Another round of car break-ins happened overnight Wednesday in Minneapolis, bringing the total number of vehicles damaged in the city to roughly 475 since July 14. At least 125 vehicle owners are dealing with broken windows after this latest round that occurred in parts of northeast and south Minneapolis. Neighbors near Northeast Main Street and 11th Avenue Northeast say seemingly every window was smashed, with dozens of vehicles hit. They also say thieves targeted the same area just three weeks ago. (Snip) Odor, a therapist who works with kids, says she'd like to see more programs that help young people.

I am constantly amazed at the utter lack of any awareness or sense of irony among the leftist denizens of blue cities/states. If you advocate for socialism/communism, then you should be prepared for this by owning nothing (or, as your 'working-class' philosopher once crooned, "Imagine no possessions?") and not complaining when those with less attempt to level the field.
How dare you own nice things and expect to keep them...?! You should be down with the struggle, comrade!
Enjoy your northern Utopia.

Have the police ever caught a thief that broke into a vehicle? No. They don't even come out.

What we need are more prisons and tougher sentences. Oh, and how about going after the parents of the younger thugs. Fact of the matter is the parent or parents have been total failures. And naturally all of these stories about crime come out of democratic run cities. Connect the dots and you will see the elephant in the room. Get it yet.

There is right and wrong. It is that simple. My yoga class was canceled so I guess I will go steal, vandalize and break things. No excuses. The community does not owe anyone a yoga class, tie dying workshop, learn to knit or any other workshop to stop feral behavior. First of all that is just hogwash nonsense. There are stupid ass TikTok challenges constanting being presented as "fun". My son and his wife both had their Kias seriously damaged. And my front door was destroyed because of kids running up and jumping on it. Both TikTok challenges. Don't tell me they are kids, brains not developed, so forgive them. If you asked a 5 year old if it is okay to break car windows or break down front doors they will you the correct answer. Jeanine Pirro and her no nonsense approach to these thugs is right on the mark. If they are illegals get them the hell out of here and if they are citizens time to build more Aligator Alcatraz facilities.

Was watching People's Court. Case was a car break-in. The car owner found who did it and tried to sue them for damages to the car. They lost. Why. Lack of evidence. You have to actually catch them in the act. If you don't have evidence showing the actual break-in, it's very hard to prove. Guessing our thieving class has learned that. Car break-ins are a 'preferred' crime that one can get away with.
There are plenty of uncivilized people out there. People have to be taught not to steal and it probably needs to be reinforced throughout their lives. People have to be taught to act civilized. Which of the Ten Commandments says 'Thow Shall Not Steal'? Oh! We can't say that in school.

Programs. Bah. They are all given to the most inept people to run and are designed to fail. They simply exist to placate those who complain too much.

Re #2, about 30-35 years ago, a coworker and I were at a business conference in Minneapolis, and arrived Saturday afternoon, for a conference which started Monday. We rented a canoe on Lake Calhoun and spent a pleasant Sunday afternoon canoing up under the bridge to the north, then across the next lake, and then into a larger lake beyond. We crossed that to the west, and eventually wound up in a pleasant 'canal' or low flowing river running behind expensive homes, under a cover of trees.
A really nice area.
I recently looked at a map.....they lake is no longer "Calhoun"....apparently too "white". Some unspellable and unpronounceable name has replaced it, I presume some sort of Indian name.
Leftists trash everything, always.

Do not leave anything worth stealing in your car and don't lock the doors.
A lot less damage.

Well, I don't know about that #18...... But one of the characters on "Amos and Andy" (1950s TV series) was named Calhoun, and he was definitely not "too white". :-)
(I don't know why that suddenly was dredged up from my deep subconcious, but it made it to the surface, somehow.)

I understand that most prisons maintain rigorous daily activity schedules for their inmates. Just the thing for sociopathic candy-ass minors.

I had some business in Minneapolis in late 1999. I was picked up at the airport and didn't have to drive, so I got to look around. I could still see the city made famous by the "Mary Tyler Moore" show when I was a kid. I doubt I'd recognize anything like that today. Same thing happened -- arguably in worse way -- to a place once called the "Rose City".... Portland, Oregon, where I lived in a suburb for a few years. I have pictures taken with a decent 35 mm SLR camera to prove how beautiful it was. Nobody would believe it was the same city today.

Less than 1 per hour. They can do better. Maybe more programs that help young people would boost the count.
Notice this isn't about stealing vehicles, it is about damaging them.
