Forty-three percent of freshman Rep. Ben McAdams’ constituents “strongly” or “somewhat” approve of the job he is doing in Congress, according to a new poll, giving the lone Democrat in Utah’s federal delegation the highest show of support among his Washington peers.
The highest rate of disapproval in the poll goes to freshman Sen. Mitt Romney, with 40% of voters objecting to his job performance compared with 38% who support him.

Yes. But will those constituents tell Mittens to come home?...any home...pick a home. He is counting on no one challenging him.

Then why'd they elect him? Mitt's time passed long ago and just because he is Mormon is not enough reason.

Anyone with one eye and half a brain could have predicted what Mittens would do in the Senate. It looks like for Mormons, the only thing that matters is who wears the magic underwear.

Interesting place, Utah. It's a culturally conservative State, with an enormous private social welfare infrastructure run by the church. Ninety percent of the State lives within an hour of the twin cities of Salt Lake and Provo.
Salt Lake and ski town Park City have gone full-on metro-Marxist. That started with the election of a closeted gay man as Mayor of Salt Lake. Salt Lake is now a haven for Gays, Leftists and coed-murdering black men who prefer a less stressful (read less crime-ridden) metropolitan experience with fast access to the outdoors and easy travel to the West Coast and Vegas. It was no surprise to be standing behind two well-to-do gay men and their adopted infant in line at Ikea last week. This is the face of urban Utah.
These two tribes came to blows last week on an Inland Port hearing, where the conservative State government flexed it's power over the Leftist City government, and the Left went full Antifa. This happens periodically. The last time was when Park City kept out a recreational facility for the military. They wanted drunken movie stars, not drunken sailors. The State responded by deregulating zoning over military development. A savy developer used this to his advantage to build a film studio on the outskirts of Park City, which is now the home of the Yellowstone series.
Periodically, we get these strange concessions to the Left at the State level, that are nothing more than pandering but are letting the camel into the tent. The last two were the anti-hate-speech law and legalization of "medical" marijuana.
Mitt is nothing more than a failed opportunist who squandered a great opportunity to do something really good for America. Proud to say I have never checked his name on the ballot, other then the Flight 93 presidential vote.

Why did Mitt come back, and what does he think he is helping on any level? I am confused by what he thinks he is doing that is good for anyone.

So are remarks about religiously significant underwear within the rules for commenting as in reply $3? Offensive and time that the otherizing of the LDS religion followers is recognized as the anachronism that it is.
IMO unseemly and dare we say unAmerican?.
I think Mitt thinks he is going to help the establishment GOP remain the last ones standing but by now he maybe seeing better that the establishment and President Trump's GOP need to merge.

Put me down as one of those 'no' votes for Romney. I don't live there but I would like to see him go away. He is useless.

He'll win again. Don't rule out crossover vote, and voter fraud.

Perfect, except it will be 5 more years of that stinker Romney before they can get rid of him.

Mormon preachers are not allowed to speak in Somalia. Missed the ceremony at Promontory --150 year continental--not intercontinental--railroad celebration.

Accusations of religious bigotry cut both ways. There are some people on this site who supported Mitt Romney because he was LDS just as there are a few people who opposed him for the same reason. I am neither.
I opposed Romney because I believed he re-entered politics to destroy President Trump and restore the establishment GOP that his father helped build. I said he would take every opportunity to stick a needle in our president and would stab him in the back if given a chance.
As always, Romney has lived down to my expectations. Those who promoted him on this site because they share his faith need to re-check their math.

Salt Lake and Utah are fun to visit. However, I have refrained from going there since Willard was elected. The voters of Utah are complicit in every foolish public utterance he makes.
