A Best Buy deliveryman allegedly doused a woman with a liquid chemical and beat her to death after installing her washer and dryer in Florida, cops said. Jorge Luis Depre Lachazo, 21, arrived at the Boca Raton home with his co-worker to install the appliances on Monday and was eventually left alone with Evelyn Udell to explain how to use the devices, according to the Boca Raton Police Department. The co-worker suddenly heard screams and ran inside to discover the 75-year-old Udell lying on the floor covered in blood. Lachazo then hopped into the delivery van and fled, cops said. Udell was rushed to

What the hell is happening? How do you respond to something like this? Who hasn't had someone in their home installing a washer or some other appliance, or perhaps the cable guy? How do you protect yourself? This is nuts. Poor woman. I am so sorry for her and her family and friends. I guess you need to have a house full of people with you when you need your dishwasher serviced. Oh, man. Speechless.

Poster #2, a few years ago we bought a dishwasher from Sears. When the guy delivered it, he was supposed to hook it up to the power and water. He looked at where it was supposed to go and told me the wiring was wrong and he couldn't do it. When my husband came home, he couldn't see anything wrong so we called Sears and the next day a new guy came out and hooked everything up. He said he didn't know why the first guy didn't do it because there was nothing wrong. It was only later that I realized what the problem was. I had several cartoons on the fridge making fun of obama and this guy was, how shall I put it, obviously an obama fan. I make sure from now on if there is any kind of repair or delivery man in my house, I remove anything that might give away my political preference. That's the kind of country we have become because of the GDdemocrats.

I also hide anything remotely political when the carpet cleaner comes, etc. Just about every repairman, service tech, delivery guy in my area is Hispanic and I’m not taking any chances—don’t want a purposely bad job done or have them target me later for something else. We know how unhinged the left is. As for this story—Best Buy is going to get sued. I wonder his status, too.

It is best not to trust anyone who comes into your house to make a delivery, repair, or clean. I routinely hide valuables, pictures of the Trumps, and turn off Rush Limbaugh before they show up.

Coward! Hope he gets the king of all beatdowns in prison, but that probably won't happen. Hope he gets the death penalty. Scary. When interacting with strangers, one has no clue what they are dealing with these days. How in the world did Best Buy end up hiring this monster?

I would guess that Best Buy isn't vetting it's employee very well. I just had a washer installed from best buy. I will say that the guys that we had were great and did a fine job. Maybe I was just lucky.

Any stranger in my house delivering, maintaining, or fixing anything... this lady is packing. Husband demands this. I got the kids to protect. Threatening Mama Bear or her cubs is a good way to get dead.

Best Buys "Geek Squad" was caught in a sting operation telling a customer, who was a FED, his computer had serious problems, The FED computer was purposely made with what would have been repairable in 5 minutes, but greed took over. There are many repair places, electronic, car, mechanical that try to play games. It happened to me at a Sear car repair shop many years ago. I instanstly called them out and they folded like a cheap tent.

Article says he used marijuana and cocaine prior to the call. How many horrible crimes are due to these habits? That fact is not always publicized in reports.

Things like this make it so hard to follow Christ's instructions and example (to love our enemies and to pray for our persecutors). What Lachazo allegedly did virtually begs for eye-for-an-eye justice.
Re #2 -- you also need friends and/or family to remain in your home while you attend funerals or weddings (or vigilant neighbors to keep watch for opportunistic burglars).

Nothing you can do to him will bring her back, but a bullet in the head might make the rest of us feel better. He might have asked her for money while his partner was outside.
About 20 years ago, I had a repair man coming in the morning with excuse after excuse about being late. When he finally showed up, he asked to use the bathroom. I heard him open the medicine cabinet, never used the toilet or fake flushed. People who live alone and the elderly are vulnerable. Mostly, it's subcontractors and grandma's trip to the doctor thru Medicare transportation is just as risky.
