Sunday on CNN’s “State of the Union,” Sen. Ruben Gallego (D-AZ) called Secretary of War Pete Hegseth a “laughing stock.”
Host Jake Tapper said, “You’re a veteran, so I would be remiss if I didn’t ask you what you thought of Secretary Hegseth and President Trump’s discussion before the generals at Quantico?”
Gallego said, “I think it’s absolutely ridiculous. It was number one — it politicizes more the military, which is what you don’t want to do. As someone who has sat in briefings of that nature, it really tells you what’s happening. You know, it’s definitely clear that the Secretary of Defense is trying to compensate for something.

A Build-A-Bear Workshop employee in Tukwila, Washington, allegedly refused to allow a 16-year-old girl to name her stuffed bear after slain conservative icon Charlie Kirk, crumpling up the commemorative birth certificate that comes with each teddy and tossing it in the trash.
Evi McCormick, 16, visited the Build-A-Bear store at Southcenter Mall with friends on Friday to create a special teddy bear in memory of Charlie Kirk, the founder of Turning Point USA, who was tragically assassinated on September 10 while speaking at Utah Valley University.
Kirk had inspired McCormick for years,

My Mom, a child of the Depression and a young adult during World War 2, even in the Reagan era, was not a fan of the legacy media, then, pretty much the only media. She didn't trust them too much, and she was fond of an (apocryphal) quote from WW2, from U.S. Navy Admiral William "Bull" Halsey, who, when asked by an aide what he should tell the press about an upcoming operation, replied, "Tell them nothing. When it's over, tell them who won."
That's how military communications should be carried out. There's a level of security that should be taken for granted, and that means, in certain cases,

On Friday, the Senate failed to reopen the government, as neither the Democratic nor the House GOP spending votes were able to clear the procedural 60-vote threshold. Democrats are dead-set, for now, in voting against the GOP’s clean seven-week continuing resolution, which has spending levels maintained at Biden-era levels, and with no Republican initiatives. Democrats supported everything funded in this CR before, (Snip) So, with the works still gummed up, the meme game has never been more elite. Since Democrats came to full froth over President Trump’s trolling of congressional Democrats with AI-generated videos of them donning sombreros, everyone is getting in on it.

In the movie “As Good As It Gets,” Jack Nicholson was asked how he writes female characters so well. His answer, hilariously, was, “I think of man, and then I take away reason and accountability.” That is exactly what it is like to talk with a Democrat. They honestly live on a different planet, which is fine. The problem comes in when they try to force everyone else to live in that world – normal people aren’t interested in pretending there’s no difference between boys and girls, as none of us would be here without that difference, and we’re big fans of that difference –

Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy fulfilled his promise to restore the historic “Christ on the Water” painting at the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy to the Elliot M. See Room of Wiley Hall.
Painted in 1944 by marine artist Lt. Hunter Wood, the 10-foot by 19-foot piece of artwork was prominently displayed for nearly 80 years before constitutional complaints made during the Biden administration led to its relocation in the “flood-prone basement of the Academy’s chapel,” the Transportation Department said.
“Burying this historic painting in the basement wasn’t just a mistake—it was an insult to the faith and legacy of service

Few social media sites are as big a swamp as Reddit.
Leftists use the platform to call for attacks on ICE facilities and agents, and the site is populated by lunatics who think January 6 is worse than 9/11 and the Holocaust.
They are driven by a deep hatred of President Trump and conservatism, which is why one Reddit user is upset that prices at Costco are coming down.
No, really. [Tweet]
The post reads:
"Costco is quietly slashing prices. This feels wrong.
I go to costco every week. it’s probably the only thing i do consistently. i’ve been doing it for years, i know how the prices move. lately? everything’s discounted.

A man who stabbed a Kentucky child to death in bed and then try to murder the boy’s family members has been released on parole after serving less than half of his sentence. Understandably, the dead boy’s family is horrified and terrified.
Ronald Exantus murdered six-year-old Logan Tipton by stabbing and slashing the boy repeatedly in the head with a kitchen knife. When Logan’s father Dean heard the boy’s screams and tried to rescue him, Exantus stabbed Dean, too, threw him ten or more feet, and stomped on his head. Exantus also wounded Logan’s sisters, per Fox56, and Dean was left helplessly to hold his dying son in his arms.

The Schumer Shutdown is dragging into the weekend, with neither side budging. Republicans pushed for a straightforward continuing resolution to keep the government funded through November, but Democrats chose to hold the line for their wish list of radical spending priorities—billions and billions of dollars’ worth—and in doing so, shut the government down. The media has focused on their demand for free health care for illegal immigrants, but that’s just the tip of the iceberg. There’s a lot more buried in this standoff that isn’t getting the attention it deserves.
Sen. John Kennedy (R-La.) took to the Senate floor this week and laid out, in his trademark blunt and hilarious fashion,

On the latest episode of Real Time with Bill Maher, the HBO host torched Kamala Harris’s newly released memoir 107 Days, calling it a self-pitying exercise in blame-shifting and delusion. Maher mocked both the tone and the premise of the book, which recounts Harris’s disastrous 2024 presidential campaign.
“Kamala Harris’s new memoir of the ‘24 election is called 107 Days,” Maher began, “but it should have been called Everyone Sucks But Me.” He added that 107 Days was “a victim’s title because, get it, she only had 107 days to win.” Then, with his trademark sarcasm, Maher reminded the audience that Harris hardly entered the race as an underdog.

I remember decades ago when I was in boot camp just outside San Diego. In the Marine Corps, boot camp was three months long. That is, unless you arrived overweight. If you arrived overweight, you weren’t assigned your permanent platoon. You were assigned a special platoon for “fat bodies,” as they were called. (Snip) Back then, we had the privilege to not suffer under the "leadership" of Milley or Austin or Vindman or Levine. Our leaders actually cared about us, and their priority was conditioning us to survive and win in battle, not a fifth trip to the buffet line.
