“Yooo they violated them!! They viiiiolated themmm!!!!” So went the commentary of a woman heard on a now-viral cellphone video showing two male police officers in Brooklyn being doused with buckets of water last Saturday, after approaching a group on the street. Even after the officers had turned and walked away, perpetrators kept dumping water on them, while onlookers pointed and laughed. Another video that made the rounds on Saturday shows two NYPD officers being drenched, taunted, and, at one point, assaulted by a crowd consisting of mostly young black men. The officers seemed to be holding a handcuffed suspect on the hood of a black sedan.
Many were dismayed

There's no fear with all of Cuomo's and de Blasio's illegals either.
These cops should have called for backup and arrested every single one of these feral animals. Although I suspect some libtard judge would let them loose on their own recognizance because 'they come from a good family'. LOL.
By the way, isn't assaulting a police officer considered a felony?

This is because of years of liberal politicians hamstringing the cops and throwing them under the bus. They got the police so tied up in knots that it is no wonder these insolent thugs are getting away with these outrageous assaults with impunity. If the police are allowed to have free rein as they did in the years all the way into the Sixties, you wouldn’t be reading about these ulcer-inducing news of assaults and provocations against the good men in all law enforcement capacities. Cops are supposed to be bad-asses when it comes to dealing with the bad guys. Enough already!

Why would anyone want to be a cop? I got fed up with it right quick in the early 80's. Its far worse now. No thanks. Society absolutely wants to go to hell. They demand it. And they will resent anyone who tries to stop it.

Fear is what these animals and the other people living in those areas are going to experience when they find that the Police will not respond to their calls. Laugh while you can, animals. Destroy each other and save us the trouble.

Well said. Far from being afraid of the police, most of those who commit criminal acts and prey on the law-abiding are emboldened. It has been building since the 90's, and literally exploded during the OVOMIT administration. The "Ferguson Effect" is real. Look at Baltimore, St. Louis, NY, Oakland, etc. A pullback from proactive policing results in emboldened predators and mayhem. As someone once said, A society that makes enemies of it's police officers had better make friends with the criminals. Buckle up. Unless we reverse course soon, it's gonna get much worse.
As to the incidents recently exposed, my guess is that the officers are under strict orders to avoid engaging the suspects, or they just made the personal determination that they wanted to avoid being the next Darren Wilson (Ferguson). Any engagement with the suspect has the potential to escalate; even to the point of lethal force. It depends on the suspect's resistance, and how far they're willing to go.
Bottom line; use of force is never pretty (especially on social media). Context is missing, and there's only a partial picture of the incident. On top of that, most people just can't stomach the ugly reality of a desperate struggle between a suspect who's determined to escape, and an officer who's determined (and bound by their oath) to prevent that.

No, this is what anarchy looks like. Pull the cops out and make that hood a no-go zone.

Mostly young black men? What were the rest of the crowd?
This is America under a DeBlasio presidency.

I can’t understand democrat politicians who encourages this kind of behavior because they have to live in the same country as the rest of us and even though they are protected, they or some member of their family may not always be. Eventually, violence will overtake us all until we are living in a Mad Max world. Is a vote really worth going down that path? Clearly, the democrats believe it is. Once violence and chaos is abetted, it does not take long for society to collapse. The idiot power hungry politicians are giving this behavior a pass but we will all suffer for it. Already, there are areas that white people dare not go into and the only reason is because of their skin tone. Police refuse to patrol there and the people living there know nothing but violence and intimidation.
Until we bring back self-respect and respect for others this will only get worse. If you have to convince the people in your community that the police are there for good, you have a problem and it all starts in the home. You must teach respect to your children. They have to learn to respect those in authority at a very young age. It is not enough to put the fear of God into them to just respect you. It is imperative that you instill in them a respect for everyone but especially those who are tasked with keeping you safe by enforcing law and order. So many issues we see today in young people are a product of parents who refuse to parent. If they talk disparaging of people in authority in the presence of their children, you can be sure those kids will not respect anyone who they come in contact with from teachers to the police to their fellow citizens. Everything starts in the home and too many people have abdicated their responsibilities. Now that the streets are full of thugs, the only recourse is the heavy hand of law enforcement as it should be because it is the only way to keep the peace. The rest of the law abiding population rightly demand it. Remember, never vote for a democrat.

I suppose this will never happen, but, since I don't live in a big city, I would like to see the NYPD stand down. Or maybe start acting like they are law enforcement. Kent State wasn't pretty but it was effective.

The minority communities are taught this by left-wing educators and celebrities. "We are victims!" Is combined with, "Be Strong! Don't put up with sh**!, bang-bang this and that..."
You end up with mis-directed vigilanteism aimed at the people trying to protect them. All to support the idea that they 'need' certain politicians to change things.
If they dont first change themselves, they will forever be enslaved to the life they hate, and slaves to the people who use them for their power.

#6, allow me to disagree slightly with you. This was brought to our culture by none other than Zero. All of this racist division and anti police behavior can be laid at his (and his administration's) feet!
