But here’s the point: how does the omission of “so if fear was the driving force of policies to keep America safe, Americans safe inside of this country,” change the import of Omar’s statement? How do those additional words make Omar’s assertions either less false or less offensive?

As usual, the meeting was an occasion for Israel-bashing. This time, there was considerable discussion regarding the demolition by Israeli forces on July 22nd of buildings in the Wadi Hummus/Sur Bahir neighborhood of East Jerusalem. Most of the buildings were still under construction. The Palestinians argued that

Ella Starling, 27, and her husband Jackson, 29, are committed environmental activists and had always planned to have children together. But the couple fear that the “planet is not right for a baby” and after extensively researching the risks that come hand-in-hand with climate change, have drawn to the conclusion that bringing a child into the world would be “unfeasible” right now. “The decision to not have children hurts, but I am not convinced the future of our planet

Cuba is going through hard times again and medicine is in very low supply, according to news reports: Locals on the island have complained in recent months that some drugs are so difficult to find that patients and their families are forced to camp out overnight at their local pharmacy, hoping to secure a prime place in line to purchase some of the small shipments when they arrive. The shortage is part of a larger economic crisis on the island that has forced Cubans to stand on lines for hours to buy basic goods like chicken, cooking oil, and flour. As always, the regime blames everyone else but

Trump supporters are right to feel vindication after Robert Mueller's testimony before Congress. At times the special counsel seemed unfamiliar with the contents of his own report. He came across as aloof and confused and often unable to answer both Democratic and Republican questions to the lawmakers' satisfaction. The same media figures that began the day saying Mueller's appearance might be the game changer ended up calling it a flop. "Democrats now have one option to end Trump's presidency," read the headline of Dan Balz's analysis in the Washington Post. "The 2020 election." Trump, as always, put it more memorably: "TRUTH IS A FORCE OF NATURE!"

The Justice Department is intent on reviewing transcripts of recordings that at least one government informant made of conversations with former Trump campaign associate George Papadopoulos. Little is known about these classified transcripts, including who is the source, other than the growing hype about them in conservative circles. Former Rep. Trey Gowdy called them a "game changer" in a Fox News interview in May. But progress is being made to peel back the mystery, according to a Fox News report, as Attorney General William Barr and U.S. Attorney John Durham's investigation into the origins of the Russia investigation and possible misconduct by DOJ and FBI officials ramps up.

Ding-Dong! The witch hunt is dead! After nearly three years, Russiagate is lifeless, and Special Counsel Robert Swan Mueller III killed it. The former FBI director’s stumbling, stammering appearances Wednesday before the House Judiciary and Intelligence Committees provided a rare moment of bipartisanship. Democrats and Republicans were shocked to see the Vietnam War hero, Purple Heart recipient, and veteran federal lawman as adrift as a helium balloon in a hurricane as he struggled to answer many questions about the Mueller report and dodged others. Thursday’s New York Post summed it up: “Bumbling Bob Bombs.”

Alan Dershowitz is a lifelong liberal, but in recent years he has diverged from the left-wing line on a few issues, including Israel and, to a degree, the Trump administration. That has brought the knives out. Liberal anti-Semites, in particular, are out to get him. The New Yorker, a disgusting rag, has been “researching” a hit piece on Dershowitz for some time. Apparently the magazine has dredged up two “accusers” who had something to do with Jeffrey Epstein, and claim that Dershowitz had sexual relations with them. The allegations appear to be entirely false, and may have been cooked up by the partisan lawyer David Boies, who somehow

Democrats reacted with disappointment to Friday's Supreme Court ruling allowing the Trump administration to divert $2.5 billion in Pentagon funds for border wall construction. The 5-4 ruling, which broke along ideological lines, means President Trump can tap into military funds to begin work to replace fencing along the southern border in California, Arizona and New Mexico. Earlier this month, the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in San Francisco had agreed with a lower-court ruling that prevented the government from tapping that funding. Trump declared a national emergency along the border to get up to $8.1 billion for wall construction, including the $2.5 billion from the Defense Department. He called the ruling
