Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker, a billionaire, took home $1.4 million in winnings after playing blackjack at a casino in Las Vegas last year, according to a copy of his new tax filing.
Pritzker, who is seeking a third term in office and is on the 2028 short list, reported the earnings in his latest tax filing after he played the card game while on a vacation with his wife and some friends, a Pritzker spokesperson said Thursday.
The governor will be donating the money to charity, according to his campaign.

Sounds like my boss of long ago winning hundreds of thousands, repeatedly, on the state lottery. He was buddies with the governor.

Which casino? And who witnessed the windfall? Much more likely, Pritzker received a payoff from the mob.

" The governor will be donating the money to charity."...but only NOW after the news came out...He has been using that money for a YEAR already. Did he already pay the TAXES on it? Will he take a Tax Deduction for the "Charitable gift"? Did the casino where he "Won" have any business dealings in Illinois before or since this windfall?

And I'm sure the charity that gets the loot will be some derivative of the "J B Prtizker Family Foundation" and used to fund the radicals attacking federal officials throughout his state and other states.

First timers' charm right outta the gate, or has he honed his skills over the years (with a paper trail) and become a very astute player? Cattle futures, golden timing on stock trades, lottery, casinos - damn but dems are a lucky bunch.

Of all the games at the casino, blackjack, played correctly, has the best odds for a skilled player, slightly below 50%. Card counters, not welcome at many casinos, improve their chances of success to above 50%. Pritzker is certain to be a high roller, betting thousands or tens of thousands a hand. Maybe more than that. If you bet a lot, you can win a lot on a good day. The best gamblers know when to leave. Did JB have some under the table help? The Shadow knows.

Much smarter than Senator Bob "Gold Bar" Menendez.
Get handed the chips, pay your taxes, claim you're a winner.

That wasn't the worst of it for the Casino. He then went to the free buffet and ate another $1.6 million in food.

Did Pritzker actually win $1.4M, or was this campaign contributions laundered to him?

I would like to see the names of the charities please. I know he is wealthy and maybe this is true or maybe it's just the campaign blowing smoke up our a***s.

Just like Hitlery's cattle Futures BS, it was a fat payoff of a BRIBE, likely the same with Pritzker!

His being a governor, a casino would be reluctant to throw him out if they thought he was counting cards. And as rich as he is, the casino would have to waive their table limits if he wanted to make huge bets, and if he didn't place huge bets, how did he win 1.4m dollars? A long time ago Bill Bennet got canceled when it was discovered that he was a Las Vegas whale. But of course, he was a Republican and Pritzker is a Democrat. Different rules.

I imagine the rich must bet a lot of money to make the effort enjoyable. Only gamble what you can afford to lose.

Was that casino owned by the Chicago mob? Of course he is going to give it all to charities. Like Operation Push, Sharpton's Action Network, The Southern Poverty Law Center?
