The past five years have seen a massive migration of Americans out of heavily Democratic counties and into ones where Donald Trump won majorities in each of the past three elections. That’s according to an exclusive analysis by Issues & Insights of the latest Census Bureau and election data.
Most analyses of internal migration patterns look only at state-level data. And what they show is that blue states are losing population to red states, and have been for many years.
I&I wanted to go deeper, so we used the latest Census data on migration between counties, and compared that with how these counties voted in the past three presidential elections.

The real reason why Dems fight for no voter ID and open borders.
Regardless of anything else, their tax bases are drying up, as the immigrants don't pay a lot of taxes.

As has been said a thousand times on this site...Just leave your leftwing voting habits in your blue hellhole when you move.

Great point #2. I could not glean from the article what the Political leanings of the people that moved are. Anecdotally, most of the people I know that have moved have TDS, but enough $$ of value in their home to make the move. They were too brainwashed to admit that failed policies and corruption ruined their communities. I guess the midterms willl show us the result.

Sadly, 2, for the most part, that is probably like asking Mo's followers to leave their religion behind when they infiltrate a civilized country.

I suspect that many movers are still Democrats at heart but tired of the mayhem and taxes they previously voted for.

That's what I fear: few people "coming home", but many just "invading".

Trump won 86% of all the counties in the US. Wonder how many people from these went to the other side?

I'm one of those who left, leaving Los Angeles for Albuquerque . From talking with others who moved, a good portion of us are conservatives who finally had enough after extreme COVID lockdown and seized the opportunity to get out. Paired with 3% mortgages, it was a wise, once in a lifetime financial opportunity.
I have found that many who left a large city tended to move to another city in a red or purple state. Seeing how most of the left saw no reason to even question the draconian regulations and support the left's policies, many saw no reason to leave. If they were on the left, many chajged parties.

Are they there to dilute the Republicans votes? I don't trust them.

My fear is that these might be like so many liberals I know who are "financially conservative but socially liberal" but who always vote Democrat. Once they are no longer financially affected by their past Democrat votes in their blue states from which they escaped, will continue to vote Democrat as social liberals in the red states that they escaped to until they wreck that state as well as the country. They just don't understand the financial consequences of their votes.

Being a democrat is like being in a cult. It's hard to leave the cult and their way of thinking, because cults convince people they are exclusive and more virtuous than everybody else. It's hard to come down from that highfalutin thinking.

The telling point with be how does the GOP take advantage of this and craft a message that resonates and motivates people to vote for Republicans even when Trump is not on the ballot.

While I haven’t seen statistics, I suspect tourists will avoid the soft on crime woke state/cities more and more, impacting their economies. It’s a vicious circle. Now who really wants to walk the streets of once loved SF, NYC, LA, etc…..

At least they are the smarter democrats if they can foresee what their deranged governments are going to do to them to make life worse. Regardless of the circumstances, I thoroughly enjoy hearing people like Hochul, Madman-i and Newsom begging them to come back home because they have so much debt still left to pay and so many giveaway programs for parasites to fund.

Through income redistribution, the red states will be supporting the blue state communism.

#2 There is a State that was decidedly red, but turned blue after migration and that state was COLORADO. Californians moved to Colorado over the last decade or so and turned a lovely Red State into purple and now a blue state.

Taxpayers are tired of the crummy way the democrats run their cities and states. That's why they have to open the borders to all kinds of people, including killers, thieves, robbers, and a lot of riffraff. It's not a quality political party. Losers, actually.

Twenty five years ago I lived in Loudoun County, VA, near DC. It was a most pleasant place and the GOP controlled county government. But, the swarm of democrat socialists--people working for politicians or associations that were left leaning moved in and tipped the political scales to make it the known democrat haven it has become today. The problem is that these folks came as missionaries for socialism rather than refugees from it.
So, they moved in and turned red turf to blue, so I moved to West Virginia, a solid red state where every county, (all 55 of them), turned up red for the 2016, 2020 and 2024.election. It is great living in a state where the far-left ideas are quickly rejected. It's like, well, Almost Heaven.
