Colbert Is Gonna Flip Out Over the Ratings
for Gutfeld’s 'Tonight Show’ Appearance

CBS’s announcement that it was canceling Stephen Colbert’s “Late Show”—after bleeding between $40 million and $50 million annually—should have been a wake-up call for the late-night industry. NBC, to its credit, seems to be catching on that alienating half the country is a losing formula, and that booking guests who appeal to both the left and right might actually draw viewers back. That lesson became crystal clear last Thursday night, when Greg Gutfeld walked into Studio 6B at Rockefeller Center and pulled off something NBC executives can’t ignore. The Fox News host delivered Jimmy Fallon’s highest-rated “Tonight Show” episode of 2025, drawing 1.7 million viewers

"it exposed the fundamental weakness of an industry that has forgotten its primary mission" This goes far beyond media. So many industries have decided that it is their DUTY to inject politics, Left or Right, into their products. When I buy a car, I want the best car I can get for my money. I want the features to work flawlessly, not to be handicapped somehow by political correctness. When I get electrical power delivered to my home, I want it reliable and plentiful, not to be shut down because it got dark or the wind stopped blowing, or the power grid crashed because of those things. I also don't want to be paying inflated prices to meet dubious political goals. I need good brakes on my car and airbags have proven to save lives. Cars shutting off at stop lights to save a cup of gas over a year's time are stupid. They cost money to implement and is just something else to break. It's great that Gutfeld is getting access to broader platforms. He doesn't have to pick a fight wherever he goes. Just his presence is a reminder that there are other voices and opinions out there. If it gives Colbert heartburn, that's just a perk.

Where was the money coming from to prop up a show losing $50 million/year? And now that Trump has blocked USAID from dishing out money for Leftist propaganda, suddenly Colbert is cancelled...

With sincere respect to those people who grouse and minimize the importance of the invitation to Gutfeld-- stop! That's minority party mentality. Fallon's producers are showing fear, if not respect for The Other! I think I know what Donald Trump would think -- "Winning."

Attorney General Pam Bondi warned that California will lose federal funding unless Gov. Gavin Newsom (D-CA) ends the state’s sanctuary city policies. Bondi revealed in a post on X that the Department of Justice (DOJ) had “delivered demand letters” to sanctuary cities, counties, and states throughout the nation as part of an effort to “eradicate sanctuary policies” from California. In her post, Bondi included a letter addressed to Newsom. In the letter to Newsom, Bondi explained that President Donald Trump had “directed” Bondi, in coordination with Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Kristi Noem to “identify sanctuary jurisdictions and notify them

A U.S. district court decided on Wednesday to strike down a 2017 federal regulation that exempted religious employers from the Affordable Care Act’s mandate for employer-sponsored health insurance to cover the cost of contraception. If the ruling holds, religious non-profit organizations such as the Little Sisters of the Poor, the defendants in the case, may now be required to file for an accommodation process with the government that still maintains employees’ access to contraception without the religious organization having to pay. For-profit employers would have access to no religious exemption from the mandate whatsoever.

Yesterday we learned that the Texas Democrats who fled the state to prevent a quorum and block a vote on redistricting were making plans to return home. Even though the article, from an ABC affiliate in Texas, didn't have a lot of detail it was pretty clear that the plan was to fold up their traveling tent and declare victory in some fashion. Today, NBC News has a more detailed follow-up story which goes into detail about the Texas Dems' exit strategy. Texas Democrats met late into the night Tuesday then again Wednesday, including breaking into smaller groups, to discuss their next steps and what their ultimate exit strategy

A city-run grocery store in Kansas City that was propped up by more than $18 million taxpayer dollars has closed. Sun Fresh Market opened in 2018 in the city-owned Linwood Shopping Center. Part of a Community Improvement District, the shopping center received a multi-million-dollar renovation budget about a decade ago as part of the city’s sprawling revitalization efforts on the east side. But after months of bare shelves, severe crime problems that Kansas City has spent additional money to curb, and what one reporter described as a “rancid odor” connected to improper drain maintenance, Sun Fresh has shut its doors.

As predicted, the Texas Democrat legislators who fled to blue states to deny a quorum for redistricting have folded. Still, I'm not sure anyone expected them to fold this soon. According to ABC News, the runaways who claimed to be saving "democracy" are heading back to their home state early, claiming to have accomplished their goal of raising "awareness" about gerrymandering. That's a very polite way of saying they failed miserably. ABC13 has confirmed with multiple sources that House Democrats will return to Texas. Eyewitness News has not confirmed the date, but we do know that Democrats believe they've accomplished their mission by killing
Getting Jimmy Kimmel to Self-Deport Might

Can you imagine what a victory it would be for all Americans if, merely through his successful leadership, President Trump were able to get the basement-rated Jimmy Kimmel to self-deport? We already have a partial victory based solely on the fact that the Late Night elitist is putting the pieces in place to make it happen. Former comedian Jimmy Kimmel was a guest on former comedienne Sarah Silverman’s podcast on Friday, and the two of them discussed fleeing the country due to Trump. “A lot of people I know are thinking about where are they going to get citizenship?” Silverman said. Kimmel then broke this glorious news: “I did get Italian citizenship.”

Is Moms for Liberty a "hate group" on the order of the KKK? The Massachusetts Municipal Police Training Committee thinks so. Not even the infamously anti-sanity NGO, the Southern Poverty Law Center, which never saw a conservative-leaning group it didn't despise, has gone so far as to label Moms for Liberty a hate group, although they do call them "extremist." When even the SPLC can't conjure up enough evidence to indict you as a hate group, your worst crime is loving puppies and kittens.

It's pretty generally acknowledged at this point that President Trump won the 2024 election with help from a lot of working-class voters who'd previously cast votes for Joe Biden. The Democratic theory about how they could return to power was that Democrats would drive Trump's numbers down with constant criticism and soon enough those voters would see the error of their ways and return to the Democrats. In short, Democrats were counting on a backlash to save them. But so far it's not happening. Trump's numbers have gone down but Democrats numbers haven't really gone up. The voters who left the party don't see a good reason to go back.

Inflation increased in July and moved further away from the Federal Reserve's target rate as central bank policymakers assess the health of the economy amid the president's calls for interest rate cuts. The Bureau of Labor Statistics on Tuesday said that the consumer price index (CPI) – a broad measure of how much everyday goods like gasoline, groceries and rent cost – rose 0.2% in July compared with last month, while it was up 2.7% from a year ago. The monthly figure was in line with the estimate of economists polled by LSEG, while headline was slightly cooler than the 2.8% expected.

Netanyahu rejected international allegations that, by denying the entry of aid into Gaza, the Israeli military has inflicted famine upon its population, turning attention toward Israeli hostages still being held by Hamas. “Despite Hamas’s obstacles, two million people
