Democrats on Tuesday voted for the 13th time to keep the federal government shut — as Senate Majority Leader John Thune told The Post there was an easy fix to ensure millions of Americans won’t lose access to SNAP food payments. “The simplest way to end it and the simplest way to make sure that people are getting the food assistance they need is to pick up the bill and give us five votes,” Thune said in an exclusive interview as the Senate failed to reopen the government in a 54-45 vote. “And we’ll, we’ll send it to the president. An Indian man who was in the United States illegally is in custody after a stabbing that took place aboard an airliner on Saturday. Praneeth Kumar Usiripalli, 28, is charged with one count of assault with a dangerous weapon with intent to do bodily harm while traveling on an aircraft in the special aircraft jurisdiction of the United States, according to a Department of Justice news release. The incident took place aboard a Lufthansa flight from Chicago that had been scheduled to land in Frankfurt, Germany. Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates now says climate change “will not lead to humanity’s demise,” despite having spent years fearmongering over rising global temperatures.
