A member of the Bush family has all but officially announced his intention to run for governor in Maine. Jonathan Bush has been a healthcare entrepreneur for over two decades, and now looks poised to enter the 2026 race as soon as next week. He has been formally exploring a run since July and his cousins, former President George W. Bush and former Florida Governor Jeb Bush, headlined an August fundraiser for him at the family compound in Kennebunkport, the Bangor Daily News reported.

For anyone who cares, here's all you need to know FTA about another not helpful Bush: "Bush, assuming he runs as a Republican, is not likely to align himself with the MAGA movement, as he has called President Donald Trump 'personally troubled'. And in December 2023, he donated $50,000 to a super PAC that was in support of Nikki Haley, Trump's main rival in the 2024 Republican primaries. He has not given much to Maine politicians but has supported Senator Susan Collins, a moderate Republican who voted against Trump's Big Beautiful Bill."

Will he run as a democrat or a RINO? Maine voters sure make very bad choices--we should give that state to Canada since the Western provinces have started to secede from Ottawa.

Without having to delve too deeply into Jonathan Bush's doings over the last 20 years, I suspect he's just another useless Rino who will do more harm than good. . .even in Collins-infested Maine. But it's really worse than that. Anyone who has paid attention to the Bush clan probably realizes a governorship for Jonny now will likely translate to a presidential run later. Oh yeah, that's all we need. Who knows, if Jonny makes it to the Oval Office he can give us the next Supreme Court Chief Justice a la John Roberts!

Jonathan Bush has smeared President Trump as "personally troubled" and praised the notorious current Democrat governor of Maine for allegedly rejecting her Party's extremism. In fact Janet Mills is a hard-core advocate for transgenderism and illegal aliens and her State is reportedly overrun with illegal marijuana grows operated by Chinese organized crime. No wonder Bush has yet to declare his actual party affiliation.

FTA: “If Bush were to win next year, he would be putting his family back in the spotlight after a very quiet decade.” One quiet decade is not nearly enough. The final insult —- Jonathan Bush is a wife beater.

Now that Heb! and his son George P. have flamed out, the family has to go to cousins (and the mostly leftist state of Maine) to try to position themselves for the post-Trump era that starts in 2028. With most Republicans tired of the mealy-mouthed Bushes and their RINO enablers, I'm optimistic this effort will flame out.

Melania Trump is in her “Top Gun” era. The first lady channeled Charlotte “Charlie” Blackwood while visiting Naval Station Norfolk in Norfolk, Va., on Sunday as part of a Salute to the Fleet celebration in honor of its 250th anniversary. The 55-year-old donned a brown leather bomber jacket for this weekend’s event, which she paired with a collared white shirt and dark wash denim jeans. She completed her look with aviator shades and added a white baseball cap with “USA” embroidered across the front. The look was reminiscent of Tom Cruise’s beloved “Top Gun” character US Navy aviator Lt. Pete “Maverick” Mitchell’s love interest, played by Kelly McGillis in the franchise.

The off-year governor’s election in purple Virginia is almost always a win for the party that doesn’t hold the White House, but this year the race is showing how much Democrats have refused to learn their lessons from their massive culture-war losses of 2024. The battle in the Old Dominion has all the hallmarks of Democrats’ White House defeat in November. An uninspiring political-insider candidate, hand-picked by the party establishment, is running a campaign that relies on hype from friendly media. She’s dodging questions about hot-button cultural issues — including trans athletes in school sports and men in girls’ dressing rooms — and betting she can coast to victory on resistance-fueled backlash

Congress is not going to allow Big Auto to sideline consumer privacy and safety while getting subsidized massively by the federal government. That is because, in late September, by an overwhelming vote of 50 to 1, Chairman Brett Guthrie’s (R-KY) House Energy & Commerce Committee joined the Senate Commerce, Science, and Transportation Committee in passing the AM Radio for Every Vehicle Act. This legislation is in response to some automakers removing AM radios from new model vehicles despite pleas from America’s public safety community not to do so. Advisors to President Trump have argued they continue doing so for financial reasons — because they want to force increased traffic onto their infotainment systems,

Republican Louisiana Sen. John Kennedy took to the Senate floor Friday and laid out a list of projects he said Democrats are insisting be restored before they agree to reopen the federal government. Senate Democrats blocked a bipartisan stopgap funding bill on Friday, leaving the shutdown to drag into next week after only three crossed the aisle in support. Kennedy accused Democrats of holding the government hostage to restore what he described as millions in wasteful foreign projects and said lawmakers had already stripped the provisions from the budget, only to see the party’s left flank threaten to keep the shutdown going unless the money is put back in.

A federal judge in Oregon temporarily blocked the Trump administration’s plan to deploy hundreds of National Guard troops to Portland — the same day federal agents unleashed tear gas and mace on anti-ICE agitators after more than 100 straight days of unrest. US District Judge Karin Immergut, a Trump nominee, ruled Saturday that deploying active-duty troops to secure the “war ravaged” Oregon city would violate the US Constitution and federal law barring military involvement in domestic law enforcement. “The relationship between the federal government and the states, between the military and domestic law enforcement, and the balance of powers between the executive,

The Democrats have backed themselves into a corner again, and this time, it’s not just political theater—it’s a standoff with serious consequences. The Schumer Shutdown is dragging into its second week, and President Donald Trump is done waiting for Democrats to come around. The message from the White House is crystal clear: if the talks with Democrats “are absolutely going nowhere,” as National Economic Council Director Kevin Hassett put it, mass layoffs of federal workers are coming. The shutdown began when Senate Democrats refused to support a short-term funding bill that would have kept government agencies running through November 21. Their justification?

Among the arguments of those who seem to be pushing for expanded war with the Russian Federation, one of the strangest is that Russia is a weak, third-world country and a “paper tiger.” Those who make this argument point to the protracted three-year conflict in Ukraine and scoff at the Russians’ inability to subjugate a much weaker adversary. These same voices usually ignore America’s ten-year war in Iraq and twenty-year war in Afghanistan, even though both wars cost Americans much and accomplished far fewer strategic objectives than Americans were promised. We don’t know how the government shutdown will end. We do know what its defining image in Washington will be: A computer-generated sombrero, plopped onto the heads of prominent Democrats, accompanied by an equally cartoonish Pancho Villa mustache. The sombrero meme started with pro-Trump social media accounts and quickly jumped to the president himself, who shared an AI-generated video of Democratic leaders with House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries wearing the stereotypical costume. Reporters in the Brady Room earlier this week were greeted by the meme on a loop; the vice president, addressing them on the shutdown, laughed at Democrats who were offended by the trope.
