Melania Trump is in her “Top Gun” era.
The first lady channeled Charlotte “Charlie” Blackwood while visiting Naval Station Norfolk in Norfolk, Va., on Sunday as part of a Salute to the Fleet celebration in honor of its 250th anniversary.
The 55-year-old donned a brown leather bomber jacket for this weekend’s event, which she paired with a collared white shirt and dark wash denim jeans. She completed her look with aviator shades and added a white baseball cap with “USA” embroidered across the front.
The look was reminiscent of Tom Cruise’s beloved “Top Gun” character US Navy aviator Lt. Pete “Maverick” Mitchell’s love interest, played by Kelly McGillis in the franchise.

Virginia’s Democratic attorney general nominee Jay Jones should drop out of the race “immediately,” President Donald Trump said Sunday, days after National Review reported a series of texts in which Jones fantasized about killing former Virginia House Speaker Todd Gilbert.
“It has just come out that the Radical Left Lunatic, Jay Jones, who is running against Jason Miyares, the GREAT Attorney General in Virginia, made SICK and DEMENTED jokes,” Trump said, referring to NR’s report on a 2o22 text exchange between Jones and his former colleague, Republican House Delegate Carrie Coyner.

It seems hardly a day goes by without some sort of attack or attempted attack, and not even houses of worship are excluded from the target lists of various wackos. On Sunday morning, a possible terror attack on Washington, D.C.'s St. Matthew's Cathedral was thwarted with the arrest of a man outside the cathedral. The man was in possession of what appeared to be fireworks and "vials of liquids."

Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Kristi Noem appeared on "Fox and Friends Weekend" on Sunday and revealed something pretty startling: Cartels and other terrorist organizations are now placing bounties on the heads of specific federal immigration agents.
In a move she called "dangerous and unprecedented," she said these groups are offering $2,000 for the capture of these agents or $10,000 for their murders. "Our intelligence indicates that these people are organized," she said, adding, "They're getting more and more people on their team as far as attacking officers, and they're making plans to ambush them and to kill them."

The Democrats have backed themselves into a corner again, and this time, it’s not just political theater—it’s a standoff with serious consequences. The Schumer Shutdown is dragging into its second week, and President Donald Trump is done waiting for Democrats to come around. The message from the White House is crystal clear: if the talks with Democrats “are absolutely going nowhere,” as National Economic Council Director Kevin Hassett put it, mass layoffs of federal workers are coming.
The shutdown began when Senate Democrats refused to support a short-term funding bill that would have kept government agencies running through November 21. Their justification?

In the movie “As Good As It Gets,” Jack Nicholson was asked how he writes female characters so well. His answer, hilariously, was, “I think of man, and then I take away reason and accountability.” That is exactly what it is like to talk with a Democrat. The problem comes in when they try to force everyone else to live in that world – normal people aren’t interested in pretending there’s no difference between boys and girls, as none of us would be here without that difference, and we’re big fans of that difference –

There was a time in America when political violence provoked near-universal horror and condemnation.
In 1981, President Ronald Reagan was a deeply polarizing figure — but when he was shot, his surgeon famously said, “Today, Mr. President, we are all Republicans.”
That principle is fading, as we saw last month after the murder of Charlie Kirk. In a Manhattan store, I overheard a customer discussing that news: “I agree he was evil, but I do not think he could’ve been shot by anyone more evil.”
“Trump will get worse now,” the cashier replied.
Their tone was casual, as if they were talking about the weather.

Remember the good old days when the FBI would hang out in the parking lots of Catholic churches where the traditional Latin Mass was celebrated? The Bureau claimed that such churches were a breeding ground for what the Biden administration called “domestic extremism” and offered plenty of scope for what the FBI called “mitigation opportunities.” Hence, they jotted down the license plate numbers of the parishioners who just got done reciting really dangerous things like “Sanguis Christi custodiat me in vitam aeternam.” “See? Among the arguments of those who seem to be pushing for expanded war with the Russian Federation, one of the strangest is that Russia is a weak, third-world country and a “paper tiger.” Those who make this argument point to the protracted three-year conflict in Ukraine and scoff at the Russians’ inability to subjugate a much weaker adversary. These same voices usually ignore America’s ten-year war in Iraq and twenty-year war in Afghanistan, even though both wars cost Americans much and accomplished far fewer strategic objectives than Americans were promised.

The term “October Surprise” describes an unexpected political disaster in the twilight hours of the campaign. Sometimes they are intentionally positioned by political opponents to impact voters, often days before they head to the polls. They aren’t always successful, but they’ve become a staple of modern politics.

In light of recent disclosures from Google and Meta adding to the existing evidence, Americans must confront a sobering question: Was the 2020 presidential election truly free and fair? Not merely in terms of ballot security, voter access, or “voter fraud,” but in the deeper democratic sense—where citizens are entitled to hear competing viewpoints, weigh evidence, and make informed decisions without interference or deception.

We don’t know how the government shutdown will end. We do know what its defining image in Washington will be: A computer-generated sombrero, plopped onto the heads of prominent Democrats, accompanied by an equally cartoonish Pancho Villa mustache.
The sombrero meme started with pro-Trump social media accounts and quickly jumped to the president himself, who shared an AI-generated video of Democratic leaders with House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries wearing the stereotypical costume.
Reporters in the Brady Room earlier this week were greeted by the meme on a loop; the vice president, addressing them on the shutdown, laughed at Democrats who were offended by the trope.
