Teachers union faces backlash after sending
out email with map omitting Israel

The National Education Association (NEA), which represents millions of U.S. educators, sent an email to its approximately 3 million members with a map omitting Israel and labeling the territory as “Palestine.” The email was described as a resource packet for teaching about indigenous peoples, but critics argue it was promoting not recognizing Israel. The North American Values Institute (NAVI) called the inclusion of the map in the NEA email “an inexcusable lapse,” arguing the union must be held accountable for disseminating content that rationalizes anti-Israel sentiment. The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) also condemned the action, saying it crosses from careless oversight

Comments:

Simple oversight- yeah, right. There has never been a country named Palestine.

Funny how the leftists who are always whining about 'occupation' and 'colonialism' insist on using the Roman name for the region. The term ''Palestine'' came from the Roman Emperor Hadrian combining Galilee, Judea, and Paralia into the Province of 'Syria-Palestina' following the defeat of the Jewish revolt in the 2nd Century AD.

Government unions ought to be illegal once again. JFK's executive order legalizing unions in the civil service should be countermanded immediately. With no apologies, hasten to banish the NEA and the AFT. They're no good. And, as enemies of Israel, they're enemies of the Lord, and they are cursed (Genesis 12:2-3). Only private sector unions should exist.

“It has come to our attention that an external resource that was linked to on NEA’s website... falls well short of our standards,” So no one at the NEA audits their contributors nor edits publications prior to release ? Incompetent or untrustworthy. I'll wager on the latter.

The only solution - - and I've been harping on this for decades - - the only solution is to get government completely out of education. Not a single penny for government ownership or subsidizing any educational institution. Anyone who wants a formal education - - for themselves, their family, their children - - should pony up - - and pay for it out of their own pockets. That will bring the communization of education to a screeching halt. Get government out of education - - completely and now!

This is no surprise. Public education has been attempting to change history and geography for years. Why does this sham organization still exist? State teachers' unions need to go as well. Anything with "public" in its name should not be permitted union membership, including the feds. If you need the warmth and security of a union, work in the private sector and stay away from our children.

Why is the union even sending resource packets to teachers? This in itself should be illegal.

Katie Porter’s “unhappy experience” in a viral interview has become the news cycle from hell. The bipartisan pile-on following the widely-circulated clip of her contentious sit-down with a local CBS news reporter was only hours old when a new video surfaced from POLITICO of the former House member berating a staffer in 2021 — the two clips fueling long-simmering concerns about her temperament and judgment. Together, they suddenly boiled over into the broader political zeitgeist, raising questions about just how durable Porter’s lead in California’s gubernatorial race really is. “Is this a disaster? Yes,” said Gale Kaufman, a veteran Democrat

The 10-year cost of Dems’ current demand totals almost a half-trillion dollars, to benefit primarily insurers and wealthier Americans.
