European Leaders Now Know Trump Was Right:

March 20, 2026, marked a turning point in the 2026 Iran war, when Iran launched two intermediate-range ballistic missiles at the joint U.K.–U.S. military base on Diego Garcia, a remote island in the Indian Ocean. Although both missiles failed to reach their target—one malfunctioned in flight, while the other was successfully intercepted—the attack sent shockwaves through Western Europe. This missile proved that the late Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei had lied for years about the true range of Iran’s missile arsenal. Khamenei claimed Iran’s missiles could not threaten beyond the Middle East and their range had been limited to 2,000 kilometers.

FTA - "Leaders in the U.K., France, and other Western European states now realize their cities likely are in range of Iranian ballistic missiles, and they lack adequate missile defenses to protect them." How about that, Europe. Trump was right yet again. Over the past few weeks in iran, America covered your sorry behinds yet again.

This writer sounds pretty naive for someone with a CIA background. NATO consists of the US and all of the countries under its wings that we protect. Opining on what Europe should do is a pointless exercise. They aren’t capable of doing anything and the world knows it. They’ve allowed Muslims to take over and now they have as much danger inside their own countries as outside. Meanwhile their social programs take a much higher priority than their national security. Exactly what Democrats aspire to here.

They knew the danger all right. But due to their newly dominant demographic, they didn't dare say anything about it; or even appear to notice. Being oblivious is their new super-power. OK, their new feeble posture,

I respect Fred Flietz. I hope he is correct in saying: "European capitals are increasingly concerned about direct threats to their security and economies." I haven't read a lot of quotes to that effect. Second point: missiles are one thing; ships and boats are another. Any nation with an atom bomb can load one on a ship, bring it near any port, transfer it to a high speed boat, race into the port, and have some fanatic press the button. After the 911 attacks, Condoleeza Rice said something like, "No one could have imagined such an attack." Well, someone not only imagined it but carried it out.

NATO, which until very recently when Trump began to press for change was a collection of nations sheltered by the U.S. military umbrella, was the old and failed model for U.S.-regional alliances. Hopefully we won't fall into the same trap with the Iran war and have put our "Middle Eastern" partners on notice that if "boots on the ground" are necessary to finish the job those boots won't be exclusively or even primarily American.

"After the 911 attacks, Condoleeza Rice said something like, "No one could have imagined such an attack."" I remember that. As if Tom Clancy's "Debt of Honor" had never been written. In his 1994 novel a fully loaded 747 was guided into the capital during a Presidential address and wiped out Congress, the President, the supreme court and most of the administration. So it was not only imagined, it was in a best selling novel, seven years before 911. In the real world: A Mitchell B25 hit the Empire State building in 1945 The world trade center was intentionally built to withstand a 707 impact. The buildings might have survived 911 had the asbestos insulation initially installed not been replaced. Around 40 WWII ships sunk by kamikaze attacks. Of course, preceding Condoleeza Rice European leaders have a long record of not being able to imagine things they might have anticipated - Adolph Hitler surprised Neville Chamberlain quite handily and the Blitzkrieg very effectively surprised British and French commanders huddled behind their impenetrable Maginot line.

As President Trump cranks up pressure on Iran, Pentagon brass are quietly lining up a wide menu of military options — which could put US boots on the ground in a major war for the first time in nearly half a decade. For now, Trump is pursuing a dual-track strategy: building overwhelming military pressure while leaving the door open to a deal — even extending a Friday deadline for Tehran to meet US demands. Meanwhile, thousands of US troops, including elements of the elite 82nd Airborne Division, are surging into the region alongside Air Force, Navy and Marine assets —

President Donald Trump is executing the playbook he developed for Venezuela to pressure the communist Cuban regime to capitulate, thereby removing the last major bastion of foreign adversary influence in the Western Hemisphere. And after essentially cutting off the island’s oil supply, there are signs that the regime is starting to feel the heat. In the aftermath of the U.S. operation to apprehend Venezuelan dictator Nicolás Maduro earlier this year, the Trump administration has ramped up its pressure on Cuba, a close partner of Maduro and, since its communist revolution in 1959 led by Cuban revolutionary leader Fidel Castro,

The second scenario is for Trump to refocus on Iran's arsenal of missiles by claiming it has been wiped out thus enabling him to end the war. However, that would mean becoming hostage to fortune. It would be sufficient for Tehran to fire a rocket or a drone just days after Trump's declaration of victory to show that the leader of the mightiest power in history has thrown in the towel a bit too soon. The third scenario, favored by some in Trump's kitchen cabinet but absolutely hated by Israeli Premier Benjamin Netanyahu is the Venezuela model:
