Actress "Hanoi" Jane Fonda blew a gasket this week during an appearance on CNN, where she went off on Democrat Party leaders for being "not good enough" while she spewed the same tired "Trump is authoritarian" nonsense she and the other left-wing "evangelists" in Hollywoke keep pushing.
Fonda was promoting the relaunch of her Committee for the First Amendment. Hollywood liberals birthed the organization during the Cold War in the late 1940s to fight the blacklisting that arose during the McCarthy era. A liberal started a committee to allegedly promote the First Amendment even though someone on her side of the political divide -

Who said it: Kamala Harris, the inept career politician who failed upward into the office of vice president after a disastrous primary campaign,

He has been formally exploring a run since July and his cousins, former President George W. Bush and former Florida Governor Jeb Bush, headlined an August fundraiser for him at the family compound in Kennebunkport, the Bangor Daily News reported.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) have reportedly come under fire in Broadview, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago, from a woman identified only as a “U.S. citizen.” This comes after Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker and Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson have spent weeks ratcheting up the hysteria and purveying incendiary rhetoric about how President Donald Trump is a fascist and ICE agents are his storm troopers. Once again, the left’s rhetoric spills over into violence.[snip] “federal agents were rammed and boxed in by 10 cars in Broadview, Ill., where anti-U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) crowds have been gathering for days.”

Broadview officials and Police Chief Thomas Mills have gone on the attack against Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and claimed it is they, rather than the violent protesters surrounding the ICE facility, who are “endangering nearby village residents.”
On Wednesday, Mayor Katrina Thompson, Chief Mills, and Acting Fire Chief Matt Martin held a press conference to blast legal federal law enforcement actions around the Broadview facility.
“The relentless deployment of tear gas, pepper spray and mace at the ICE facility is endangering nearby village residents, harming police officers, harming firefighters and American citizens exercising their First Amendment rights,” Mayor Thompson claimed.

The Chinese-owned chain Luckin Coffee announced it was opening a its first location in the United States, to be located in Manhattan’s East Village between Broadway and East Eighth Street, in May of 2025. The decision was a stark challenge to the Trump administration’s fight on behalf of American-led businesses. Luckin pitches itself not as a purveyor of your morning cup of Joe, but as a “tech company” that just happens to own land and sell caffeinated beverages.
Lucking was not only aiming to break new ground, but to mount a comeback. The company began in China and quickly emerged as a formidable contender to Starbucks and other leading but imported

A woman in Newburgh, Maine, was stunned to discover 250 unused state election ballots inside an Amazon package she had ordered, which was supposed to contain coffee, rice, and paper plates. Republican Louisiana Sen. John Kennedy took to the Senate floor Friday and laid out a list of projects he said Democrats are insisting be restored before they agree to reopen the federal government.
Senate Democrats blocked a bipartisan stopgap funding bill on Friday, leaving the shutdown to drag into next week after only three crossed the aisle in support. Kennedy accused Democrats of holding the government hostage to restore what he described as millions in wasteful foreign projects and said lawmakers had already stripped the provisions from the budget, only to see the party’s left flank threaten to keep the shutdown going unless the money is put back in.

Nicholas Roske, the man who pleaded guilty to attempting to assassinate Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh, has been sentenced to 97 months in prison, a fraction of the 30 years the Justice Department was seeking.
Roske, who now identifies as a transgender woman and goes by the name “Sophie,” was arrested outside Kavanaugh’s home in June 2022 carrying a pistol and burglary tools. He pled guilty in April to attempting to assassinate Kavanaugh.
Judge Deborah Boardman, a Biden appointee, threw out most of the terrorism enhancement that would have resulted in a harsher sentence, opting to hand Roske a sentence of just over eight years, the length of time Roske’s attorneys requested.

Mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani has proposed New York City tax increases of $9 billion to pay for free childcare for children under the age of 6, free bus fare for all, and opening city-owned and run grocery stores. His tax increases would raise the top New York City personal income tax rate by a little over 5 percent and the top New York City corporate income tax rate by around 45 percent. If NYC implements the Mamdani-proposed tax increases, a wealthy NYC resident would face a total federal, state and city tax burden of a whopping 53.836 percent.

Some matters of substance did occur this week: there was a purported government shutdown, Secretary Hegseth lectured the brass, a Gaza flotilla was intercepted, Taylor Swift dropped a new album…OK, not a really big news week. But all of that paled compared with the video that President Trump posted of Hakeem Jeffries in a sombrero, with a mustache, while a mariachi band played. It was a psyop of the highest order, and the sequela were entertaining to say the least. The memesters couldn’t resist.
So here we go:
