A U.S. fighter jet shot down an Iranian drone as it approached the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln in the Arabian Sea on Tuesday, according to a statement from U.S. Central Command. Earlier in the day, a Navy destroyer came to the assistance of a U.S.-flagged tanker that was harassed by multiple Iranian small boats as it transited the Strait of Hormuz. The drone was shot down by a Navy F-35C fighter jet from the carrier as it "aggressively approached" the Lincoln with "unclear intent," Central Command said.

Chances are the Iranian drone was sent to size up the exact position of the US aircraft carrier so that the Iranians could fire a large land based missile at the aircraft carrier! Clearly the US Navy is not taking any chances.

That socialist utopia that Mamdani was supposed to deliver has instead turned into a slow-motion fiscal catastrophe a mere two months in — and even the liberal media is starting to notice. To put that into perspective, Mamdani’s proposed budget is

I Would Bet on Trump Striking Iran Soon,

Ed wrote this morning about reports that Trump is considering limited strikes on Iran in order to prod them to move to our position on disarmament. He rightly notes that "limited" strikes are exactly the wrong way to go, which is why I believe these reports are basically disinformation, meant to suggest that massive strikes are not imminent. The rational order of battle should be the opposite. First, take out the anti-aircraft and radar systems in Iran with stealth bombers and fighters, and immediately after start going after the launchers on a massive first wave. We wouldn't get all of them or even most of them the first time,

In a 6-3 Friday, the Supreme Court blocked President Donald Trump’s imposition of reciprocal tariffs, which the president had successfully used to raise much-needed government revenue and level the playing field with countries charging exorbitant tariffs on U.S. goods. The decision upheld rulings by lower courts declaring Trump’s use of a presidential emergency power provision to unilaterally impose the tariffs unconstitutional. The ruling invalidating Trump’s tariffs immediately sparked extravagant conjecture and commentary about the implications of the decision. “It is important to be clear about what the Supreme Court’s decision on IEEPA does — and does not — do,” Rep. Dan Meuser (R-Pa.) wrote in a social media post

Until the impossible became possible — and Donald Trump engineered the political upset of his generation, toppling Hillary Clinton in 2016 — most Americans had no idea who Steve Bannon was. Visually, he wasn’t much to look at. Bannon wasn’t a workout wonder like RFK Jr., with six-pack abs, nor was he blessed with movie star good looks. Some guys were born with oodles of charisma — the kind of raw, undeniable magnetism that leaps off the screen. Bannon, alas, wasn’t one of those people. There’s a reason why Trump nicknamed him “Sloppy Steve.” But after Trump was elected, the media hunted for an explanation. Surely a bumble-headed dunce like Trump couldn’t

The Supreme Court on Friday struck down President Trump’s tariffs after finding the International Emergency Economic Powers Act did not give him the power to impose sweeping protectionist measures. The Court upheld an earlier federal circuit court ruling in a 6-3 decision, with Justices Clarence Thomas, Samuel Alito and Brett Kavanaugh dissenting. “Based on two words separated by 16 others in … IEEPA,” Chief Justice John Roberts writes, “‘regulate’ and ‘importation’–the President asserts the independent power to impose tariffs on imports from any country, of any product, at any rate, for any amount of time.

MILAN — For its first six games at these Winter Olympics, the U.S. women’s hockey team was unbeaten and unchallenged. Yet for the first 58 minutes of Thursday’s gold medal game, it looked unnerved — unable to score and headed toward a stunning upset against its archrival, Canada. Nine days after the U.S. had riddled Canada's defense for five goals in a group-play rout, that same Canadian defense had transformed into a stonewalling unit that had shut out the most unstoppable offense of the Milan Cortina Olympics. Then Hilary Knight, the U.S. captain playing in her fifth and final Olympics, skated in front of the Canadian goal with two minutes remaining

U.S. President Donald Trump is weighing a limited initial military strike against Iran in an effort to compel Tehran to accept his demands for a new nuclear agreement, The Wall Street Journal reported late Thursday. The report said the potential move is intended to increase pressure on Tehran to reach a deal without triggering a large-scale assault that could prompt a significant Iranian response. Citing people familiar with the matter, the newspaper reported that if approved, the strike could take place within days and would target military or government sites. If Iran continues to reject Trump’s conditions for halting uranium enrichment, the United States could respond

US President Donald Trump’s withdrawal of support for the UK plans to give up sovereignty over the Chagos Islands in the Indian Ocean — which includes the key Diego Garcia airfield — stems from the British refusal, reports the UK paper. According to the report, US plans included the use of Diego Garcia and the RAF Fairford base in England, both of which can only be used to strike if the UK government agrees. British PM Keir Starmer is concerned the Iran strike might violate international law.

Don’t worry: Friday’s Supreme Court decision limiting some of President Donald Trump’s tariff powers won’t derail his larger, vital project of rebalancing US trade relations, boosting US industry and safeguarding US supply chains — nor should it. Yes, he’ll need to find other ways (more permanent and legally airtight) to pursue those goals, but the high court’s ruling against his across-the-board tariffs illegal also made it clear he has many such tools at his disposal — including other tariff powers. Even many of his allies warned that imposing import duties under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act was legally dubious;

Few things in Washington, D.C., generate as much as excitement and intrigue as a Supreme Court confirmation showdown. For decades, since the eponymous "borking" of then-Supreme Court nominee Bob Bork in 1987, political battles surrounding the membership of the nation's high court have been among the most contentious and raucous of Beltway affairs. Which is why it's rather curious that very few outside the most fervid of court-watchers seem to be discussing the distinct possibility that there could be one or two Supreme Court vacancies after the current term ends this summer.
