PBS and NPR face an uncertain future after the Senate voted to slash funding to the public broadcasters — leading the heads of both companies to make dire warnings about looming changes. NPR CEO Katherine Maher gathered rattled staffers Thursday for a closed-door meeting at their Washington DC, office, shortly after the early-morning vote by the GOP-controlled Senate clawed back roughly $9 billion in spending for foreign aid, NPR and PBS. The House has until Friday to seal their fate and send it to President Trump‘s desk, who is expected to sign the legislation.

Read the article and see if the numbers add up. (I don’t think they do.) FTA: “NPR receives about 1% of its funds from federal sources annually, and about 3% indirectly from stations, the company has reported. The bulk of NPR’s funding comes from member station fees, corporate sponsorships and individual donations. Maher also predicted “a tremendous amount of change” if federal funding goes away,” 1% of Fed funding goes away, and you’re in for a “tremendous amount of change”????

What would you bet that, freed from the tether of public funding, these networks swing even harder Left, proving the point of the Republicans. Just like other businesses, these organizations will now have to compete in the marketplace and succeed on their own merits. As they shift further Left they will lose audience, like most other digital, TV, radio, and print sources have.

Maher is a sly, conniving weasel only attempting to save her little kingdom. Since all of the management and worker bees are flaming leftists, the truth they present is highly suspect. Bottom line, they need to survive on their own or die. US Taxpayers have been abused long enough.

This should be fun. Will NPR start showing commercials to make up for their loss of federal funding? Will their sponsors and donors continue throwing $$$ down a bottomless pit when it comes to light that its leftist programming/propaganda can't compete in a free market? Does anyone remember Air America - the liberal talk radio response to Rush Limbaugh? It struggled for about 6 years trying to get it right and blowing through several different hosts before throwing in the towel. Steven Colbert being dropped is foreshadowing of what's to come.

I see a lot of unemployed leftists in the future. NPR and PBS have long been the dumping grounds of clueless offspring of rich donors. Reports have shown that PBS stations have multiple times the production staff of commercial stations because of this. It's one of the reasons a show produced there costs far more than a commercial station.

Sen. John Kennedy (R-LA) continued his destruction of lefties, outwitting NPR CEO Katherine Maher once more after she laughably tried to claim that her organization is "nonpartisan." Yes, really. In a post on Thursday on X, Kennedy reacted to Maher's comments on CNN when the host asked her about accusations of "bias" regarding NPR amid reports about the Senate's move to end taxpayer funding of the leftist media organization and PBS. When it comes to the accusations of bias, I would start as I always start by saying, which is we, of course,

We are long overdue for an update on the gubernatorial race in Virginia, where Republican Winsome Sears, the commonwealth's current lieutenant governor, is taking on Democrat Abigail Spanberger, who served from 2019 to 2024 in the U.S. House of Representatives, so let's get down to it. As a reminder, the current Republican governor of Virginia, Glenn Youngkin, cannot run for consecutive terms, so he's not on the ballot this year. And Virginia is one of two states, the other being New Jersey, that have off-year elections. It's not the most high-stakes of election cycles,

Both the city and state’s gargantuan budgets are “unaffordable and unprepared” in the wake of a potential recession and impending cuts from the feds, a fiscal watchdog group said Thursday — sounding the alarm on massive overspending. The Citizen Budget Commission recommended nixing Gov. The nonpartisan group also ripped mayoral frontrunner Zohran Mamdani’s signature plan to raise taxes on wealthy New Yorkers and businesses — an essential policy to pay for the socialist’s pie-in-the-sky platform of $10 billion in new spending.

Fox News Digital has uncovered damning evidence that the Obama administration deliberately “manufactured and politicized intelligence” to push the now-debunked Russia election interference narrative, despite contradictory assessments from within the intelligence community itself.According to newly declassified documents that Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard released Friday, there’s “overwhelming evidence” that Barack Obama and his national security inner circle went to work immediately after Donald Trump’s stunning 2016 victory over Hillary Clinton. Their goal? Lay the foundation for the Trump-Russia hoax that would consume the nation for years. This wasn’t a matter of bad judgment; it was a calculated operation to delegitimize Trump’s presidency before it even began.
