Yesterday we learned that the Texas Democrats who fled the state to prevent a quorum and block a vote on redistricting were making plans to return home. Even though the article, from an ABC affiliate in Texas, didn't have a lot of detail it was pretty clear that the plan was to fold up their traveling tent and declare victory in some fashion. Today, NBC News has a more detailed follow-up story which goes into detail about the Texas Dems' exit strategy. Texas Democrats met late into the night Tuesday then again Wednesday, including breaking into smaller groups, to discuss their next steps and what their ultimate exit strategy

Seems to me that the Dems don't need an exit strategy. They are already on the way out no matter how they try to recover from their own boondoggles. I hope they enjoyed their little all-expense paid exercise in lunacy.

Dems are the party of useless gestures. They have fallen to the point where virtue signaling is deemed victory. They never had a chance of winning this vote. They decided to poop in their diapers and cry about it. They are pathetic.

Their "strategy" is whatever the next drama they can dream up is. They have no real sensible policies to help the American people, just whatever rediculous cause they think will keep them in power. that they are too blind to see they are out of touch with "most" legal American voters. Their party is in the toilet, I say flush em and be done!

They can have their ‘victory’. Republicans can get their five seats. Fair deal. They have already gerrymandered blue states to extreme. So any threat to do the same is empty.

Liberals love to break into groups and discuss. It’s a very academic approach to “solving problems.” Except that nothing ever gets solved. To liberals the act of discussing a problem IS the solving the problem. It also absolves the leader of taking responsibility of coming up with a solution, under the guise of it being a “group effort.” I’ve worked with and taken classes from too many of these nitwits.

FTA: "Texas Democrats who fled the state to break quorum and disrupt redistricting efforts COULD face felony bribery charges, Republican Governor Greg Abbott suggested in an interview with Fox News Digital..." There should be no "could" in the above statement. File the charges Governor Abbott! Quit messing around with these fools and make them pay. Nothing happened to clown Democrats when they pulled this garbage before, and that's why we are here now! Never underestimate a worthless, umbilicus gazing Dem's ability to waste everybody's time.

#6 - Alleluia, sister! I wouldn't want to count up all the useless hours spent in "training" when I worked for my county's socialist services. There is no topic that lefties won't dig up time and time again. They will also never give up on applying for grant money from "non-profits" that are awash in legacy money from long-dead old time lefties. Its a circle of self-satisfaction.

I hope they aren't expecting the Texas taxpayers to pick up their expenses. It would be only fitting if those wise acres had their salaries docked for unexcused absences.

fta: ...Texas House Democrats will issue our demands... they simply do not have enough numbers to demand anything. They have pulled this stunt many times in several biennial Sessions over the years, all ending in the same result, they LOSE. They are not in any way going to get their "demands" because Governor Abbott is going to call another Special Session right after the first 30-day one ends... this time, their defiance seems more idiotic and shameful, especially since Attorney General Paxton has connected the dots to Beavis O'Dork and is building a case against him over it. There is no "victory" in this action. It would be fitting for the State of Texas to take financial and punitive action for vacating their responsibilities and costing the State over a Miillion dollars for their part in a wasted Special Session.

Attorney General Pam Bondi warned that California will lose federal funding unless Gov. Gavin Newsom (D-CA) ends the state’s sanctuary city policies. Bondi revealed in a post on X that the Department of Justice (DOJ) had “delivered demand letters” to sanctuary cities, counties, and states throughout the nation as part of an effort to “eradicate sanctuary policies” from California. In her post, Bondi included a letter addressed to Newsom. In the letter to Newsom, Bondi explained that President Donald Trump had “directed” Bondi, in coordination with Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Kristi Noem to “identify sanctuary jurisdictions and notify them

A U.S. district court decided on Wednesday to strike down a 2017 federal regulation that exempted religious employers from the Affordable Care Act’s mandate for employer-sponsored health insurance to cover the cost of contraception. If the ruling holds, religious non-profit organizations such as the Little Sisters of the Poor, the defendants in the case, may now be required to file for an accommodation process with the government that still maintains employees’ access to contraception without the religious organization having to pay. For-profit employers would have access to no religious exemption from the mandate whatsoever.

