From the article: "The company pointed out that the car’s driver had “admitted and accepted responsibility” for the incident since day one." The driver's insurance should be handling this. . .

It was not a fine. The consumer pays through increased vehicle costs due to insurance premiums to cover lawsuits. It is easy to give away other people's money. A large part of the price of a step ladder is due to product liability costs.

FTA: "Even though this jury found that the driver was overwhelmingly responsible for this tragic accident in 2019, the evidence has always shown that this driver was solely at fault because he was speeding, with his foot on the accelerator—which overrode Autopilot—as he rummaged for his dropped phone without his eyes on the road.” Deep pockets.

The driver was on the phone, dropped it, and ran through an intersection. We weren't given any of the evidence put on by the defense. Even if the driver turned on autodrive, it does no immediately take effect, and it is the responsibility of the driver to determine that it is in effect, before surrendering control of the vehicle.

If the idiot that caused this was driving a Fd Explorer ran the intersection and caused the accident would there be a cause for pensive damages against the car mfg because its transmission was automatic? There is little to nothing about the trial to give us a peek about what happened. Nothing on how the judge permitted jury instructions to allow punitive damages when state law restricts it. It must have been one crazy trial. Even if the state allowed such damages appellate courts almost always whack a big chunk off the top. But here plaintiffs have a deep pocket with their hand already in the pocket and Tesla has to be adverse to publicity. So it will work out okay for Plaintiffs. With auto-pilot already being used on the big trucksit's the future so Telsa will be okay.

Apparently, computer programming that covers ninety-nine percent of the operation is not quite good enough. I wonder how the car would handle a huge sinkhole in the road, which happens in Florida.

The Trump administration advanced its goal to eliminate taxpayer-funded abortion this week when it proposed ditching a Biden administration-era rule that forced taxpayers to subsidize veterans’ abortions. One of President Donald Trump’s first actions in his second term was prohibiting Americans’ hard-earned dollars from going to organizations that lobby for, perform, or encourage abortions in other countries. The reinstatement of President Ronald Reagan’s Mexico City Policy brought the U.S. back up to speed with Americans’ majority opposition to taxpayer-funded abortions (snip)Now, the Department of Veteran Affairs proposed a rule to rescind a 2022 policy that lumped abortions and “abortion counseling” into veterans’ taxpayer-funded medical benefits package.

I have been asked to recap some of my research into cited formats of what I believe to be criminal conduct, with specific statutes against them. This is the first of my outlines. DNI Tulsi Gabbard is not a lawyer. While I may be wrong, I find Tulsi Gabbard to be a patriot. Mrs. Gabbard is focused on providing evidence to the DOJ that essentially forces action. I support Tulsi Gabbard’s efforts. Amid a series of documents released by the Senate Judiciary Committee in 2020 [SEE HERE] there was a rather alarming letter from the DOJ to the FISA Court in July 2018 that points toward an institutional cover-up. The Israeli foreign ministry challenged the New York Times and other major mainstream media outlets to publish a photo of a starving Israeli hostage — after publishing fake images of starving Palestinian childrenAs Breitbart News reported, Hamas filmed Evyatar David, 24, being forced to dig his own grave. The video was approved for release by his family — though Hamas’s clear purpose was to create alarm and to pressure the Israeli government to accept a ceasefire on unfavorable terms. Last weekend, many major media outlets published images falsely purporting to be of starving Palestinian children. In reality, many suffered from other maladies.

The policy promises a full refund, with interest, only if travelers exit the country on time and via designated ports. Otherwise, the bond is forfeited to the Treasury, ostensibly to offset illegal-immigration enforcement costs.

Britain’s Labour government is in trouble: Its program of massive third-world immigration from places like Pakistan and Somalia is wildly, overwhelmingly unpopular. But that’s not the real problem. The real problem is that despite the best efforts of Prime Minister Keir Starmer and his leftist captive media, Britons themselves have discovered just how unpopular it is. You might think that’s absurd — if mass immigration is unpopular, how can everyone not know it? Everyone doesn’t know it because the government has been policing speech about immigration.
