The Kamala Effect

Happy Friday, dear Kruiser Morning Briefing friends. Merrwysq felt that kombucha was the gateway drug to quoting Sartre in service elevators. It's a pretty safe bet to assume that most politicians are more self-involved than they are self-aware. Perhaps it wasn't always that way, but we know what we're dealing with here in the modern era. There are varying degrees of lack of self-awareness among politicians and few in history have been more clueless than the woman who recently spent four years being one heartbeat away from the presidency, Kamala Harris.

If Kruiser is right the Democrats need to dump a gay man and a Jewish man for a their version of a WASP - a spoiled, condescending elitist whose ambition outpaces his ability by a mile. A man who has burned down, impoverished and caused California to hemorrhage citizens. But the Democrat Party always rises from the ashes it creates to rule again. Why? Because their “opposition” is also run by Democrats.

Maybe some Democrats are now realizing that "diversity" has done to the Democrat Party what it has done to America.

I would guess that Democrats that are not brain dead are not wanting to repeat Biden’s Dumb Extravagant Incompetent (DEI) VP mumbling word salad as she blows Billions of dollars campaigning again. The fact that she is rated higher than Newsome speaks volumes about the quality of the presidential candidates the Democrats have to offer.

FTA:The Axios piece must have given great comfort to California Gov. Gavin Newsom, who is the only candidate on their electoral horizon who fits the description Is Gov. Grecian a Christian? I have never heard him identify as one. He and wifey seem more like New Age vaguely ''spiritual'' with no core beliefs.

Joe Kent's 'Smart' Career Move 2 replies

In a recent and viral announcement, Joe Kent resigned as Director of the National Counterterrorism Center. In the letter, he accused the Trump administration of bowing to Israeli lobby pressure on Iran. He also stated that Iran (a nation that regularly proclaims “death to America”) “posed no imminent threat to our nation.” The reactions were mixed: A sharp rebuke from the White House, praise from Marjorie Taylor Greene, and a podcast appearance with Tucker Carlson. In the end, though, this move by Kent was not principled or patriotic.

President Trump’s fiscal year 2027 budget request, released on Friday, asks Congress to spend $152 million to reopen Alcatraz as a “state-of-the-art secure prison facility.” The President has long embraced tough lock-up conditions for violent criminals “as a symbol of Law, Order, and JUSTICE.” Last May, President Trump called the Bureau of Prisons to reopen the original Alcatraz off the coast of San Francisco to house the “dregs of society.” He said in a Truth Social Post, “We will no longer be held hostage to criminals, thugs, and Judges that are afraid to do their job and allow us to remove criminals,

Iran told mediators that it will not meet with American officials in Islamabad, Pakistan, and has rejected U.S. demands, the Wall Street Journal reported Friday. The decision is the latest blow to President Donald Trump's efforts to broker an agreement to end the war, which began nearly five weeks ago. Trump stated this week that Iran had asked for a ceasefire, though he may have referenced a public comment from Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian expressing openness to a ceasefire in exchange for security guarantees.

The Trump Administration’s fraud task force, led by Vice President JD Vance, revealed on Thursday that it has identified and suspended 221 fraudulent hospice and healthcare providers. According to Fox News, the massive progress comes after just 70 providers were initially suspended last week. But it’s not stopping there. “We expect this number to grow much, much higher in the coming weeks,” a senior Administration official said. The Administration’s War on Fraud once again yields results as more suspensions take place and fraudsters face justice for ripping off hard-working Americans and stealing their tax dollars and social services,” a spokesperson for Vance said.

President Trump has signed an executive order (EO) intended to reform and structure college sports, primarily by limiting the number of years a player is eligible and the number of transfers. The order states college athletes can play a maximum of five seasons during a five-year window and allows them to transfer schools only once before they graduate without having to sit out a season,” ESPN reports. “A school that plays an athlete who doesn’t meet these new limits could risk losing its federal funding.”Serious legal obstacles could prevent the order’s implementation. Trump hinted at as much during his roundtable with former college coaches and administrators last month.

The National Academies of Science, Engineering and Medicine (NASEM) is refusing to remove a chapter about climate science from an influential training manual used by judges all across the country, possibly some involved in climate cases. The manual is intended to be a neutral presentation of science to help judges involved in cases dealing with a range of issues where judges need to have some understanding of the underlying scientific principles of the case. The manual was created to bring judges up to speed on fundamental scientific understanding. Few — if any — federal judges are chemists, geologists or climatologists.

When the NFA was sold to the American public, it was defended not as an infringement of the Second Amendment, but as an action stemming from the federal government's taxation authority in the Constitution. It wasn't gun control, just a tax. The registry itself was simply a listing of everyone who had paid the tax. Easy peasy lemon squeezey. With President Donald Trump's One Big Beautiful Bill, the tax on short-barreled long guns and suppressors came to an end. However, the DOJ says it should keep the registry. To say it's being challenged is an understatement, and the groups fighting this just filed an amicus brief in the challenge.

It’s going to be very easy to buy Easter Eggs this year, thanks to President Trump. Egg prices are down by a staggering 80 percent. Remember when Trump had been reelected president for about ten minutes and Democrats started hassling him about the price of eggs, which had skyrocketed on Joe Biden’s watch? That was fun. Where are they now? Given all of the things Democrats have been outraged about since then, it seems like ancient history. This year’s Easter egg hunts may be a bit more fun and a lot less pricey. After getting shellacked by last year’s surge in egg prices, families heading into Easter this spring —

Illinois Democrat Sen. Tammy Duckworth sent a letter to the Transportation Security Administration on Friday demanding the agency rescind its "shoes-on" policy, according to a report. In a letter obtained by CBS News, Duckworth called the policy a "reckless act" that may be placing flight passengers at risk. Duckworth also warned that the policy was likely implemented "without meaningful consultation with TSA," citing an investigation by the Department of Homeland Security's inspector general that found it created a new security vulnerability in airport screening systems. The IG's classified report found that TSA scanners are unable to effectively screen shoes, raising concerns that threat items could evade detection. The report was allegedly buried

In a development raising red flags across the Atlantic, Britain’s Labour government has appointed the UK’s first “anti-Muslim hostility tsar” and adopted a new definition of anti-Muslim hostility — reframed from “Islamophobia” — as part of its £4 million social cohesion strategy. The definition describes such hostility as “a type of racism” targeting “expressions of Muslimness or perceived Muslimness,” including prejudicial stereotyping that could incite hatred. Officials claim it addresses record-high anti-Muslim hate crimes while protecting free speech. Critics, however, see it as a potential censorship tool that could limit scrutiny of Islamic extremism, grooming gangs, or integration challenges.

President Donald Trump on Friday proposed to begin privatizing airport security operations handled by the Transportation Security Administration, in an effort to save money. The White House budget proposes cutting funding for the federal agency created after the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks by $52 million and would require small airports to enroll in a program in which TSA pays for private screeners. TSA has about 50,000 federal employees who handle screening at nearly all U.S. airports. Budget documents released on Friday said airports currently using the privatization program have demonstrated savings compared to federal screening operations. In recent weeks, major U.S. airports suffered massive disruptions after TSA security officers went unpaid since mid-February

On that night, he stepped forward into danger with the same sense of purpose and nobility that defined his career. This week, a jury returned its verdict. And that not guilty verdict of murder in the first degree landed like a gut punch to the entire New York City Police Department.