A city-run grocery store in Kansas City that was propped up by more than $18 million taxpayer dollars has closed. Sun Fresh Market opened in 2018 in the city-owned Linwood Shopping Center. Part of a Community Improvement District, the shopping center received a multi-million-dollar renovation budget about a decade ago as part of the city’s sprawling revitalization efforts on the east side. But after months of bare shelves, severe crime problems that Kansas City has spent additional money to curb, and what one reporter described as a “rancid odor” connected to improper drain maintenance, Sun Fresh has shut its doors.

CBS’s announcement that it was canceling Stephen Colbert’s “Late Show”—after bleeding between $40 million and $50 million annually—should have been a wake-up call for the late-night industry. NBC, to its credit, seems to be catching on that alienating half the country is a losing formula, and that booking guests who appeal to both the left and right might actually draw viewers back. That lesson became crystal clear last Thursday night, when Greg Gutfeld walked into Studio 6B at Rockefeller Center and pulled off something NBC executives can’t ignore. The Fox News host delivered Jimmy Fallon’s highest-rated “Tonight Show” episode of 2025, drawing 1.7 million viewers

As predicted, the Texas Democrat legislators who fled to blue states to deny a quorum for redistricting have folded. Still, I'm not sure anyone expected them to fold this soon. According to ABC News, the runaways who claimed to be saving "democracy" are heading back to their home state early, claiming to have accomplished their goal of raising "awareness" about gerrymandering. That's a very polite way of saying they failed miserably. ABC13 has confirmed with multiple sources that House Democrats will return to Texas. Eyewitness News has not confirmed the date, but we do know that Democrats believe they've accomplished their mission by killing

Can you imagine what a victory it would be for all Americans if, merely through his successful leadership, President Trump were able to get the basement-rated Jimmy Kimmel to self-deport? We already have a partial victory based solely on the fact that the Late Night elitist is putting the pieces in place to make it happen. Former comedian Jimmy Kimmel was a guest on former comedienne Sarah Silverman’s podcast on Friday, and the two of them discussed fleeing the country due to Trump. “A lot of people I know are thinking about where are they going to get citizenship?” Silverman said. Kimmel then broke this glorious news: “I did get Italian citizenship.”

It's pretty generally acknowledged at this point that President Trump won the 2024 election with help from a lot of working-class voters who'd previously cast votes for Joe Biden. The Democratic theory about how they could return to power was that Democrats would drive Trump's numbers down with constant criticism and soon enough those voters would see the error of their ways and return to the Democrats. In short, Democrats were counting on a backlash to save them. But so far it's not happening. Trump's numbers have gone down but Democrats numbers haven't really gone up. The voters who left the party don't see a good reason to go back.

Inflation increased in July and moved further away from the Federal Reserve's target rate as central bank policymakers assess the health of the economy amid the president's calls for interest rate cuts. The Bureau of Labor Statistics on Tuesday said that the consumer price index (CPI) – a broad measure of how much everyday goods like gasoline, groceries and rent cost – rose 0.2% in July compared with last month, while it was up 2.7% from a year ago. The monthly figure was in line with the estimate of economists polled by LSEG, while headline was slightly cooler than the 2.8% expected.

By all accounts, even those of liberal media outlets, the Democratic National Committee is broke. Under the leadership of chairman Ken Martin, the DNC is facing a full-blown financial crisis. But how did it come to this? Well, donor flight is one part of the answer. Since President Trump and J.D. Vance took office in a historic victory, the DNC's once-reliable donor class has slammed the brakes on contributions. But the bigger story, and one the mainstream press won't touch, is that a critical pipeline of cash has been shut off: the massive taxpayer-funded slush fund known as USAID.
