Fulton County Superior Court Judge Scott McAfee on Friday gave the Prosecuting Attorneys’ Council just 14 days to assign a new prosecutor to Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis' 2020 Georgia election interference case or the case will be dismissed. McAfee said he would dismiss the case against all the defendants, which includes President Donald Trump and Rudy Giuliani, if a new prosecutor was not named or an extension request was granted.

Hah!
Dismissal of charges would be hilarious. Will Fanny's fanny still be in trouble?

Scott McAfee can make a case that should never have been heard go on for decades, and then not resolved. The man can rescue a humiliating loss for Fani, and keep the case alive forever.

Would those who were forced to take a plea deal have their names cleared?

Even if a new prosecutor takes the case, that person can chose to drop all charges if they think the charges are political. I believe the powers that be will simply let the two weeks go by with no action on their part, so this mess simply goes away and Fani is the fall guy.

It's not called the Empire State of the South for nothing. Appears 'Judge' McAfee wants to prove that the GA judicial system in GA is just as court at the one in NY. this case should have never been brought. It's a travesty that the judicial system has allowed these bogus charges to be brought and continued.

They also need to revue the libel suit ,award settlement, and the charector asassination of Rudy Giuliani. Both are a travesty of justice. The Deep South still has it's lynch mob jurists and crooked partisan courts.

That should have happened when this whole thing started.

"McAfee said he would dismiss the case with prejudice if his deadline is not met, which leaves the door open for the charges to be refiled in the future."
Umm...wrong. If the case is dismissed WITH prejudice case CANNOT be refiled.
Sheesh.

The iconic lakerman has returned, having been blocked by mysterious internet forces for two years!
In this case, the cleanest way out of it for Georgia is to allow the cases to disappear in 14 days, reverse the plea deals, and expect to be sued by Trump and others, for lots of Georgia dollars.

According to the article, the judge will dismiss the case WITH PREDJUDICE if the Georgia Prosecutors Council has someone file the papers with his court (no further refiling of charges). If nothing happens in 14 days, he will dismiss the case WITHOUT PREDJUDICE which would allow the charges to be resurrected at a later date.
Simple answer. The Governor or the Georgia Prosecutors Council assigns an attorney to the case, the attorney draws up the paperwork to dismiss the case with predjudice and files it with the court. No doubt some of the defendants' attorneys would be willing to assist that attorney in drawing up the necessary documentation. Maybe within a day or two.

Who would be stupid enough to take on Donald Trump at this point? Besides, it's not a winnable case.

bingo #8. we are praying for rudy. what they have done to him deserves eternal hellfire-w/. big fanny.
many here believe kemp is a trump hater who couldn't get to pdt, so he picked a scairdie- cat judge,
to torture rudy--for revenge.
kemp could well be a cryptomrxst who loves playing the big man- by stealing from others--
to appease the lowlifes who do his bidding.
they should all lose their law licences, their jobs, their liberty.
they owe full restitution to an honourable man.
