On her weekly Sinclair TV show, "Full Measure," on Aug. 18, former CBS News correspondent Sharyl Attkisson interviewed pollster Scott Rasmussen about journalists' standing in the public square. They're about as trusted as Wikipedia, the website considered so unreliable that school teachers often tell students they can't cite it as a source for their research papers.
Only 38 percent said national political coverage is accurate and reliable, while 42 percent said it is not. "We asked about national political reporters. Are they credible? Are they reliable?" said Rasmussen. "And you know, a little more than 1 out of 3 people say yes. When we ask about Wikipedia,

Young people choose a career in "journalism" today as a way to "change the world". They explicitly start out with the idea that they will be propagandizing zealots for a cause, not a neutral observer reporting facts. This is generally their a priori career goal. And I despise them for it.
I think this is taught in colleges which purport to train "journalists", and that would mean that this is another are of universities and colleges where the leftist 5th column has subverted an "educational institution" and made it a indoctrination center to create more leftist drones and launch them against the world.
Most "journalists" are so totally indoctrinated that they cannot even grasp how biased, unfair and UNjournalistic they actually are. They cannot see what they have become. They are true believers, and they somehow, in their limited, warped views, imagine that they are doing good....trying to get all those damned deplorables and racists and clinging gun whackos out there in fly over country to understand how they SHOULD think.
To hell with most "journalists". There are a very few that I trust, and some outlets such as NYT and WashComPost which I will not even bother to read, ever. They are CERTAIN to be lying, so why even bother?

I tend to disagree with this sweeping assessment of the 'media'. I have found one network to deliver reliable, accurate, unbiased and timely information, unlike the Alphabet Kneepads. Its QVC!

When is the 'Bob Michel' of watchdogs, Mr. Bozell going to come clean on how the media really works...? Never, it would eat into his annual dues drive at MRC.

In 2008 I was on the inside of a news story involving Prop 8 in Ca (the traditional marriage proposition.) I saw first hand how the San Jose Mercury News refused to publish the entire story of an incident - because it made the people opposed to Prop 8 look bad and the supporters look like decent people. When you leave out critical info - that’s a lie of omission. Made me wonder - what else do they lie about?

#4, I had several similar learning experiences in the 90s when I was heavily involved in statewide politics, and got to know a number of important state politicians personally over a period of years. We got to spend some getaway weekends just relaxing together at a businessman's "family compound", too, so I really got to know some of these people.
And then I saw the pure lies published by he KC "Red" Star newspaper. And, beyond their lying, they would not even permit a reply to their lies in their "letters to the editor" section without "editing for space".
Of course their editing carefully removed ALL the facts which showed that their reporting was false, so the
letter writer would not approve their butchery, and the letter was never printed. First hand, the media frequently are pure liars, and have zero qualms about it, serving their agenda, not the truth.

I too had my awakening in the mid-90's. I was the City Council liaison for the LA Dept. of Airports. I began that job as a solid liberal democrat. As I attended those infamous "closed door" meetings, where the pols get down to business, I was appalled by the ethics and actions of democrats I had supported for office and found myself agreeing with, and admiring, the Republican office holders. I sat through nine years of City Council committee and full council meetings. I was usually present when big issues were on the agenda and saw all the action. When I would watch the "news" that evening, it was as if the reporters were at a completely different meeting. I once answered a seemingly simple question for a radio reporter about airport operations during a major rain storm. I was still in the car on the way back to LAX when I heard the reporter set up a completely different story and inserted my response, that now seemed "uncaring" regarding the story's concerns. When I got back to the office my boss told me, "Remember, you have no friends downtown." TK was on the LAPD and often at the scene of incidents that made the news. He would be livid at the lack of factual knowledge included in the reports. By 1995 we had stopped watching national and local news. We didn't even have to watch for the weather, it was L.A.

This article describes my local newspaper to a 'T'. They report only facts that support the narrative they want to push, Their 'reporting' after Charlottesville was so one sided that it led me to cancel their daily paper keeping only the Sunday edition.
They regularly decry violence from the right without ever uttering a peep about all the violence coming from the left.
The only times they have anything positive to report about a Republican or a conservative is if that Republican works with a Democrat in a bipartisan manner to further the Democrat agenda or when a Republican passes away. They waxed poetic when RINO and traitor McCain died.
One of their local Never Trumper opinion writers closed her eulogy by stating that President Trump will never be the man that McCain was. I can only say Thank God that he is not.
Several months ago there was a full page ad on the paper claiming how trustworthy they were and that they didn't want their readers to get their news from any online source. Now THAT'S a red flag if ever there was one!! I live in a conservative county in PA and it's my belief that they are bleeding subscribers ; therefore the need for the ad.
I guess that they've never heard the adage that actions speak louder than words. They still spike facts that are inconvenient for them.
