Joe Kent's 'Smart' Career Move

Original Article

In a recent and viral announcement, Joe Kent resigned as Director of the National Counterterrorism Center. In the letter, he accused the Trump administration of bowing to Israeli lobby pressure on Iran. He also stated that Iran (a nation that regularly proclaims “death to America”) “posed no imminent threat to our nation.” The reactions were mixed: A sharp rebuke from the White House, praise from Marjorie Taylor Greene, and a podcast appearance with Tucker Carlson. In the end, though, this move by Kent was not principled or patriotic.

No imminent threat? Perhaps not tomorrow, but what happens the day after they make a nuke? They are on record about destroying both the Great Satan and the Little Satan. Do we wait for a mushroom cloud over Tel Aviv before we categorize them as a threat? I pray that they come to their senses and kick out the clerics who want to take the entire country into their imagined 72 virgin paradise.

Regardless of his intentions, there was something really off about the guy that screamed Deep State to me. He would be one of the pups who would perform black bag jobs for people like Brennan and Obama. I propose that we create a special medal for people like him and call it the John McCain Award in memory of that little Weasel.

A veteran “60 Minutes” correspondent ripped the famed CBS programming as a “snake pit” plagued by “no civility.” Steve Kroft, who spent 30 years as one of the mainstay journalists on “60 Minutes,” told podcaster Bill O’Reilly that if he were offered the chance to do it again, he would respond: “No, I probably wouldn’t do it again…I hated it.” The 80-year-old former correspondent described the prestigious newsmagazine not as a dream job, but as a brutal grind and psychological battlefield that wore him down over time.

President Trump’s fiscal year 2027 budget request, released on Friday, asks Congress to spend $152 million to reopen Alcatraz as a “state-of-the-art secure prison facility.” The President has long embraced tough lock-up conditions for violent criminals “as a symbol of Law, Order, and JUSTICE.” Last May, President Trump called the Bureau of Prisons to reopen the original Alcatraz off the coast of San Francisco to house the “dregs of society.” He said in a Truth Social Post, “We will no longer be held hostage to criminals, thugs, and Judges that are afraid to do their job and allow us to remove criminals,

Iran told mediators that it will not meet with American officials in Islamabad, Pakistan, and has rejected U.S. demands, the Wall Street Journal reported Friday. The decision is the latest blow to President Donald Trump's efforts to broker an agreement to end the war, which began nearly five weeks ago. Trump stated this week that Iran had asked for a ceasefire, though he may have referenced a public comment from Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian expressing openness to a ceasefire in exchange for security guarantees.

The Trump Administration’s fraud task force, led by Vice President JD Vance, revealed on Thursday that it has identified and suspended 221 fraudulent hospice and healthcare providers. According to Fox News, the massive progress comes after just 70 providers were initially suspended last week. But it’s not stopping there. “We expect this number to grow much, much higher in the coming weeks,” a senior Administration official said. The Administration’s War on Fraud once again yields results as more suspensions take place and fraudsters face justice for ripping off hard-working Americans and stealing their tax dollars and social services,” a spokesperson for Vance said.

President Trump has signed an executive order (EO) intended to reform and structure college sports, primarily by limiting the number of years a player is eligible and the number of transfers. The order states college athletes can play a maximum of five seasons during a five-year window and allows them to transfer schools only once before they graduate without having to sit out a season,” ESPN reports. “A school that plays an athlete who doesn’t meet these new limits could risk losing its federal funding.”Serious legal obstacles could prevent the order’s implementation. Trump hinted at as much during his roundtable with former college coaches and administrators last month.

The National Academies of Science, Engineering and Medicine (NASEM) is refusing to remove a chapter about climate science from an influential training manual used by judges all across the country, possibly some involved in climate cases. The manual is intended to be a neutral presentation of science to help judges involved in cases dealing with a range of issues where judges need to have some understanding of the underlying scientific principles of the case. The manual was created to bring judges up to speed on fundamental scientific understanding. Few — if any — federal judges are chemists, geologists or climatologists.

When the NFA was sold to the American public, it was defended not as an infringement of the Second Amendment, but as an action stemming from the federal government's taxation authority in the Constitution. It wasn't gun control, just a tax. The registry itself was simply a listing of everyone who had paid the tax. Easy peasy lemon squeezey. With President Donald Trump's One Big Beautiful Bill, the tax on short-barreled long guns and suppressors came to an end. However, the DOJ says it should keep the registry. To say it's being challenged is an understatement, and the groups fighting this just filed an amicus brief in the challenge.

Remember when Trump had been reelected president for about ten minutes and Democrats started hassling him about the price of eggs, which had skyrocketed on Joe Biden’s watch? That was fun. Where are they now? Given all of the things Democrats have been outraged about since then, it seems like ancient history. This year’s Easter egg hunts may be a bit more fun and a lot less pricey. The moves by European leaders to stymie the United States in its conflict with the Islamist Iranian regime, apparently motivated by fear of potential blowback from Tehran and its proxies, appear set to incur a far greater strategic setback as Republicans call for a complete re-assessment of the NATO alliance. While leaders in Western Europe seemingly took the calculation that publicly rebuking U.S. President Donald Trump was in their political interest, given their largely left-liberal bases, growing Islamic populations opposed to any actions taken alongside Israel, and perhaps a belief that the MAGA base would split on the war, it appears that they have only succeeded in uniting the top brass
