Former Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro was sentenced on Thursday to 27 years and three months in prison, hours after being convicted by what can only be called a kangaroo court of plotting a coup to remain in power after losing the 2022 election. This was the second phase of a no-holds-barred attack on the mildly conservative Bolsonaro that began shortly after he took office in 2019.[snip] You'd think that would horrify most Americans, but then you wouldn't be an academic at a top-tier school or a Democrat senator.

Ed Markey. A lower level senator with lower middling brainpower. WHY Massachusetts has sent him to Washington for lo, these many, many years is one of the world’s great mysteries. Name something constructive he has accomplished. And do note his picture at the end of the article.

The Brazilian left followed the US Democrats playbook for getting Trump to get Bolsonaro. The Brazilians were successful, Democrats weren't. Luckily, the US court system isn't as corrupt (yet) as brazil's.

Wow ... Bolsonaro "... convicted in a horribly unfair proceeding in which the presiding judge was also the lead prosecutor." Sounds close to several cases against President Trump where the (democrat) judges already decided the outcome (never in favor of the President) even before it started.

The elderly rabble-rouser who allegedly hindered Utah authorities’ response after Charlie Kirk was fatally shot is now accused of keeping “graphic” sexual photos of children on his phone, according to law enforcement. George Zinn, 71, was charged with four counts of sexual exploitation of a minor Monday after investigators found more than 20 images of kids as young as 5 years old, at least partially naked and “posing” in a “sexual” way, the Utah County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release Tuesday. “Zinn admitted … that[snip] his preferred victim age is 5 to 12 years old,” the agency alleged.

This past week brought us a lot of troubling news. Not just the assassination of Turning Point USA co-founder Charlie Kirk, but the disturbing reaction to it by some on the left, cheering his death. How could anyone be so evil? However, some liberals did get how troubling this kind of thought pattern is. Bill Maher, for example, condemned that kind of thinking, specifically calling out the demonizing rhetoric on the left of calling President Donald Trump "Hitler," and saying that can make it easier to justify things like assassination.

We're still figuring out all the implications of Charlie Kirk's assassination. One of the key people who will be left to pick up the pieces - aside from Mrs. Kirk, who has the toughest row to hoe of all - is Charlie's friend and partner, Jack Posobiec. In an interview with CNN's Meena Duerson on the feature "Outfront," Mr. Posobiec spoke on a number of things that Turning Point USA will be going through - and the state of the country following Charlie's murder.[snip] there's no question that we're clearly facing asymmetric civil warfare. One of the key aspects of that is political assassinations.

Democratic-led states including New York and New Jersey have refused to lower flags to half-staff this week in honor of slain conservative activist Charlie Kirk. The refusal is in defiance of a presidential proclamation issued by Donald Trumpordering the nationwide tribute following Kirk's killing. The directive was signed Wednesday and instructed US flags on all federal property to remain at half-staff until Sunday evening in recognition of what Trump called Kirk's service as 'a truly Great American Patriot.'

We've seen a lot of reactions from people on the left in response to the assassination of Turning Point USA co-founder Charlie Kirk. Many Democratic politicians condemned the killing in very similar terms. It was good they condemned it, although some of them, at least to me, felt like they were saying it because they thought they had to--after all the ginning up of anger that many of them have done against the right. One who broke that mold a bit and delivered a very emotional reaction was "The Young Turks" host, Cenk Uygur.

In the aftermath of the assassination of Charlie Kirk by a violently deranged and hate-filled leftist (yes, that is a confirmed fact), some on the hard Left have been publicly expressing justifications for, and even celebrations of, the murder. These ghouls do not represent America, nor do they represent America's center-left coalition writ large. Many politicians, public figures and private citizens on the 'progressive' end of the spectrum have prominently and unequivocally denounced the killing. This must be acknowledged and embraced with gratitude by all people of good will. The forces of decency must stand together against the cancer of political violence and twisted vigilantism.

Something fundamental shifted in Britain on September 13, 2025. In the heart of London, a sea of flags unfurled and hundreds of thousands...no, millions of ordinary men and women marched together for an idea: That Britain must remain Britain, that its borders must be defended, and that its culture, heritage, and people deserve respect. Or else. Naturally, the mainstream press dutifully downplayed the numbers, claiming “just” 110,000 to 150,000 attended. But I was there, and I can assure you that nobody who was there believes it. It was far larger, at least one million, but probably nearer three. And it did not appear out of nowhere.
