Dept of Homeland Security Deputy Secretary, Tricia McLaughlin, states that armed protesters confronted Customs and Border Patrol officials near the Broadview ICE facility today. This morning, during routine patrolling in Broadview, in the same area of Chicago that law enforcement were assaulted yesterday, our brave law enforcement officers were rammed by vehicles and boxed in by 10 cars. Agents were unable to move their vehicles and exited the car. One of the drivers who rammed the law enforcement vehicle was armed with a semi-automatic weapon.

It’s time for this to stop, it’s not going to end well, either Law Enforcement will end up getting hurt, or the Communists will be put down and the Media will have a field day. Take their pictures as well as their vehicles, then round them up and prosecute them for interfering with a Federal Officer.

I think DHS packs up their toys and goes home. Let the good citizens of Chicago, who apparently prefer to live in the Wild Wild West, take care of their own city. Businesses that remain can foot the cost of security, should they need it. And the devolution of society continues.

I'm seriously confused; are the agents not allowed to start shooting these maggots? Or are they figuring they're not in any danger? Being boxed in by 10 cars, unable to move seems to me to be a pretty serious situation to be in. At this point, the people doing this against law enforcement has no fear whatsoever. This has to change.

We haven't even heard that the apparently wounded antifa shooter was arrested after going to the hospital for treatment. Did the hospital report the gunshot wound, as required by law? Or did they cover up for the antifa thug? ICE needs to have the ability to just ram through or over any sort of blockade like this. And the car owners should be in jail, too.

The problem with letting Chicago take care of its own problem is this: The people attacking aren't confined to Chicago. No, the ONLY solution is to arrest these people and hold them accountable for their crimes.

Her Grace Chelsea Clinton — Queen of the Nepo-Babies, Heir to the Neoliberal Throne — has announced a brand-new podcast in which she resurrects the long-discredited “fact-check” scam in order to counter MAHA “misinformation.” (Chelsea’s new podcast coincidentally happens to be the exact same in mission and scope as her failed previous podcast, “In Fact with Chelsea Clinton,” which lasted less than a year.) Aside from (mis)informing listeners about all manner of health issues, the stated goal of the podcast is to help stand up an army of liberal talking-point robots programmed to “debunk misinformation over coffee, cocktails or wherever it might come up.”

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (AP) — Iran executed six death-row inmates Saturday it alleged carried out attacks in the country’s oil-rich southwest on behalf of Israel, the latest prisoners to be put to death in a wave of executions believed to be the highest in decades. The executions follow the 12-day Iran-Israel war in June, which ended with Tehran vowing it would target its enemies at home and abroad. However, activists warn Iran often relies on coerced confessions and closed-door trials in its death penalty cases, particularly those involving Israel.

On Twitter, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer tweeted, "Let me be perfectly clear: Undocumented people CANNOT AND WILL NOT receive ACA premium tax credits BY LAW. PERIOD. This is a LIE from Republicans to divert attention from their shutdown. Republicans are refusing to lower healthcare costs for the American people." The capitalization was his. It is a talking point to distract from the truth. CNN's Jake Tapper pointed out to House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, "What you support does bring back funding for emergency Medicaid to hospitals, some of which does pay for undocumented immigrants and people who don't have health insurance.

A while back, I argued that we need to make Republicans afraid again. Afraid for their jobs. In light of recent events, that's probably not the best wording possible, but the sentiment still holds. There aren't really many pro-gun Democrats holding office these days, so we have to count on Republicans exclusively to hold the line. That's less than ideal because, like any other political party, almost no one is in complete lockstep with their party on every single issue. For some of them, they're open to at least some gun control.

Jones, who at the time had recently resigned from the state house after a brief stint representing Norfolk, had strong feelings about how the political class was eulogizing recently deceased former state legislator Joe Johnson Jr., a moderate Democrat with a long tenure in Virginia politics. Republican legislators like House Speaker Todd Gilbert had begun making public statements honoring Johnson’s memory and political legacy, and some of those statements were making the rounds in state legislative group chats. Around 8 a.m., Jones shared those feelings with his former state legislative colleague, Republican House Delegate Carrie Coyner. In a series of text messages obtained by National Review,

Although it appeared, as this article went to print, that Hamas would not accept President Trump’s historic 20-point Gaza Peace Plan without substantial changes, the beauty of this plan is that it may bring peace to the Middle East and initiate a process to rebuild Gaza, regardless of what Hamas decides. This is because, due to President Trump’s leadership, Arab states, the Palestinian Authority, and Israel support this plan; the war will soon end, and a process to rebuild and secure Gaza will proceed, even if Hamas rejects the plan. Egypt, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Qatar support the 20-point plan. Even the Palestinian Authority (PA),

Pope Leo XIV continues to make thinly veiled jibes against the Trump administration’s stance against illegal immigration. Speaking in front of thousands of pilgrims at St. Peter’s Square on Sunday, Leo warned that migrants must not be treated with “the coldness of indifference or the stigma of discrimination.” Without singling out any country in particular, Leo said that Catholics should “open our arms and hearts to them, welcoming them as brothers and sisters, and being for them a presence of consolation and hope.” Leo explained that the church was living through a “new missionary age” that tasked its members with providing “hospitality and welcome, compassion and solidarity” to migrants coming to the West.

The Democrats have backed themselves into a corner again, and this time, it’s not just political theater—it’s a standoff with serious consequences. The Schumer Shutdown is dragging into its second week, and President Donald Trump is done waiting for Democrats to come around. The message from the White House is crystal clear: if the talks with Democrats “are absolutely going nowhere,” as National Economic Council Director Kevin Hassett put it, mass layoffs of federal workers are coming. The shutdown began when Senate Democrats refused to support a short-term funding bill that would have kept government agencies running through November 21. Their justification?

A food aid program that helps more than 6 million low-income mothers and young children will run out of federal money within two weeks unless the government shutdown ends, forcing states to use their own money to keep it afloat or risk it shutting down, experts say. The $8 billion Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children, also known as WIC, provides vouchers to buy infant formula as well as fresh fruits and vegetables, low-fat milk and other healthy staples that are often out of financial reach for low-income households. The shutdown, which began Wednesday, coincided with the beginning of a new fiscal year, meaning programs like WIC,

California and Oregon sought the temporary restraining order after the president sent guard members from California to Oregon earlier in the day.
