Los Angeles is being urged to abandon plans to host the 2028 Olympics lest the Democrat-run city give President Donald Trump something to “bolster his noxious legacy.”
Los Angeles Times columnist Gustavo Arellano whined about Trump’s policies, his accomplishments in office, and his agenda in a new column as plans take shape for the 2028 Summer Olympics to be held in the California city.
“It’s a shame that LA Times ‘columnists’ are so filled with Trump Derangement Syndrome that they would turn away such a unifying event as the Olympics, which are expected to generate $18 billion in economic activity,”

Please!
Send it somewhere in Texas or Florida, where we're not embarassed to show the American flag.

Gustavo’s taxes are not enough to support the illegals in LA! What a complete maroon!

Democrats want to stop Trump from doing anything good, because then he might get credit for doing good things. The more good things they can stop him from doing, the happier they are.

Ok with me. Some other city will welcome LA’s lost income from the games.

I would like to propose that Las Vegas and Salt Lake City jointly host the games. Just for the games, air carriers can work with the cities to formulate a high-frequency air shuttle service between the two cities. Lots of details to work out, but I believe the city and state leaders can do it. I have zero confidence in the city or state leaders in CA to do anything but run another LA games into the ground.

If we bail, it should be because of the disastrous conditions around L.A., or because of the shameful reporting in the L.A.Times.

A stopped clock is correct twice a day, a blind squirrel occasionally finds a nut, and a LA times columnist can trip and fall face first over an obvious fact -- LA cannot afford the Olympics (other than street takeovers, if they're declared an Olympic sport in time). 2028 Olympic is headed for a woke disaster. So cancel it!

The Olympics should bail on Los Angeles for so many reasons: rampant crime, lax law enforcement, woeful political leaders, etc., etc., etc.

Half right. But instead the Olympics should bail on LA.

Agree that the Olympics shouldn't be held in LA. Really......who knows what the "powers that be" have up their sleeves to do TO LA between now and 2028? There's more than enough time to make that city even worse of a h€!!hole than it currently is. Can the DEI hires ensure visitors will be safe? It has nothing to do with President Trump.
There are numerous other cities that can represent our country better than LA.

Ah, L.A. So THAT'S the excuse you're going to use for bailing.

From his bio:
"Arellano’s father Lorenzo Arellano came to the United States in 1968 hidden in the trunk of a Chevy. He would remain undocumented until a general amnesty was granted in 1986. Arellano’s mother dropped out of school and spent the next 30 years working at the Hunts-Wesson cannery in Anaheim."

I live in the city where the U.S. Olympic Committee is headquartered. I’m here to tell you: the Olympics are a bigger waste of time and money than any government agency can think of. What do they accomplish? Every four years, they get a bunch of American youth together to “compete” in useless sports. Some of these kids have been training for eight or ten years, at God knows what expense to their families, and at the expense of their education to do something useful in life, to compete in their chosen sport for: what? A medal? After one Olympics, most of them are finished competing. What did they accomplish?
The U.S. Olympic Committee is corrupt. Look at all the sex scandals involving young female athletes that have occurred under their noses. Who audits the USOC, and where does all that money go?
It’s time to seriously consider doing away with U.S. participation in this useless pageant.

LA is in dire need of money so they not give up this huge potential source of income. I would favor one of our better cities.

Just because the Olympics have been going on for 2500 years is no reason to keep doing it.

Here's the thing....If LA/California can afford the massive expense of building an Olympic city, they can help all those people who lost everything in the Bass/Newscum fires. Have they done it? No! They are, in fact, stealing the land to advance their Communist 'utopia'. Call me cynical, but I don't know why anyone would want a boondoggle like the Olympics anyway.

Unless bags of money changed hands, I remain mystified that LA was chosen for the 28 Olympics.
There are so many better choices out there.

Will LA even allow the carrying of the Olympic Torch considering the history of fires in the city?

This is taking TDS to an extreme. Hey Gustavo, does this have anything to do with your relatives have fear that they might be deported?
