A dedicated prayer room for Muslims has reportedly been opened inside the 500-year-old Vatican Apostolic Library in Rome after a plea for the separate, carpeted space was made by visiting Islamic scholars. The Catholic Herald reports Fr Giacomo Cardinali, Vice Prefect, said in an interview with the Italian newspaper La Repubblica that Muslim academics had requested an area in which to pray, and the library had agreed. “Some Muslim scholars have asked us for a room with a carpet for praying and we have given it to them,” he said.
In the interview, Cardinali referred to the library’s modern collections: about 80,000 manuscripts, 50,000 archival items, nearly

Just wondering if the local mosque will be putting in a small Christian Chapel? Or a small space for Jewish believers or maybe Mormons. And what about the Satanic followers? Don't want to forget about them. s/o You know what they say about the Mosque nose being under the Vatican. I have been to the Vatican and had no need to feel that every other religion should be represented. I mean, gee whiz, it is Catholic.

Honoring a religion that was created seven centuries after Christianity and that does not believe in the Resurrection. In theory, there is some overlap between the two religions, but in practice, they are worlds apart. I wonder if this will cause other religions, real or imagined, to ask for their own dedicated space in the Vatican.

I wouldn't have brought it up if people weren't rude about the Pope, but so far I think the Muslims have not caught up to the Church destructions by the Presbyterians. The Gauls sacked Rome, the German barbarians sacked it, but so far Islam has never sacked it. The Lutheran troops of the Holy Roman Empire sacked it worse than anybody. Napoleon put the Pope in jail. We do know the issues, and all these relationships have calmed down, to the pleasure of God. I hope for peace with Islam but accept it may require a long term view. Iran by the way today opened a metro station named for the Blessed Virgin Mary. Are we to shut them out of the Vatican?

As I understand from people in the know this so-called American Pope is wholly owned, operated by, and the puppet of the European mafia bishops who hate Trump and I suspect the United States of America. They don't hate our money though. But I digress. That is why no dedicated announcement about Charlie Kirk. I'm a Eucharistic minister and I'm still smarting from that. AND OH BY THE WAY, I'm still waiting for some kind of statement from this clown of a pope on the absolutely history making Israel/Palestinian ceasefire, the rescue of the remaining hostages by Trump and the President bringing together nearly every serious and not so serious country on the planet to sign on and support that cease fire. I am totally, totally disgusted by the Catholic Church. So this muslim thing, I am definitely not shocked or surprised.

Next their beloved Muslims will be demanding (and perhaps receiving) that they get rid of all the Sacramental Wine for the services, and quit serving pork in the Vatican Cafeteria.
And say, wouldn't the Vatican Obelisk make a great minaret from which to blare the 'Adhan'; "Call to Prayer" five times a day?

Heresy. This pope is no pope.
He would do well to remember what happened when Moses returned from the mountain to discover his people worshipping a golden calf... And also when Jesus chased the money-lenders from the Temple with a knotted cord, overturning their tables.
This Pope's days are numbered. And soon he will have to give account to God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.

#23, maybe tread a little lighter here. #14 is a long-standing L-Dotter whose conservative credentials are equally well known. As I read the reply, somebody made a decision to leave a church because they disagreed with that church's doctrine. Many other equally conservative people on this site have done likewise in both directions over the years.
Speaking personally, I admire the intellectual consistency of the Catholic Church's position on life (and many other things), but I would not choose to live under the rules they ask of their members. For one thing, I'm too fond of killing criminals who deserve it.

The Catholic Church supports illegal invasion of western countries, uses taxpayer support for it, under the veil of caring for the poor, not Catholic Church care, but taxpayer care, who don't support, or want to pay for it. The Catholic Church has a poor history of supporting Nazi's, selling indulgences, supporting invasions into sovereign countries where the population opposes it, and using other people's money without their consent.

The Church isn’t a pope’s policy - it’s us, the Body of Christ, with Jesus as our Head (Col 1:18; CCC 787-795). If you’ve left because of bad popes, sinful priests, or the hard call to say Yes! to life as Mary did (and Eve did not), then you’ve misunderstood what the Church truly is - and you’re starving yourself of the Eucharist (John 6:53). That’s not liberation; that’s loss. Maybe you were poorly catechized or are making uninformed judgments based on imperfect knowledge, but don’t confuse human failure with divine truth -- because that same human failure will find you everywhere you look for your own more convenient truth.
As for inviting the camel into the tent, history warns that goodwill can be exploited - the Trojan Horse wasn’t just a myth - and that discernment matters. Still, nothing changes the reality that Christ, the risen Lord, is infinitely greater than Muhammad, and His promise remains unshaken: “The gates of hell shall not prevail against it” (Matt 16:18)

Thanks for this post. It shocks. It is not what the Church says, or does, that matters most as we know. It is true that Christ chased out those debasing the Temple, but then it was God's house. Christ put an end to that, He became the Church. The Church has not attained that distinction. However, the Church does profess its significance as a house of God. If that connection applies, then in looking to the OT as the point of origin back then God commanded us to leave those wild donkeys alone. Those wild donkeys sprouted from Abraham, and God did make them a great nation, and Islam claims those roots. So, God told the Israelites, His people, to leave them in the desert. But if none of that applies, then house rules apply; and Christ did say love your enemy, (I think in a theological sense), with the hope that we will learn to love one another, but I don't think to the point that what He started would be destroyed. Clear as mud. I believe Catholics must follow their leader, like soldiers ordered to do something that makes no sense to them - it's above their pay grade.

Pope Benedict suffered, and all modern day Catholics suffer-because these 2 heretics are not popes.
they are wholly-owned ccp commie killers supported by satanic globalist commie killers.
we have farmed Irish land for well over 1,500 years. as the children of St Patrick, we have worshipped
the Great God Almighty as rock- ribbed Catholics to this day.
the Vatican ''gave'' Eire-right down to the last child- to an English pope. [hadrian].
many Irish felt defeated; they lost the will to live. But we stayed put. we serve no other God.
the same can be said for many stalwart english catholics.
the devil was not done with us, however.
for our priceless land and beliefs and prosperity, our people were dispossessed, evicted, burned alive, murdered
where they stood, transported...
2/3 of the citizenry were driven from the country, and /or starved to death by genocide. [Scots as well]
this history is being repeated 2x over now against our fellow farmers in the Catholic Ukraine .
the saints and seers warned us tribulations from within and without. but we stay put.

For a brief moment i thought, we, ok, for visiting scholars. Then I wondered about mecca, how would they handle the shoe boing on the other foot. Here's how: A "Muslims Only" zone: Signs on highways leading to Mecca clearly mark it as off-limits to non-Muslims. This ban is a long-standing Saudi law, and attempting to enter can result in penalties like deportation or fines; non-Muslims are prohibited from entering the holy city. The city is considered a sacred space in Islam, and its inaccessibility to non-Muslims is a rule enforced by the Saudi government. Is the Vatican not considered a Holy place for Christians???
