A federal judge in Oregon temporarily blocked the Trump administration’s plan to deploy hundreds of National Guard troops to Portland — the same day federal agents unleashed tear gas and mace on anti-ICE agitators after more than 100 straight days of unrest.
US District Judge Karin Immergut, a Trump nominee, ruled Saturday that deploying active-duty troops to secure the “war ravaged” Oregon city would violate the US Constitution and federal law barring military involvement in domestic law enforcement.
“The relationship between the federal government and the states, between the military and domestic law enforcement, and the balance of powers between the executive,

Why can't `President Trump use our massive Federal Police agencies--the FBI, Marshal Service, and ATF have swat teams for this kind of stuff. They're better trained. They get full salaries. They have intelligence on such situations that soldiers aren't privy to. They can use plain clothes operatives and informants. They can keep a lower profile and handle the media.
The National Guardsmen have none of these advantages. In the past they weren't even issued ammunition and wound up as little more than meat shields for the cops.
The dems are peddling the narrative of "fascist invading cohorts seizing control of civilian institutions etc," and they'll pound that narrative as the networks collect pictures and film they can edit to turn public sentiment. Formations of soldiers make perfect fodder.
Odds are increasing daily that somebody will get killed. It shouldn't be a Guardsman.

There is something askew when "citizens" of blue cities are masked, armed, and are committing mayhem and anarchy -- and the law cannot stop it? Really? Who armed them? Who is paying them? OPEN LETTER TO PAM BONDI and CASH/BONGINO: follow the money trail, then indict.

Excellent points, #2. I think it's probably that those other Fed agencies already have assigned cases and can't spare hundreds of people on short notice. The National Guard basically plays basketball on their duty weekends so were available quickly. The number of cities on Trump's list will probably require thousands before the crime cleanup is accomplished.

No national guard in Portland. Ok, then when the next natural disaster strikes, no troops for you.

Enough already - let Portland burn to the ground. If the good citizens (I’m sure there some) won’t fight Antifa and other terrorists let them live in the chaos.

What will this Judge claim if one or more Federal Immigration Enforcement or Border Patrol Agents or their close family members are killed (murdered) by the Antifa anarchists who may well be financed by leftist, progressive, and socialist organizations and by the international criminal drug cartels?

The Supreme Court has already held the National Guard was legally dispatched to Los Angeles. No matter, apparently. District court judges will be doing this in every city the guard is deployed.

In Los Angeles the NG was there to protect federal buuildings, which rioters were targeting. They were not engaged in detainment or making arrests.

So, if dems ever! get back in power and the right protests their real tyranny, will any of these same judges bother to boss around a dem president? They won't. President Trump has been winning these cases, but I just wish he'd tell these rogue judges, "Make me!" just one time.
Part of the problem is Kristi and Pami are too soft on them and too slow to administer justice, and law enforcement are at risk. I see the cops telling the crazies over and over again to do something or they issue some threat, but the crazies keep showing up and disrupting lawful work. I don't know how many times I've heard cops say, "Get off the street, you are disrupting traffic. Disband or go home, or you will be arrested." Only to arrest no one. I heard one freakazoid tell law enforcement that they are supposed to protect them, the crazies (rioters), but they were defending ICE (legal) instead. I thought they hate the po-lice. Another freakazoid told the officers they were next. All this was said at the same riot. Kristi and Pami need to bring this to an end.

She is far too stupid to be a judge. A simple memo pointing out that ANTIFA is now a terrorist organization, subject to whatever the Federal military or law enforcement groups want to do to them, should clear things up for her, and the mayor, and the governor, and any other rat or RINO on the planet.

Just a technicality but those troops are already in Portland and Trump as President has the power to activate the state's National Guard.

You got to remember that the Federal District Judges reside in the leftist Democrat run cities and communities where they are issuing their rulings and certainly do not want to get crossways with local and state Democrat politicians with who they are used to be associating and hobnobbing with on a social basis. That’s why their legally suspect rulings are, thereafter are being overturned by the Federal Circuit Courts and the US Supreme Court.

The troops are there to protect federal property and federal employees.
If they go beyond that, then they are exceeding their authority. If not, it is legal.
