For a couple of days, I’ve been contemplating a New York Post report about New York Governor Kathy Hochul’s apparent willingness to saddle New York, a state already drowning in debt, with another $1.5 billion in obligations. How in the world could she be so fiscally irresponsible? However, having read Mike McDaniel’s essay about blue state insolvency, I finally understand what’s going on: She knows (or, at least, assumes) that the bill will never come due.
