The German economy is sinking far deeper into recession than previously thought. Recent revisions to the national accounts by the Federal Statistical Office paint a dramatic picture.
Quietly and without fanfare, the Federal Statistical Office released new data this week on Germany’s economic output. And, as expected, the figures were revised downward. Instead of shrinking by 0.2% in 2023 as initially reported, Germany’s GDP actually contracted by 0.9%. The outlook for 2024 has also worsened: a projected contraction of 0.5% instead of the previously assumed stagnation.
Three Years of Ongoing Recession
Anyone who still clung to the illusion of stability must now face reality.

"It reflects a profound lack of competence."
While the results might be interpreted this way, it is largely a matter of political choice. No matter what dem government says and the pain of the real results, the Left governs to meet it's true goals. While they may "say" that they are working toward a "better" result, they are not. They are putting their alternative goals ahead of economic stability. In fact, they accept that economic decline will be a cost of achieving their alternative goals.
In countries that still vote, they cannot, of course, cannot say that out loud.
Consider immigration in the US. Biden's team declared that illegal immigration, when they FINALLY were forced into admitting it was a problem, could not be stopped without major changes in law. Trump took office and the border was shut down in 2 months.
Now, the Biden administration is looked at as grossly incompetent. While that might have some validity, the far worse reality is that illegal immigration was a deliberate strategy to undermine the US with illegal voters for dems and secondarily to undermine the economic and cultural structure of the US. People who sneak across borders and have no experience with the benefits and responsibilities of a free, Constitutional based society have no idea what it requires to maintain it.
For the dems, who want to take control from the American People and hold it in a government controlled by their party, the outcome of uncontrolled illegal immigration was a tool to achieve what they really want.

Germany went “to war” with Russia… all part , I think, of globalists and anti-Trumpers to link Russia and Trump in the phony Russiagate madness. It’s total insanity… mass gaslit hysteria.

Germany's mistakes were multiple with each one seriously damaging on its own. Thirty-hour work weeks, one-month vacations. overpriced products, especially in the automotive industry. Joining the EU. Uncontrolled Muslim immigration to achieve cheap labor. The individual German citizen is still the skilled craftsman that he always was but with seriously incompetent leadership, that is not enough. As #1 says, bad politics will kill you.

FTA: 'Clinging to economic dirigisme is a fatal error. It reflects a profound lack of competence.' AH! 'dirigisme' a word closely related to 'dirigible'. The German Green Movement is akin to the 'Hindenburg'...a seemingly impressive creation; but at heart a giant gasbag, about to catch fire and plunge to the ground, with horrible casualties.

Remember when they laughed at Trump back during his first term? Maybe they should have listened instead of laughing.

All this economic destruction for the sake of a shaky theory of climate. With apology for idiosyncrasy, there are other explanations for climate change. I like my own, which is that planets naturally collect rings, and like so many others Earth has a ring system of its own, supported by lunar geological activity, and the ring comes and goes, driving climate epochs. I did not first suggest this, but it was rejected bc it absolutely depends on the moon beng active, which was not belieed. Today that consensus is dissolving. The Moon is active, this would inevitably create an Earth ring system, whcih would inevitably drive climate epochs, and God help Germany.

Outstanding article. Germany chose to shut down its energy sector, which drives economic progress. It was a knowable choice for disaster from the beginning. Now, Germany faces the U.S. refusing to continue subsidizing EU socialism by renegotiating trade, and declining to pay for EU defense any longer. It gets worse, as the U.S. will no longer subsidize their prescription drugs, now requiring drug makers to give U.S. citizens the same benefits they have been giving the rest of the world. Illegal immigration has destroyed any harmony or cohesion in EU society, which is now made up of factions with completely different ideology that will only lead to ruin.

And, they brought it all on… themselves. Along with the rest of Europe, they’re sliding into socialism - again.
