Gov. Gavin Newsom has commuted the sentence of a Northern California man who committed a shocking murder-for-hire when he was 18 years old, the governor’s office announced Friday. Arthur Battle, now 37, will soon be eligible for parole after spending his entire adult life behind bars. The unusual case made headlines in 2006 when a trip to a Hollywood Video near the Del Paso Country Club in Sacramento turned deadly. As 19-year-old Vardan Abramyan headed inside to rent a movie, his father, Norik Abramyan, 45, waited in their Kia. Gunshots rang out in the parking lot as multiple shooters fired

Comments:

The perp is only 37 years old so will get to cast lots of votes for Democrats when released.

The fact that he was given life without parole instead of the death penalty is compromise because there are people who don't agree with the death penalty. So now this guy who plotted to kill and has good behavior in prison should be afforded another compromise? He received it by not having the death penalty. Yet, these other people who conspired have to fulfill the life without parole? Gavin Newsom along with the Democrats/liberals have double standards. . .

By the way, I firmly believe people get the subject of "forgiveness" messed up. "Repent and turn to God's ways" is Jesus' message on forgiveness. Now it seems as if it has progressed to forgive and forget. . .

Chicago police will not help the National Guard with immigration enforcement or related activities such as conducting traffic stops and manning checkpoints, according to the order.
