separate people from society and make the institutionalization of racism and supremacy appear normal.” As part of the guidelines, a drug addict or substance abuser will become a “person with a history of substance abuse.” And a “juvenile delinquent” will instead

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), a 2020 White House hopeful, on Thursday unveiled his sweeping Green New Deal to tackle climate change, a plan he says would take on “the single greatest challenge facing our country” and create 20 million jobs. “This is a pivotal moment in the history of America -- and really, in the history of humanity. The climate crisis is not only the single greatest challenge facing our country; it is also our single greatest opportunity to build a more just and equitable future, but we must act immediately,” said Sanders. “When we are in the White House, we will launch the decade of the Green New Deal,

Remember the controversy in 2012 when President Barack Obama said, “If you’ve got a business, you didn’t build that. Somebody else made that happen.” In context, the president was trying to make the point that in addition to our own hard work, others contributed to whatever level of success we have attained. The president suggested no one achieves success on his or her own. Republicans took his words as just another indicator that Democrats want more government control over our lives and businesses. The New York Times appears to have endorsed Obama’s view and gone a step further. The newspaper’s executive editor, Dean Baquet, recently called

The U.S. should obviously buy Greenland, and anyone who doesn't see that is blinded by disdain for the president, U.S. Sen. Tom Cotton said Wednesday. Cotton, R-Arkansas, said he broached the topic with the Danish ambassador to the United States several months ago. He also recommended to President Donald Trump that he should try to buy the territory from Denmark. Those conversations came before Trump ignited an international social-media kerfuffle Tuesday night when he took to Twitter to cancel a planned visit to Denmark because the Danish prime minister rebuffed discussions about a potential Greenland sale.

During his diatribe about the recent exploits of anti-Israel Democrats Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib, President Donald Trump dropped this line: “And I think any Jewish people that vote for a Democrat, I think it shows either a total lack of knowledge or great disloyalty.” An uproar followed due to the president’s use of the word “disloyalty,” which usually insinuates the charge of dual allegiances, a smear that’s been deployed against Jews in various iterations since the beginning of the Diaspora. In case there was any confusion, the president reiterated today that, yes, “If you vote for a Democrat, you’re being disloyal to

This month the Trump administration officially declared China a currency manipulator. This declaration, the latest salvo in the ongoing U.S.–China trade war, came after the Chinese government allowed its currency, the yuan, to fall to its lowest value in a decade. It is now trading at just over 7 yuan to a dollar. The currency-manipulation designation is one of the most unwarranted charges volleyed against China by the Trump administration. The depreciation of the yuan was largely caused by market forces and, by most accounts, China has not been a currency manipulator since about 2012. But the Trump administration’s concern over currency values is linked to a more general irritation

This order was removed Thursday when the two were indicted in a Northern District Court. According to the indictment, the two men also discussed killing one of Yassin’s cousins who had served in the American military when he next came to visit Israel, as “in their view, his actions made him an ‘infidel,’ and

Signs of Argentinian economic malaise abound, from shanty towns on the outskirts of Buenos Aires to hobos sleeping on dirty mattresses in its downtown. Argentines love raw dollars, offering huge deals for cash purchases. It appears that the Peronistas are on the verge of victory. As Brazil goes right, Argentina moves back to the left,

They had invested so much in their fantasy that President Donald Trump was a treasonous agent of Russian boss Vladimir Putin. But when special counsel Robert Mueller’s report came out, and there was no collusion, no crime charged, their fantasy collapsed. And so, after a brief spasm of despair, the left pivoted to their default position: race. Race. Race. Race. Race. Race.
